The Summer's house was filled with the aroma of insents. All the original Scoobies plus the newbies from LA were scattered throughout the Summer's household. Cordelia and Gunn were upstairs taking a nap in Buffy and Dawn's rooms. Giles and Wesley were in the dining room with books spread out across the table frantically researching. For what? They had yet to tell everyone. Xander, Anya, and Dawn were giggling like mad scientists as they made dinner for everyone in the kitchen. Tara and Willow were at the front door working on the reverse welcoming spell for Angelus. Buffy had finally given into the wiriness, and lay motionless except for the heaving of her chest, on the couch. Spike had covered her with the blanket and sat tentatively watching over her.

"...his verbes, consesus rescissus est." Willow chanted in the background. As she did so Tara translated it into English.

"By These words, consent repealed." There was a pause as both girls just looked at the door. "That should hold Angelus out." She smiled at the thought that both her and Willow had cast a spell together. And it worked. *Hopefully* Tara thought.

"Well it worked last time." Willow replied with a buoyant voice. Willow looked over her shoulder at the sleeping Buffy. "We should let her know we did they spell when she wakes up. That might keep her from having a nervous breakdown." She looked at her friend sadly. "She doesn't get to escape from reality too much lately."

"You mean she hasn't been sleeping enough lately huh?" Said a deep voice that belonged to someone from the top of the stairs. It was Gunn. He walked down the steep stairs slowly and carefully as he rubbed the last remnants of sleep away. "You guys confuse me. You never say what you mean. Instead you just say it all prim and properly." He smiled at this.

Willow looked at Tara then turned her gaze to Gunn. "What do you expect from a bunch of Giles groupies?" She said with a laugh. Gunn just shook his head in amazement.

"When's dinner going to be ready? I could smell it from all the way upstairs." He asked bobbing his head in the direction of the kitchen. But Gunn got his answer sooner than he expected.

Dawn poked her head out of the kitchen and called to everyone "Dinner's ready." Buffy moaned and rolled over onto her side.

"Shhhhhhhhhhhh...." Spike hissed in Dawn's direction. Dawn merely stuck her tongue out at Spike. Everyone made their way into the kitchen with the exception of Buffy and Spike.

Dawn poked her head out of the kitchen again and kept her voice at a whisper. "Are you going to eat Spike?"

"Not unless you have some A positive." He smiled.

Dawn walked out into the living room with her hands behind her back. "Did you honestly think that we would forget you?" She asked brining her hands in front of her, revealing a mug full of warm pigs' blood. She handed it to him.

Spike gratefully took it from her. "Thanks mate." Dawn turned around and walked back into the kitchen. Spike sat back down on the recliner and resumed watching Buffy sleep. He watched her as her once expressionless features turned into a deep concentrated look. Spike watched silently as her eyes fluttered under her eyelids. Spike took as sip of his blood. She rolled over onto her back. She shot out of her dormant state in a cold sweat.

"Oh my god! Oh my God! Oh my God." She chanted covering her eyes with her hands and not noticing Spike just yet.

"What's wrong love?" He asked her. Concern filled his British accent and shown through furrows on his brow as he rushed over to her side.

Buffy looked at him finally noticing his presence. "Spike?" There was a slight pause as she let everything sink in. "I just had a bad dream. Do you know where Giles is?"

"Yeah. He's in the kitchen getting some grub." He gave her a questioning look, expecting some sort of explanation.

She sighed catching his glare. "Look, sometimes I get these surround sound dreams, I mean they are so realistic that... Sometimes I can smell, taste and feel in them, like the objects in the dream are really tangible. And Spike, when I have these dreams, they are usually... how do I put this... they are prophetic. And if the dream I just had is one of those, than were so in serious trouble." She quickly got up and walked towards the kitchen.

Spike stood "What happened?" He asked simply.

She simply replied without the slightest change crossing her face. "All hell broke loose."

"I'm going to call Fred. I don't think she's ever been alone in the office this long." Gunn said Cordelia as he stood in the threshold of the doorway in Buffy's room. Cordelia was lying on top of the covers staring up at the ceiling. "Are you ok?"

Cordelia rolled over onto her side so she could talk to Gunn. "Yeah. It's just... it's just... what happens if we don't get Angel back? What do we do? Do we just run the Investigations without him? What woul-" Gunn cut her off with a wave of his hand.

He walked over and sat with her on the bed. "Life is too short to life our lives on what ifs." He kissed her forehead gently.

"You guys, it's time to eat." Dawn said walking into the room. "We made spaghetti." She said with a smile as she walked into the room. She saw the depressed expressions on her friend's faces. "Are you guys ok?"

"Yeah. We're just a little worried about the Angelus situation." Gunn replied quietly looking down at his hands, which were clasped together.

"Don't you mean you're totally wigged out? It's not like we all aren't freaked. We all feel the same way you do. Afraid. Very afraid. But it's not the 'Oh My God, We Could Die' fear. It's the 'How Will We Pick It Up And Go On Living' fear. And we need to see that this battle here isn't about us and what we feel. It's about Angel and Buffy. It's about what they feel." Dawn looked at the two shocked faces.

"Since when did you get so... grown up?" Cordelia asked.

"Since I noticed that my actions effected others too." She said with a dry smile. "Now let's go eat before it gets cold."

"Giles can we talk in the dining room?" Buffy asked poking her head in the kitchen door. Everyone was standing around slurping their spaghetti.

Giles arched his eyebrow. "Is something the matter?" He asked as he put his plate down on the counter nervously.

"Yeah. But what's new?" Buffy sighed. He followed Buffy into the dining room apprehensively. Books littered the table. They were strewn across the floor and the chairs. Both Buffy and Giles had to move books off the chairs so they could sit. "I had one of my dreams." She said looking at him.

Giles sighed. "You mean your prophetic ones? Oh dear God, tell me there isn't some big disaster in the horizon." He looked at her searching for an answer.

"Ok. There isn't some big disaster in the horizon." She replied sarcastically.

Giles sighed. "I don't understand why you think it's so funny to be sarcastic."

"Whatever." Buffy said rolling her eyes. "Look. In my dream I saw tons of things that are already de je voue. But I'll save those for later. The new stuff wasn't pretty. I saw blood everywhere. I remember that I looked down at my hands and there was blood on them. I tried to wipe it off, but it wouldn't come off." She took a deep breath before continuing. "Giles, I... I... I saw you dead." She looked up into his eyes searching for something. Anything.

"Buffy, you have proven time after time that you can change these. They are only warnings of what's to come." But Giles made it a point not to look at her. "I'm not going to die. Now what else was in your dream?"

"That's all I can remember. I'm sorry." She looked at him but he was still averting her gaze. "Yeah... well... then" There was a slight pause due to the tension filled atmosphere. But Buffy found a way to casually break it. "I'm going to go patrolling." She said as she stood up.

"Let me go with you." It was more of a statement than a question.

Angelus's plan was bullet proof. He had planned everything out to the finest detail. He had run every scenario though his mind and had prepared for them. But he was hungry. He had left the mansion in search of food as soon as the sun had gone down. He finally decided to go to the graveyard. There were always foolish teens they're looking for a quiet spot to make out, the perfect place to drink, or just the perfect place to hang out. Creepy yet is some morbid way soothing to their troubled souls. So off the graveyard he went. The blood lust shot up through him. He hadn't eaten in days, and he was in need of a quick fix. He scanned the graveyard for any sign on movement. Any sign of life. But all he could hear were the crickets merrily chirping away. But somewhere off in the distance he heard a faint hushing whisper of talking. There was some one there. He headed closer to where he heard the talking come from. As he neared his destination the voices got louder and louder. And he could already hear most of the conversation with his keen vampire hearing.

"I can't believe it. With all that's been happening you would think that there were be some vampires around. I mean it would be soooooo inconvenient for us. So why aren't there any?" Buffy questioned her Watcher.

"I don't know. There's a storm brewing here Buffy." Her Watcher replied to her looking around. Angelus smiled to himself as he crouched lower behind the bushes while he listened closely to what the pair were saying to one another.

"What are we going to be doing about Angel? You've been avoiding answering that question all night." Just as the petite blonde was about to reply, Angelus jumped out of the shadows.

"Yes Buff, what ARE you going to do?" Angelus murmured to himself. "I have an idea or two of what I'd do to you... But that isn't on the agenda at this particular moment."

Buffy sighed deeply as she sat on a gravestone. She looked up at the pale yellow moon, and paused just staring at it. She was drifting away from reality. "Do you ever wonder why the moon has all those holes?" She kept her gaze firmly locked on the moon. "At one point it had to be flawless and handsome. It had to have been something that every other thing up there wanted to have or be like. But then one day something just idly comes along and changes it all forever. It manipulates and distorts it... it ruins all the once handsome features, it overpowers all the beauty, and it changes everything..." She trailed off and tore her gaze from the sky and brought it to her watcher.

Giles nodded his head. He knew that they weren't just talking about the moon, they were talking about Angel. "Well, I imagine that the moon understands that things change. I believe that the moon decided to take it with a grain of salt and realized that nothing ever stays the same. Maybe the moon decided to make the best of it and move on with its life. If it couldn't go back to what it had, then it would just find out how to make it all work with less. But I don't know if you agree with that belief.

"I like that one." She smiled and stood up. "Thank you."

"No, thank you for not giving up yet."

"Well I know that I can't. And I won't. Now let's get outta here. I have this weird feeling and there aren't any vampire around. Plus I have to go check on Riley." She said as she wrapped her arms around Giles and hugged him.

Angelus stood watching awestruck in the shadows. After all he had done to her and her friends, she still cared about him enough not to kill him. Anger began to rise up in him. *How dare she!* He would get her back tonight. He would get her back for all the times she dared treat him like a man instead of the monster he was. He thought as he watched them walk out of the cemetery.

The hospital room was filled with stomach churning smells and head spinning sounds. Buffy looked down at the commando. His face was pale except for the few deep blue marks on his face where he had bruised. He was hooked up to a respirator that hummed along with the rhythmic beeps of the heart monitor. She raised her hand to caress his cheek. His skin felt cool. He had lost a substantial amount of blood. The doctors had said that he might not even last through the first night. But here he was proving the professionals wrong. Buffy pulled the chair in the corner up to the bed. She held his hand tightly and kept a close vigil. But after hours of rhythmic humming of the machinery Buffy began to doze.

Buffy sharply jolted out of her sleep. She looked around. She realized she had been sleeping. And something had woken her up. Some loud sound had brought her back to consciousness. She drowsily looked up. There was a familiar, tall, dark figure standing over her next to the bed. In her careless sleep she knew who it was. "Angel?" she said with a smile. After a few beats the past few days came rolling back at her and swept all the emotions back in one immense wave. She quickly got on her feet in a defensive stance. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"Oh, well I decided to have a little fun."
