Entertainment Weekly featured an interview with Angel creator Joss Whedon in their latest issue.
Whedon talks about the cancelation of Buffy spin-off, Angel, describing it as being like a "healthy guy dropping dead of a heart attack". Speaking about the volatile marketplace that is television, Whedon stated he would love to do Buffyverse movies but believes there is not a market for his work at this time.
Angel may be done and dusted but Whedon is due to start filming Firefly film, Serenity next week where he confirms all members of the original cast from the short-lived TV series have returned. The film is due for release in early 2005.
Meanwhile, Whedon continues his creative streak by working on Buffy: The Animated Series as well as the X-Men comic books.
Whedon says, "One of the things I like about the X-Men is they're not killing people. I miss the idea of...heroes who stop that kind of thing from happening. Here's why I'm not running Marvel: If I was, I would kill the Punisher."
