Tara Mclay was the lovely gentle and kind girlfriend of Willow. They bonded over magic and their friendship soon turned to love. They had an intense connection and her relationship with Willow molded her and gave her the confidence and love that she was previously lacking. She had no real family as her mother died when she was 17 and she had a bad relationship with her father and brother who told her she was a demon to try and control her. Over time the scoobies became like her family. She had a strong bond with Dawn and looked after her when everyone else was out saving the world. Towards the end of season 5 she got her brain sucked by the god Glory and it was her love Willow who again saved her and returned her to her former self. Tara and Willow split in season 6 because of Willows addiction to the magicks. They then got back together as their love was so great, only to be torn apart by a stray bullet from Warren.
