Cambridge, MA-On May 17, Twentieth Century Fox Film/Rounder Records will release Live Fast, Die Never - Music from the TV Series, Angel. Featuring a stunning score by composer Robert J. Kral, the soundtrack includes musical highlights from all five seasons of the hit television series. Written by Academy® and Emmy® award nominated writer Joss Whedon (Buffy The Vampire Slayer), the cult hit Angel is a humorous exploration of the twists and turns of adulthood set against a backdrop of supernatural adventure. Kicking off with an extended version of the show's theme song, the highly-anticipated Live Fast, Die Never will guide its fans on the epic journey that is Angel.
In addition to the extended theme song, the 25-track CD features music from three cast members - "Lady Marmalade" and "It's Not Easy Being Green" performed by Andy Hallett (Lorne) from season four and "LA Song" performed by Christian Kane (Lindsey McDonald) from season two. "I'm Game" (written by Emmy-award winning composer Christophe Beck) and the hard-edged "Touched" (performed by Vast) are featured from season one. Contemporary singer-songwriter Kim Richey concludes the album with the sweet "A Place Called Home" from season five. On the instrumental tracks, composer Robert J. Kral heightens Angel's dramatic storylines to full scale. "Rob's work always gave Angel such epic sweep, without ever sacrificing intimacy," said Joss Whedon.
In the series, Angel (David Boreanaz) is a centuries-old vampire who leaves the small town of Sunnydale, California (home to Buffy The Vampire Slayer) to start a new life in Los Angeles. Debuting on the WB Television network in October of 1999, Angel became immensely popular throughout its five seasons on the air. Entertainment Weekly said, "Angel has proven itself a worthy heir to creator Joss Whedon's Buffy universe."
In 2002, Rounder Records, along with Mutant Enemy/Twentieth Century Fox Music, released Once More, With Feeling - the original soundtrack to the Emmy®-nominated musical episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. The album garnered impressive reviews in Rolling Stone and other major publications.
