The story special will be read by Angel star David Boreanaz as part of the spooky Saturday night line-up of entertainment. The evening also includes an acoustic set by James Marsters and a grand draw with the chance to win breakfast with both actors.
Ann is best known as a children's thriller writer and has been scaring the living daylights out of readers for more than 10 years. Her latest book, The Beast, has just been published by Usborne Publishing and was praised by The Guardian newspaper. They said: "Good horror isn't about cheap thrills, as The Beast demonstrates with style and substance. Evans's writing is evocative and full of atmosphere, her plotting compelling and convincing."
The glamorous mother-of-three, who is also grandmother to six-year-old Jake, says she is planning a much more adult tale of horror for Halloween 2004.
She said: "Fans can expect a gripping tale of terror and suspense which I'm sure David will make even chilling by his great acting skills. I've watched and enjoyed Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel in the past and I want to come up with something extra special for Halloween."
