Xander Harris is Buffy Summers other best friend along with Willow being his best friend from when they were very young.
Xander and Willow first met in kindergarten, and there's a yellow crayon story behind this first meeting which Xander used in season 7 to save willow from destroying the world by reminding her how much he loved her. Xander was the first person to meet Buffy on her first day at Sunnydale High. It was love at first sight! Xander was a big geeky loser when the series first started and he grew a lot as a character. Going out with Cordelia helped his cool status a bit but he ever remained the high school loser. The others all had their roles within the Scooby gang but Xander had no supernatural powers and sometimes felt a bit useless and left out. His part was to help Giles with all the research and it was said that he's the one who's the heart of the group and the one who sees everything. He seemed rather useless at times but it ended up that he became the most grown up and responsible part of the group with his job as a carpenter. It seemed like he spent most of his time rebuilding the Summer's residence after all the many demon related attacks on it! Xander was and still is a big geek but we love him for it!
