Buffy frantically lifted her head to see and the mess of blond curls
currently positioned between her legs. With the use of a single finger and
a very talented tongue, Spike was driving her insane. Tangled together in
the basement of a recently demolished house, their sweat covered bodies
tingled from hours of playing. The petit blond tilted her hips just
slightly and let out a slow moan as the speed and pressure increased. Her
hips began to rock to match each stroke until she finally cried out in
release.
Buffy sat up in bed panting. Swearing to herself that garlic and crosses
could not keep out the vampire that entered her mind every night. Real
vampires she could handle, even Spike she could easily keep at bay when she
wanted to. Recently cold insults were her response to his flurry of
insinuations and offers. He would smile knowingly but drop the subject or
walk away. He'd been making it pretty easy on her to live without facing
that things had changed. The vampire in her dreams, on the other hand, was
what worried her. There was no escape from that. Even now, awake and
alone in her bed she could still feel the effect of his every touch that
night. Her body, even now, was still hot and sensitive... alert and
waiting.
Frustrated, she laid back down and turned onto her side. She closed her
eyes for a moment but a flash of a pale lean body rubbing against her
quickly had her wide awake again. It had been weeks and still the memories
and the frustration kept her awake at night. She often felt irritable and
irrational during the day. She could not find any peace of mind.. at least
not from any place she cared to look for it.
Laying on her back she let her thoughts wander again. As one of her
favorite memories filled her head, she allowed her hand to travel down into
her panties and slowly manipulate her already swollen clit. In her head
Spike was behind her, licking and nipping at her neck and shoulder. She
remembered the rush of adrenaline when she realized that he could easily
take her life. She would have been too distracted to react in time if he
had chosen to tighten his grasp and bite down. She wondered if the thought
had crossed his mind, even for a second. She thought of it every night but
with more passion then fear. Her memories of that moment continued and she
could practically feel him slip inside her from behind as they lay together
on their sides. His movements were dizzyingly slow as he gracefully moved
his hips back and forth. Just as exciting as their first almost vicious
coupling but the second time was so much more. With every stroke Spike was
telling her something. Something that she was not ready to hear. As her
fantasy progressed, as did the movement of her fingers. Soon one hand was
moving slender fingers deep inside her and another hand teased at her nub.
The pace increased steadily until her insides began to spasm and her body
quivered from weeks of arousal left without satisfaction. With a content
smile on her face she drift off to sleep.
*******
At seven o'clock the next morning Buffy's alarm clock rang. With a sigh
she quieted it, rose and headed to take a shower. As she walked through
the hall she nearly bumped into Dawn, who didn't even appear to see her.
Buffy managed a mumbled 'hey' before heading into the washroom.
Standing under the hot water Buffy grumbled to herself as usual about how
tired she was. But she really wasn't all that tired she realized.
Actually she felt better then she had in a long while. It was like a
weight had been lifted. Maybe it was just a good night's sleep finally.
Definitely a good night's sleep. She smiled to herself. * There's nothing
really wrong about what I did. Perfectly natural. * She thought to
herself. *And if it makes me a happy Buffy in the morning all the
better... like eating cake without any calories*
Still smiling at her new found 'workaround' Buffy dried herself off and
wrapped a large pink towel around herself. Looking in the mirror for the
first time, she frowned. It was oddly too fogged up to even show her
reflection. Grabbing a towel, she quickly wiped the mirror down to reveal
the wall behind her and what appeared to be a floating towel. Confused,
Buffy tentatively reach a hand out to the mirror until one of her fingers
touched it, but still no reflection appeared. She repeated the action with
the hand still holding the towel and watched the towel reach the mirror but
still no hand that was clasped around it.
"Willow?" Buffy hollered through the hallway hoping the witch might be able
to explain the mirror trick but soon remembered that Willow had planned to
head out early. "Dawn?"
Dawn jogged up the stairs and headed towards her room. Buffy watched in
amazement as Dawn walked directly passed her, entered her room and closed
the door.
"Dawn! What's going on?" Buffy raised her voice at the closed door. "Come
on, Dawnie. Stop playing around. You're are wiggin' me out here."
Buffy knocked loudly at the closed door. "Dawn! Are you mad or something?"
The bedroom door quickly opened and Dawn popped her head out and looked
left and right. Shrugging her shoulders the young brunette let out a
rather loud "What?" in the direction of Buffy's room. "Buffy? What do you
want, I'm going to be late for school."
"Dawn... I'm right behind you. Why are you yelling?" Her older sister
questioned.
"Buffy? Did you want something? Buffy?" Dawn yelled out as she moved from
room to room adding "God... she is so annoying" in a mumbled whine.
Buffy stood in astonishment in the hallway and watched Dawn search for her,
talking about her as if she wasn't there. Giving up the search, Dawn
returned to her room and exited again with her coat on. She walked directly
passed Buffy without even looking at her and walked out the front door.
After staring at the closed front door for a few minutes Buffy decided to
get ready without the aid of a mirror as the one in her bedroom seemed to
be broken as well. Fed, dressed and makeup-less Buffy headed out to the
Magic Box for some answers.
*******
Buffy let herself into the Magic Box and was surprised to find no one in
the main area even though it was still before the store opened.
"I'll check what that was" She heard Anya's voice coming from the training
room.
"Hi Anya!" Buffy smiled as she walked up to the ex-demon "Do you know
anything about mirrors that don't act right?"
Anya looked around and turned back towards the training room "It was
nothing... I told you Willow said she wouldn't be in and Buffy's never here
before ten o'clock. Now lets get on with this... we only have an hour
before the shop needs to open and I don't want to waste your day off"
"Anya? Anya! It's Buffy. What the hell is wrong with everybody?" Buffy
blurted out and followed Anya into the training room. Buffy stared wide-
eyed at Xander, who was on the mat in the middle of the training room. His
shirt was off and he was working on removing his belt.
"An hour eh? I think we can squeeze in some Xander lovin' in an hour"
Xander gave Anya a silly smile and pulled her onto the floor with him.
"Ok... but I don't want to use the gym horse. When we fell off last time
you almost broke your wrist."
"But it was still lots of fun before the falling part..." Xander began to
unbutton Anya blouse and caress her breasts.
"Oh god... this isn't happening..." Buffy stammered as she began to back up
toward the door. "I think I'm going to be traumatized by this worse then
hearing about my mother and Giles."
"I've got an idea, if we can lean one of these mats up against the
wall...." Was all Buffy needed to hear before darting out of the training
room.
Buffy walked through the streets, paying attention to how everyone seemed
to ignore her completely. No one attempted to move around her on the side
walks. There was no eye contact or even occasional glances. Cars did not
slow down as she tried to cross the street. It felt too much like she
didn't exist.
With Dawn in school, Anya and Xander occupied and Willow running an errand
there was only one place left to turn. Putting on her best resolve face,
not that it would matter, she headed towards Spike's crypt. Since it was
morning he should be there, possibly sleeping. Hopefully not doing
anything disgusting. She quickly reminded herself that the very thing she
was referring to as 'disgusting' she had happily indulged in last night
herself.
******
Buffy quietly entered Spike's crypt and found it very dark and very quiet.
With no candles lit anywhere it was almost impossible to see. Slowly her
eyes adjusted, allowing her to see a small flickering light coming from the
level below.
As she descended the ladder she heard the low rumble of Spike's accent
address her. "So... Slayer... decide to pay me an early visit?" with a
cockey smirk he added "Care to join me in a little cat nap?"
"Don't you ever stop?" Buffy shook her head in mock annoyance and walked
over to Spike. The vampire was laid out on his bed with only his tight
black jeans. His arms were crossed behind his head and his eyes closed.
He would have looked peaceful if not for that half smile that played on his
lips.
"What's wrong Slayer afraid I might bite?" Spike chuckled to himself and
finally sat up. "Alright, pet, what is it this time." He looked around the
room ignoring Buffy standing at the foot of his bed. "Slayer?" He walked
towards the ladder and looked up. "Buffy? I know you're still here."
Buffy watched the bleach blond walk around the lower level in confusion.
"Spike? What is wrong with everybody? Why can't anybody see me?"
"Come on Buffy... is there something you want? I'd like to get some sleep
and I can't do that if you're setting my slayer warnings off." After a
thorough search of his crypt with Buffy following behind he finally laid
down again
"Spike you know I'm here just try to see me. Please. I need you to see
me... you're the only one who even noticed me." Buffy knelt on the floor
beside the bed.
Spike took in a deep breath and smiled "When I close my eyes it's like
you're right here. I can smell you every where. I can hear your heart
beat.... Blood hell that girl's got me loosing my marbles"
"Alright, I'm going to try something... but it's not 'cause I'm trying
anything... I'm just seeing if this will work... so don't look into this or
anything... ok?" Buffy bit her lip and looked for the response she knew
wouldn't come. Leaning over, she gently brushed her lips against Spike's.
The vampire immediately responded by moving closer and increasing pressure
of the kiss. Buffy tentatively stroked his cool lips with her tongue and
they parted eagerly. His hand began to play with hair as he urged her off
the floor and onto the bed. "Buffy..." She heard him moan as their bodies
began to rub against each other seeking friction.
Buffy saw his blue eyes appear behind his heavy lids and then widen in
shock. He quickly moved away from her as if looking at her could burn him.
"Spike... wait... please. It's me. Buffy. I know you can't see or hear
me but you can feel me. You know it's me. Please I need your help."
Buffy pleated. Buffy gingerly grabbed his hand. Spike, still confused but
more then a little curious, allowed his hand to be moved. Buffy slowly
maneuvered the vampire's hand so that it traced out her face. Buffy
watched his reaction as he began to recognize each of her features with the
curves of the soft skin he was touching. Slowly she moved his hand down to
lay just above her left breast.
"Buffy?" Spike uttered in a confused voice. "What happened to you? You
know I can't see you right? I guess you figured that out..."
She smiled and kissed him.
Spike licked his lips and smirked "I'll never get tired of the taste of
you..." and leaned in for another kiss, but Buffy quickly ducked leaving
him kissing the rush of wind that was created by her movement.
"Hey! Slayer! That's not playing fair."
Buffy giggled as she dove back onto the bed, her weight hitting the bed
causing it to squeak. Within seconds Spike was on top of her easily
picking up her heartbeat now that he knew not to rely on sight.
"So Slayer... are you here looking for help with your disappearing act...."
Spike leaned so that he was barely brushing her ear and in a thick access
added "or are you planning on bringing the house down again."
Buffy felt her own heartbeat increase and knew that was all the answer that
this vampire would need. Soon, a cool tongue flicked out to tease her ear
lobe and moved down to trace a slick line down her neck. Memories of last
night flooded back to her. She had brought herself to climax so easily at
the thought of this same action. She was brought back to reality as Spike
began to blow cool air on the wet trail. Her entire body shivered at the
sensation.
"Liked that, did you? Thought you might... something so sexy about a
neck..." Soon her neck was covered with wet kisses and little nibbles.
Spike continued his attentions for what seems like hours, alternately
tender caressed and soft scraping with blunt teeth. Never touching her
other then ears, neck and sometimes her collarbone. Buffy just sat there
letting herself get driven wild, moaning contently even though no one had
the benefit of hearing it.
******
"Spike! Spike! Are you here?" Buffy heard a familiar voice call from
upstairs.
"Xander." The lovers whispered to each other in synch.
After a second delay, Spike yelled "Go away"
"Well, I can't. I need to talk to you ... about Buffy. There might be
something bad going on." They heard Xander shout back.
"I'm sure everything's fine... just... go away." Spike responded again.
Buffy looked at him disapprovingly and realized that she couldn't
communicate with her usual glares. Gently she removed herself from his
grasp and began to pull at his hand. Reluctantly, he moved off the bed
towards the ladder.
"You be a good girl and wait here. I'm not done with you yet" Spike spoke
softly in her general direction.
Buffy could hear a muffled 'bloody hell' and finally "Uh.. er... right...
I'll.. uh.. be up in a sec." as Spike ran his fingers through his hair and
threw on a long shirt to hide his erection before heading up the ladder.
The conversation upstairs could clearly be heard on the lower level.
"What do you want?" The blond vampire snapped.
"It's about Buffy. " Xander began. "We think there might be something
going on around town and we can't seem to find her anywhere. Weird stuff
... like things floating in mid-air"
Buffy grumbled about the timing but knew that whatever was making her
invisible was probably something she needed to deal with. She found a pad
of paper and pen on the bar and jotted down a quick note. She knew Spike
would be furious at her for leaving, but she couldn't let this thing with
Spike, what ever it was, interfere with her responsibilities.
"And you thought she might be here with me?" Spike responded, his voice
dripping with sarcasm.
"Well, not 'with' you... with you... just maybe here. We thought she came
here sometimes... to talk. "
Buffy quietly emerged from the lower level, hoping that the confrontation
with Xander would distract Spike enough to not sense her presence.
"Not bloody likely. I haven't seen her. So don't let the door hit you on
the way out."
Xander turned to walk out the door, shoulders rigid in frustration and
unaware that he had gotten what he came for.
Buffy silently followed him to the Magic Box. She would announce her
invisible self to the entire gang once they arrived. For now she was lost
in her own thoughts, wondering what Spike reaction would be to her note.
Buffy sighed and tried to concentrate at the problem at hand. First she
had to get herself visible again. She had plenty of time to worry about her
promise to Spike later.
*****
Hours later Buffy was pacing her bedroom, knowing that Spike would be there
any minute. The offer was simple:
I have to go.
Stop by at midnight and I'll make up for leaving.
I promise.
Buffy.
Only now it wasn't so simple. She had spent most of the day thinking about
tonight. Even as she had the three idiots arrested for accidentally making
her and half the town invisible, she was struggling with what her note
implied. How could she help Willow overcome her addiction and be a
hypocrite by giving into her own temptations. Kissing Spike this morning,
she knew she was playing with fire. Eventually there would be a point of
no return, where all the denial in the world would not convince herself
that she felt nothing. For now, all the spontaneous kisses and great sex
was still meaningless until she openly admitted that she really wanted
whatever it was that Spike was offering. She still wasn't sure what
tonight's invitation really meant.
"Evenin' Slayer."
Buffy turned to see Spike gracefully enter her window. He walked towards
her looking like a predator proudly hunting a defenseless prey. Her heart
fluttered in a unique combination of fear, excitement and anticipation that
only this blond vampire could produce. The way her body reacted to
watching him approach it was clear that he made her feel more alive then
all the hours she had spent with Riley combined and the memory of his touch
burned in her more then any of the soft words Angel ever spoke. As she
walked towards him, she resolved to give into to what the night had to
offer. It was time to stop running from what she was feeling.
"Waiting for me?" He whispered as he leaned in and kissed her cheek. Buffy
smiled, her decision having been made and responded "As a matter of fact, I
was." Tilting her head towards his, she kissed him slowly and tenderly,
giving herself over completely. Emotions flooded through her and she
realized that she hadn't kissed anyone so passionately since the night
Angel lost his soul.
Buffy moved away slightly to end the kiss. When she opened her eyes she
saw Spike staring at her in awe. His facial expression mirrored the one he
wore standing at the bottom of her stairs the night she was brought back.
"Buffy?" He questioned nervously. Buffy understood by the look on his face
that he never truly expected to be welcomed into her heart. He knew
something was different. The desperation was gone. He was being kissed by
the real Buffy, not a panicked girl grasping at anything.
Giving him a mischievous wink in response, she led him to the bed where she
planned to relive some of her favorite memories.
