One Night in Bangkok
Stephanie Romanov says, "I do!"

"I wore a pale gold silk top
and skirt. [Nick] wore a
white linen shirt."

f Wolfram & Hart's Lilah Morgan is the ultimate bad-ass barrister with a briefcase then the beautiful and talented actress who portrays her on Angel, Stephanie Romanov, is the quintessential opposite, a true romantic at heart and the supreme adventurer! The week preceding Christmas 2001 found Stephanie in the remote, picturesque island of Phuket, Thailand and in the bliss of true love. Located in the sparkling green waters of the Andaman Sea just 70 minutes flying time south of Bangkok, Thailand's most popular beach destination is known as the "Pearl of the South". Amidst the backdrop of this breathtaking landscape, Stephanie fondly recalls this whirlwind adventure which would climax into her wedding day!

"I got married in Siem Reap, Cambodia at the Bayon Temple at Angkor Thom," Stephanie beams. "It was built in the 1100s. It was a typical Cambodian ceremony. We had seven musicians who played traditional music. The ceremony was preformed by five Buddhist monks. They chanted in San Skrit, so needless to say we didn't understand a word." However, Stephanie admits, "We did have a translator who related the gist of the ceremony."

If you think this is reminiscent of a scene in Lara Croft, Tomb Raider you're not mistaken! This is precisely where Stephanie was. And like the Tomb Raider, Stephanie partook in the Monks’ religious culture. "It was Dec. 26th. It was a warm sunny day. Having only gotten engaged a week earlier while in Phuket, Thailand I was quite nervous to find myself on the brink of a whole knew life. My soon-to-be husband was also nervous, but excited. We had only decided two days before to get married while we were in Cambodia," she confesses. "We called ahead to the Hotel to see if they could arrange it within 24 hours, and, to our great joy, we arrived in Cambodia and were told by the hotel manager that all was arranged and we'd be getting married, 'Tomorrow at 4 p.m.'! Serendipitously, another couple had called a month earlier to have arrangements made for a marriage and because of that they had all the info they needed so as to make our ceremony happen with such haste."

Bangkok where they
honeymooned

"I wore a pale gold silk top and skirt. My feet bare. My husband wore a white linen shirt and khakis. It was the most romantic beautiful day of my life. We each wrote our own vows. When we got back to the hotel, we had a drink to celebrate at which point my husband announced that he loved being married! How sweet. And I must say, I do love being married."

There’s something to be said about romance. Moments such as these may only come about once or perhaps twice in a lifetime, yet certainly everyone can feel the wonderment of spontaneity these two have inspired. And what more precious and beautiful of a place on Earth could they have chosen for their foundation? CityofAngel.com and all of Stephanie's fans wish her and Nick the very best and many more adventures to come!

Don't miss your chance to meet Stephanie and give her your own personal congratulations at the Metro-Comics signing in Santa Barbara, California on Saturday, April 27th, 2002.
