someone metioned that Spike seemed to like Angel and Buffy together better than Buffy and Riley. I had written this story months before and now I have decided to post it. It's not very good, but don't tell me if it isn't because I don't take flames very well. People die, monsters come, i sing to little birdies like Drusilla. It's not pretty. Oh and feedback please!
Spike sighed heavily, trying his best to figure out something to keep him busy because for a vampire who could no longer feed or hit people for that matter, there wasn't a whole lot to do. The slayer had finished training with Giles and was no longer in that nice, tight, black little exercise outfit any longer, so all the fun and excitement of being strapped to a chair was slowly disappearing.
Buffy glanced over at the demon from her spot on the couch. If he didn't stop staring at her, she swore she was going to kill him.
"Spike, do I look like a piece of meat to you or something?"
"Depends on what kind of meat I'm thinking about at the moment," the vampire said, knowing his pervertedness would irk the hell out of her.
Buffy put on a look of disgust as she gazed back down at her psychology book. "Jesus, Spike..."
"What?!" Spike asked innocently.
Buffy suddenly felt glad Giles wasn't in the room. "Is everything about sex with you?"
"In your life, it is," Spike mumbled.
Buffy slammed her book shut. "Oh, and just what in the hell is that supposed to mean?!"
Spike glared. He was bored. He had to find something to do. And hurting Buffy seemed to be an open door.
"You know exactly what it means, pet. You had sex with that Parker prick, and look where it got you. You're depressing. You keep sulking around because you feel used. Well, boo - hoo, luv. None of this would have ever happened if you had kept Angelus in Sunnydale."
Buffy swallowed hard to keep from bursting into tears. "That's none of your business," she hissed.
"The hell it isn't! You still love him! You'll always love him! The only reason you shagged that disgrace to my male race who goes by the name Parker the asshole is to forget about Angel! However, it screwed up your life even worse!"
"Shut up!" Buffy screamed as she stood up.
"What is it, slayer? You finally realized that what I'm telling you is the truth? You love him. And you will always love him. Just like he will always love you."
Buffy grabbed her purse and walked out, slamming the door behind herself. Spike just grinned and stared at the college book she had left lying on the couch.
Spikey had a plan...

Buffy put her purse on her shoulder and wrapped her arms around herself. It was an unusual cold night in Sunnydale. Buffy wished she had brought her jacket. But more than that, she wished she had Angel's strong arms around her, giving her strength.
'I won't cry anymore,' her mind whispered. 'I won't cry anymore.'
But despite what she swore in her mind, the tears came, and she fell to the ground in a heap of them. She felt sadness and rage all rolled up into one in those salty droplets. She hated Spike for mentioning Angel, and she hated Angel for leaving her.
Oh, who was she kidding? She didn't hate Angel. She loved him more than life itself. She had the scar on her neck to prove it. She was just extremely angry at him for leaving. Didn't he know that as a slayer, her life would never be normal? Didn't he realize that?
'Stop crying. It's not going to bring him back.' Buffy managed to find the feeling in her legs again, and she stood up. She wiped her eyes dry.
No more crying like a big baby.
'Get yourself together. You've gotta move on. You've got to go home and study for that psych test and - '
And then it hit her. Her psychology book was still at Giles' - with Spike.

Spike hummed to himself in pride as his sire walked slowly down the stairs. "Enjoy the show, mate?"
Angel glared. "She didn't deserve that."
"Oh, and I deserve to be tied up? I can't hurt anybody! Can't you let me out for just a little bit so that I may tell you how much of a prick you are?"
Angel sighed and, against better judgement, he untied the demon. Spike immediately jumped up. "Now this is more like it," he said happily.
"I untied you. Now tell me why you hurt her like that."
"I'm not the one who hurt her, mate. You are. And besides, I said I would tell you how much of a prick you are."
"Okay, then," Angel growled in frustration. "How much of a prick am I?"
Spike smiled. This was going to be fun...
"A big one," he answered, "True, I don't really care about the slayer. Small, sexy thing. I wouldn't mind screwing her until my dick fell off. But - not to quote that Xander fellow - she has this big yen for you that she just isn't planning on letting go anytime soon. And I do mean not anytime soon. But I mean, let's examine this situation : You two meet, fall in love, shag. Then you lose your soul. Her understanding of that situation : She wasn't good enough, so you left her. Well, then you get your soul back and go to Hell. Her belief of the situation : She killed you, you left her. Finally, you come back, your head all screwed, and then you really do leave her. This time for good. What she believes deep down inside and what everyone else believes : You are a heartless, cruel, insensitive prick, and I was merely pointing out to her that she could have made you stay had she gotten the guts and jump your bones until the break of dawn."
Angel clenched his fists as his anger spilled over him. What right did Spike have to say those things?
"First of all, my life with Buffy is over and isn't - and never will - be any of your business! I never meant to hurt her! Ever!"
Spike scoffed. "Could have fooled me," he mumbled.
"You made it sound like the only reason I wanted her was for sex!"
Spike's smile grew as his looked over Angel's shoulder and saw the slayer standing in the doorway with an expression of confusion on her face. Angel's back was facing her, and Spike had absolutely no intentions of telling the vampire that she was there.
"Of course it sounds like that because it is the truth! She's told me all about it! Your words were that you wanted her to have someone who could give her children and make love to her! And those are direct quotes! But guess what, sirey?! You could have done all that!"
"The curse would have - "
"Oh, damn that bloody curse! It doesn't exist!"
A silence fell over the room, and Spike gazed at Buffy. Her jaw was hanging open, and the tears were steadily falling from her eyes.
Angel stared at him in surprise. "What?"
Spike looked back at him. "Oh, read up on gypsy curses! Hell, that watcher man won't even let me watch Passions during the day! All I can do is read! Because gypsy curses are usually for one specific person, the curse is only effective once! The number of times they can be cast is only twice in case the first time someone casts it something screws! No pun intended. But you and the slayer got jiggy, I guess is the term, and the curse broke! This means that since you were cursed twice - you poor man you - the second time makes sure you live in pain for your entire life. Meaning, nothing can break it! They didn't anticipate you shagging with someone, so of course if the spell was performed twice that it would always hold! So, Angel, congrats! You can screw all the fair, pretty blonde things you want - Buffy preferably because you two are an awful sight to look at when you are depressed over each other - and still be Mr. I - Killed - A - Whole - Bunch - Of - People - And - Now - I - Feel - Really - Bad - About - It! Confused?! Me, too, but don't worry about that!"
Angel felt his jaw drop, and he pulled it back quickly. "How did you find this out?"
Spike rolled his eyes. "Because I'm a genius," he answered sarcastically. "Did you eve listen to me?! I can't watch the telly! I have to read with Giles!" He shuddered, something no one had ever seen him do.
If any vampire could ever get paler ( and believe me this was most definately the moment ) Angel was the one to do so. Spike just smirked. He loved seeing his sire feel like a big idiot. For some reason, it gave him - oh, what did Xander call it? - a happy? Yeah, a happy.
"How do I know you're not lying?" Angel said.
Spike glared. "I am bloody tired of seeing that slayer sulk around like a sick puppy. Trust me, I'm telling the truth."
Angel shook his head. Even though everything he had ever wished for was coming true, he still could not do that to Buffy. He would never die. She would. He could never give her children. A normal life was something she could never have with him.
"I - I can't be with Buffy. There's no way."
"What are you talking about?!" Buffy screamed, walking into the house.
Angel whipped around to see his love staring at him with the tears falling quickly from her eyes. He asked himself silently how much of the conversation she had heard, yet he already knew the answer. The sadness and shock on her face said it all.
"I'll leave you two alone," Spike said with a smile. He walked past them and was almost out the door when he turned back to them. "I don't advise you shag on Giles' couch. He might not appreciate it, ya know what I mean?" He chuckled, and then left, shutting the door behind himself.
There was a moment of silence as the two stared at each other ; Then Buffy lost it.
"What do you mean you can't be with me?" she asked softly.
Angel sighed. "Buffy -"
"Are you crazy?! Are you out of your mind?! This our chance to be together, and you are letting it go! Do you have any idea how much I have been hurting ever since I watched you walk away?! Do you even know how long I have wished for something like this to happen?! Ever since we made love the first time, I have wished, and I have prayed for there to be a way for you to be with me! And now, you just want to say goodbye to it, and my heart is breaking all over again!"
Angel walked closer to her, trying to embrace her, but she pounded wildly on his chest. He reached for her wrists, gripping them to calm her down before she hurt him or herself. Her tears fell uncontrollably as her screams continued.
"Let me go, damn it! Don't touch me! You don't want to touch me, so why in hell should I let you?!"
"Buffy, calm down, please," Angel pleaded. In a quick motion, he pulled her against him and held her tightly. Buffy allowed her defenses to fall, and she wrapped her arms around his neck, crying into his black shirt and leather jacket.
Angel stroked her long, blonde hair and kissed the top of her head. His heart ached to feel her, to be with her. Yet, here was his chance, and he was fearful to take it.
"Angel, please..." Buffy's hoarse voice pleaded, "don't turn away from me again. Don't, please. I can't live if you do that to me again. W - We can be together now! We can build a life together!"
"Buffy, I am never going to die, but you will! Do you think I could bear that?! Do you think you could handle that?! And what about children?! You're going to want them someday even if only for a second!"
"I don't care about that!" she exclaimed, looking deeply into his soulful, brown eyes. "I want my life to be with you..."
Angel felt a single tear roll down his face as they kissed passionately. It felt wonderful to feel each other's lips again, and they would now be able to have that same feeling over and over for the rest of their lives.
"I love you," the vampire whispered.
Buffy choked out those same three words before crying into his chest once more. "Please don't leave me again, Angel," she said softly. "We can make this work. I know we can. Promise me that you won't leave me."
Angel kissed her. "I promise you, Buffy. I swear it on my life. I love you." And he meant those words. No matter how bad things got, no matter what happened, their relationship would carry on this time. Nothing was going to stop them. No one was going to tell them otherwise. They had a chance at a feeling of love and wanting that few people will ever know.
And they were going to take it.
*I never thought I would find
Somebody so right, so much like me
Then you cam along like
A tempest, you came on so suddenly
We've been taking our time
Been letting our hearts spin their own rhyme
But can't you tell me something?
Aren't I doing for what you're doing for me?
I'm bound the passion, intrigued by your mystery
But the questions I'm asking aren't getting the answers I need
We can't let this go
Oh, we have a chance at real love so few us ever know
We can't let this go
When love is tangled with pride it's so hard to describe or show
I never thought I would
For someone whose past is more present than me
But it seems now
That maybe I gave in too easily
Am I wasting my time?
You're making me question my own mind
Can't you tell me something?
Why do you ransom the love that ration me?
I gave you it all, and I gave it for free
But the questions I'm asking aren't getting the answers... I need...
And we can't let this go
Oh, we have a chance at real love so few of us ever know
And we can't let this go, oh
We've been trying this time, but it's hard to define what we are anymore
I've been doing my time
Just hoping that we can keep our love alive
Can't you tell me something?
Why do you ransom the love that you ration me?
I gave you it all, and I gave it for free
But these questions I'm asking aren't getting the answers... I need
We can't let this go
Oh, we have a chance at real love so few us ever know
We can't let this go
When love is tangled with pride it's so hard to describe or show
And we can't let this go, oh
We've been trying this time, but it's hard to define what we are anymore
We can't let this go
We've been trying this time, but it's hard to define what we are anymore*

Spike watched as the two lovers kissed passionately and more fervently before Angel whispered something in Buffy's ear, and she grinned as they ran out of the house to go do only God knows what kind of kinky fun stuff with each other. But Spike was actually happy for them, if you can believe that. Maybe it was because he had put them back together which was making him literally swell with pride. Yeah, that was it.
Spike chuckled. "I should start love match business." He nodded his head as he jumped on the couch and turned the television on with the remote control. "Yep," he agreed with himself. "Most definately. Spike - love matcher extraordinaire..."
*And we can't let this go...*
