And to Care

Authors note- I wanted to write a short poem based on Angel's POV re: the guilt he feels over the people he's killed. This isn't connected with Amends at all, but is about the torment he receives every day. I too late realised there is a `Wuthering Heights' influence, but I love that book so it doesn't really matter to me!
Feedback- Please do, I'd really appreciated it if you gave me your opinion of my work. My email is
Poem Summary- Angel expresses his guilt.

They comfort me with staring
The faces of those I've killed
Tormenting their tormentor
With hatred burning cold

To feel them whisper to me
Small voices in my mind
Playing with my conscience
Demonic to my kind

The Guilt! It suffocates me
Surrounded by the dead
Alone with all the corpses
Alive within my head

They're telling me to suffer
And clawing at my flesh
One thousand icy fingers
That cannot let me rest

My strength weakens in confusion
Subservient to their rule
Never to be forgiven
A dirty, filthy soul

The End
