The week had passed by in a blur. With Angel's help Buffy had gotten an A- in her Psyche exam. And Faith was dead. Giles had told her that Faith's inability to release her Slayer power had killed her. If a Slayer goes too long without a fight or training of some description, no way to release the power stored inside her, then it would build until the pressure inside a Slayer's body would burst her bloodvessels.

The real problem hadn't been with Faith's death, though. The new Slayer was missing. Her parents hadn't been able to accept her duties and had moved around continuously in an effort to hide her. They were unsuccessful, but about two years ago, the girl had accepted it and began training. Three weeks ago she had run away, two weeks later, she was called.

Buffy pulled out her satchel bag from under her bed. Inside she had placed her usual weekend clothes and other necessities...it was that time of the month again and she was hoping that Angel wouldn't notice.

Willow walked in, "Hey, Buffy. Spending the weekend with Riley again?" she asked hopefully.

Buffy stammered, "Umm...yeah."

Willow grinned. "You two are so perfect for each other! I'm so glad you guys made up."

Are all of my friends this blind? Buffy hurried out of the dorm.

Crawford street

To the 16 year brunette old hiding behind the bushes, the blonde walking into the mansion was someone to be praised. She had heard of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and knew that she wanted to learn from HER not those know-nothing, stick-in-the-mud Watchers! The 19 year old Slayer had stayed alive and probably would for some time. Buffy would teach her how to be a better Slayer, not those slacker cowards.

No one would tell her what to feel!

Angel's Mansion
10:45pm

Buffy couldn't find Angel. Usually he was waiting for her in front of the fire. She finally tried his bedroom. He was laying in his bed and as far as she could tell, he was asleep. It was kind of early for him, he must really be tired.

She took off her jacket and put it in the closet with her other clothes, then joined him under the covers and fell asleep.

Willow, Oz, Anya and Xander were just sitting around doing nothing.

Something on the dance floor caught Xander's attention. "Hey, Will? Didn't you say that Buffy was spending the weekend with Riley?"

She nodded.

"Then why is he over there with some redhead?" Xander asked.

They all looked up. Anya, typical former Patron Saint of Women Scorned that she was, stormed over to Riley.

"Where's Buffy?"

"I don't know! We aren't together anymore."

"Oh." She walked back to Xander and sat in his lap and started kissing him. Then she dragged him outside and went home.

Back inside, Willow and Oz were wondering what just happened, but quickly dismissed it and took a leaf from the other couple's book and went home.

Angel's Mansion
Sunday 3:26am

Angel awoke to a beautiful sight. Buffy was lying on his chest, sleeping peacefully. Then he smelt the blood. Oh, God! Okay, don't think about, it Angel, don't think about how you could just...STOP! SOUL, remember!

Suddenly, Angel sensed another presence. Hopefully this will keep my thoughts away from...ggrrr. He looked toward the doorway, standing there was a teenage girl.

She slowly made her way toward the bed and sat down. Just as Buffy woke up, Angel sensed this girl was the missing Slayer.

Before Buffy could react to the intruder, she introduced herself.

"I'm Janice, the new Slayer."

"So, you left because you wanted me to teach you how to be a Slayer?" Buffy asked. "Why?" She was confused, why would a Slayer want to be like her?"

"Like you, I was trained pretty late. I like that I can help save the world and stuff, but I don't like being told how to act and how to feel. I figured that if I wanted to become a successful Slayer, I should learn from the best. That would be you. From what I understand, you're the best Slayer ever, but you have a life! You have a boyfriend and friends! Okay, things don't always go your way, but it always works out."

Buffy worried over this, "You won't tell them that Angel and I are together, will you?"

Janice smiled, "Hey, as long as he doesn't lose his soul and try to kill us, I'll be your cover if I have to be. I'm all for having a life and no interfering idiots."

It was getting close to daybreak and everyone would be at Giles' after 8am. Buffy headed to the kitchen, dragging Janice and Angel along.

"Come on. Are you hungry?" Janice nodded. "Well, after we eat, you can use one of the spare rooms to catch up on some sleep. I'll take you to meet the gang later on today."
