AUTHORS NOTES- I'm back with the angst! This came to me about 40 minutes ago when watching 'While you were Sleeping' but don't ask me why! The End of Days in this poem is where the demons have returned on Earth, which breaks apart the very universe, and so it's End of Days of everything. Basically, no matter what Buffy does, she and every one else will die- but as a Slayer, she can't stop fighting the demons and accept defeat. Angel is apparently fighting elsewhere, and I might do a companion to this poem to show his side too. Please don't get too angsted, sorry Adia X

SUMMARY- Buffy's POV. As she faces her last battle before death, she thinks of her soul mate.

The sky is violently falling
And the earth spits out its song
There's no longer a point in stalling
For soon we'll be all gone

Demons continue to fight us
'Though they concentrate on me
Such fiery, maddening attackers
Who will never let me free

I punch and maim and slaughter
As the ceiling crumbles down
Kill my best friends murderer
Before her body hits the ground

This is our world that they're taking
And I'll fight them till I'm through
But seeing Giles' body breaking
My thoughts return to you

Body scarred with scratches
Mind tired of all this pain
How I wish I could prevent this
And be in your arms again

Are you fighting out there?
Until the world explodes?
Angel- is our misery fair?
Why can't we choose our roads?

Xander's dead and as cold as night
But I can never sit down to cry
As I have to do what's right- and Fight
Until they take this life

Another punch, and yet more come!
I know in my heart I've lost
First Evil has ultimately purged and won
At all of humanity's cost

But like a captain with his ship
My fate deems that I should die
Yet even now as I lose my grip
Your face burns through my mind

Don't think that I didn't care for you
My soul was yours to have
And I forgive wrongs old and new
As you're the man I love

Society has completely collapsed
It's my fault our world has died
You're my last thought as my neck is snapped
For ours was the most beautiful ride

I wish I was by your side.
