The last twenty-four hours have been an emotional rollercoaster ride for the fans of Angel. Yesterday, a news item appeared on a leading Buffy website stating they had received a tip-off that the NBC network were to pick up a sixth season of Angel, the show recently axed from The WB network. While some fans rejoiced, many were unsure the rumour was true and opted to wait for something official from the large american nework before starting to celebrate. It proved to be a wise move for some...
Ain't It Cool News knocked the rumour on it's head and issued the following news item:
Please stop with the writing about “Angel” coming to NBC. NBC? Cancelled “Star Trek”! Not going to air anything as cool as “Angel,” ever!
It was a very very fakey post, from somebody claiming to have some connection to NBC, but Dark Horizons apparently posted a link to it, which means every human being on the planet who ever read Dark Horizons (Hi Garth! Thanks!) emailed the Herc about it over the last 12 hours.
So I asked someone intimately familiar with the situation, a good man or woman who was decent enough to speedily reply:
Herc -
I wish it were true, but it's a steaming pile of BS. The sets have been struck, the writers are on new shows, etc.
Joss is very focused on SERENITY which starts shooting in three weeks.
Best,
