Angel gets a mention in the 2004 Amy Awards as voted for by you, the readers:
In the Beloved Show That Was Cancelled Award, Angel took a landslide victory with 56% of readers voting in this award. In comparison, the much missed comedy Friends was second with only 21% of the votes. When you compare the shows own success, it's hard not to wonder if the fans felt it was time for it to bow out. Angel left our screens when we were not ready for it.
How much do you hate Eve? She won the Worst New Character Award with 25% of the votes. Don't hate me, but I quite liked her. She was trying so hard to be somebody she just wasn't. If there was a puppet in season five of Angel, it would be Eve. Now turning her into a little puppet in Smile Time would have been midly amusing.
Talking of midly amusing, Lindsey McDonald has always made me chuckle. There were times when I watched him and wished I could hate him, then there were times I wished I could..ahem...love him. 32% of you felt the same way as the once evil lawyer at Wolfram & Hart won the Character You'd Love to Hate and Hate to Love.
For those of you who have yet to see Not Fade Away, I'm not going to spoil the last line for you. Just know that it won Best Quote. Ahhh, I could listen to that line all day. 44% of you voted the finale as your Best Episode of the Season.
Amy Acker won another Best Actress Award for her skills in season five with 45% of the votes! Go Amy! She was a joy to watch in the final series and I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of Acker.
A certain someone who shall remain nameless won the Best Death Award but again, I know there are fans out there in Australia who are still watching season five and being a hater of spoilers, I'm not about to tell you.
