Supernatural shows get a look-in this Fall
Just when we thought reality shows were taking over our televisions, American network NBC has announced two new supernatural shows to be aired this Fall.

Revelations has been given eight weeks to make an impact. The show is described as being an "end-of-days thriller".

From TV Tome:

Bill Pullman ("Independence Day") and Natascha McElhone ("Solaris") star in the series, which also features John Rhys-Davis ("The Lord of the Rings"), Tobin Bell ("24") and twins Britney and Chelsey Coyle. Pullman plays Dr. Richard Massey, a Harvard professor whose daughter is murdered by satanists, who's recruited by McElhone's character, a nun, to help investigate whether what's told in the Book of Revelations is starting to come true. Rhys-Davis' character is that of Lampley, a wheelchair-bound Harvard professor emeritus, a genius astrophysicist and mentor to Dr. Massey.

In addition to Polone, David Seltzer ("The Omen"), Vivian Cannon and Jessika Borsiczky serve as executive producers of the series.

The second supernatural show on NBC's schedule is Medium, which centers around a housewife with psychic powers.

From NBC:

In this drama, Allison Dubois (Patricia Arquette, "Stigmata," "Flirting with Disaster") sees dead people - and in fact, she hears them constantly too. No, she's not crazy, although her husband Joe (Jake Weber, "U-571"), a rocket scientist, thought that was a possibility at first. So did Allison herself, until she realized that her "gift" could not only change fate -- but provide justice for those who no longer had a voice. Don't think Allison is totally comfortable with all of this -- in fact, she's as creeped out as everyone else. Imagine a dead father-in-law popping up unexpectedly at the foot of someone's bed. Plus, there are the jarring slices of disturbing crime scenes that pepper Allison's thoughts, added to her ability to sometimes know exactly what those around her (dead or alive) are thinking. Luckily, Allison has a great sense of humor along with her sixth sense. Even Joe, whose whole career is based on logic and fact, has become a bemused believer. The real challenge is convincing law enforcement agencies around the country that Allison is the real deal. "Medium" is from Picturemaker Productions and Grammnet Productions in association with Paramount Network Television. Glenn Gordon Caron ("Moonlighting") and Kelsey Grammer ("Frasier") are executive producers.

Fox has announced the renewal of Eliza Dushku's show Tru Calling despite it's poor reviews.

Dark Shadows, better known as "that vampire show that's replacing Angel", won't be getting any air time after all. Following John Wells' alleged exit from the project, The WB network did not announce it on their fall line-up. Smallville will air at 8pm on Wednesday, with Blue Collar TV and Green Screen occupying the 9-10pm slot.

Meanwhile, Alias failed to appear on ABC's Fall schedule, although it a fourth season has been confirmed. Sadly, fans won't see the first episode until 2005.
