RATING: PG-14. Some sexual innuendo, but nothing too
bad
SUMMARY: Buffy and Angel have a dinner party thing (at
Angel's apartment), (The loophole is non existent, of
course!) but disasters and wackiness ensues. *grin*
FLUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!
Buffy grinned as her lover advanced towards her, a wicked smirk on his lips. She swung herself up onto the kitchen table and waited for him to reach her, her heartbeat already quickening. He had that really intensive look in his eyes that she knew so well. The look that told her he'd found his target.
He snaked his arms around her waist and slipped his hands down to the soft curve of her ass, squeezing gently before pulling her closer to him. She giggled and wrapped her legs around his waist, nestling him between her thighs.
'Missed you.' She pouted, her lower lip jutting out seductively.
'Missed you too sweetheart.' He replied huskily, his eyes' burning into hers with a sudden fire. Before Buffy could reply, Angel was kissing her, gently nibbling on her lower lip before soothing it with his tongue. She moaned softly before looping her arms around his neck and pulling him as close as possible. It took all of her self-control to pull away five minutes later, only to have Angel pulled her flush against him again and slip his hand up her shirt.
She wiggled out of his arms and slapped him playfully across the chest, her hands lingering there to trail a path across the contours and muscles. 'Stop that.' She scolded gently. 'We can't.'
'Can't what?' Angel teased.
'Do. stuff.' She stammered, suddenly embarrassed.
Sensing her shyness Angel chuckled and kissed her gently, dropping the subject. 'You're cute when you're shy.' He added, unable to resist just one last tease.
'I'm not shy.' Buffy insisted stubbornly.
'Then finish your sentence.' He challenged.
'Finish the sentence?' she echoed. 'What sentence?'
'You're not getting out of it that easily, Miss Summers.'
'Fine.' Buffy muttered in annoyance. 'We can't make love. Happy?'
'I'm sorry, I was just teasing.' Angel frowned in concern at her apparent annoyance. 'Don't be mad sweetheart, please.'
'I'm not mad.' She said quietly. 'Not at you, anyway.'
'What's wrong?' All teasing had gone from his voice, leaving an intensity and concern that was completely Angel.
She smiled slightly, despite herself. 'I'm fine. I just wish we didn't have to have this dinner thing.' She sighed heavily and Angel waited patiently for her elaborate. 'I mean, I just wanted some time alone with you. Some *us* time, but now we have to have this party and I'm not gonna-'
'Hey,' he interrupted her gently. 'I promise you we'll have plenty of 'us' time after they've gone. Believe me, I want to do things to you right this second and I'm just as annoyed as you are that dinner is going to stop me, but you'll get to see your friends, and afterwards. well, trust me, we'll have plenty of fun. And,' he added, 'didn't you want to wear that new dress you bought? The one you wouldn't let me see?'
A small smile crept over her face and Angel knew he was making progress in cheering her up. 'You're the best boyfriend ever.' She told him happily as she wrapped her arms back around him and cuddled up against him. 'Love you.'
'Love you too,' Angel assured her, loving the thrill that ran through his body at the sound of those two words being spoken by his beloved. 'Now, I do believe that we have a good hour before they arrive, and since it takes you about 50 minutes to get ready, I'd say we have about 10 minutes left-'
'Hey!' Buffy protested. 'It does not take me 50 minutes to get dressed!'
'Oh, my mistake.' Angel teased. 'Time just goes so slowly when I'm separated from you.'
'What's gotten into you?' Buffy giggled. 'You're just full of jokes. Anyway, if I remember correctly, you're not separated from me when I get changed. You like to watch.'
Angel grinned at her unrepentantly. 'You've found out my secret.' He declared in mock horror.
'Seriously, what's up with you?' she demanded, trying to keep her expression as stern as possible.
'Nothing, I'm just happy to see you.' Angel laughed.
'Okay.' She replied doubtfully.
Their conversation died away only to replaced with gentle kisses and caresses. The couple continued to kiss and cuddle for the next few minutes before Angel finally pulled away.
'Why'd you stop?' Buffy whimpered.
'Because, Beloved, this may only be light stuff but it's still having an effect.'
Buffy looked at him in confusion. 'Having an effect? Oh!' She blushed slightly but grinned non-the less. 'You think it's not having an effect on me? If I have to deal with the consequences then I'm sure you can as well, and-'
'It's not visible for you.' Angel defended. 'You can sit through the dinner with-'
'Wet panties?' Buffy giggled.
'Yes.' Angel growled, feeling his erection grow a considerable amount at the thought of Buffy in wet panties. 'How wet are they?'
'You're asking how wet my panties are?' It was her turn to tease. 'They might not be wet at all.'
He knew she was playing with him; he could smell her arousal clearly and the fast racing of her heartbeat. 'Then maybe I should make them wet.' He smirked.
'Any wetter and they'll be dripping.' She informed him.
The verbal foreplay was having an effect on both of them and Angel was aware that if she didn't go and get changed soon they'd never leave the kitchen table. 'Look what you've gotten me into.' Angel groaned. 'I come in here to give you a kiss and see how you are, my intentions completely innocent, and you end up making me so hard I don't know what the hell I'm going to do.'
Buffy felt herself grow even wetter at the imagery his words conjured up and forced herself to stare at the clock on the wall in an attempt to calm down. 'I'm going to get changed.' She said firmly after a few moments.
Angel stepped back and out of her way, relieved that she had the strength to walk away so that he didn't have to. If she had chosen to make love to him right there and then he would have been helpless against the onslaught. As it was, what she said next was almost enough to leave him incapable of speech. She turned around to face him as she approached the door and smiled sweetly. 'Unfortunately I think I've left my spare pair of panties at home. I guess I'll have to sit through dinner without any.'
She then walked away leaving an extremely turned on Angel stood alone in the middle of the kitchen with images of Buffy sitting through dinner commando running though his mind. How the hell was he meant to survive *that*?

'You ring the doorbell.' Willow said nervously.
'Why me?' Xander demanded. 'You think I wanna ring it and have Dead Boy bite my head off?!'
'That's not what I meant.' Willow stammered. 'I just don't want to interrupt them. I'm allowed to be nervous, I've never been to Angel's for dinner before. You ring the bell.'
'I'm not worried about *going* to dinner, I'm worried about *being* dinner!'
'Don't be ridiculous.' Cordy rolled her eyes'.
'I'm serious. He almost bit me last time I came here.' Xander insisted.
'You didn't even knock though.' Willow pointed out. 'You just walked in in the middle of the day and woke him up.'
'How was I supposed to know he'd been sleeping?' Xander retorted defensively.
'Duh! He's a vampire!' Cordy exclaimed. 'Jeez, could I be dating anyone more idiotic?'
'If you're so brave, you knock.' Xander challenged.
'I'm not worried about being bitten. I'm worried about interrupting something.' Cordy explained, as if speaking to a child.
'Exactly!' Willow agreed glad someone else could understand the term 'courteous'.
'Some how I don't think we're on the same wave length Will.' Cordy laughed. 'I'm worried about interrupting something that might just scar me for life.'
Willow looked at her in confusion for a brief moment before turning bright red and stammering out, 'Oh, no, they wouldn't be. not now, not just before we're arriving, not.'
'Buffy and Angel are unstoppable.' Cordy laughed. 'I wouldn't be surprised at all.'
Giles approached Angel's porch to find Willow, Cordelia and Xander all stood outside involved in what looked to be quiet a heated discussion, including dramatic hand gestures courtesy of Xander. They all turned to look at him and relief flooded all their faces.
'Giles! You'll knock, right?' Cordy asked hopefully.
'Knock?' Giles repeated in bewilderment. 'What are you all doing outside?'
At that moment Angel opened the door, an expression of amusement playing across his features. 'I've been wondering that myself.' He decided not to remind them that vampire hearing came in very useful at times.
'Angel!' Willow said nervously. 'Hi! You're not, erm, busy, no that's not what I meant, I meant, you're not doing anyone- I mean doing anything, are you?' Angel watched with growing amusement as Willow stammered her way through her speech. It took all his control not to break into laughter right there and then.
'Actually, yes.' He replied in as solemn voice as possible. 'I was actually on top of the fridge.' Willow let out a little squeak and Cordy's mouth actually dropped open.
'I was with Ernie.' Angel continued, loving the look of disbelief on their faces. Giles and Xander hadn't got a clue what they were talking about, but the girls' reactions were hilarious.
'Ernie? Who on earth is Ernie?' Cordy continued to stare at Angel in bewilderment. *What was Angel doing on top of the fridge with a girl named Ernie? And for that matter, was Ernie and girl or a guys name?!*
'Yes, Ernie,' Angel continued. 'She was sucking-' He wasn't able to finish his sentence. The look on their faces was too funny and he collapsed in a fit of laughter.
They continued to stare at Angel in disbelief, wondering silently whether he was having some kind of mid-life crisis or break down. Seeing him laughing uncontrollably was almost as shocking as learning that he'd been on top of the fridge with a girl, or possibly guy, named Ernie. Cordy was still trying to get over the awful name.
Buffy came out of Angel's bedroom to see what was going on to find her boyfriend in a fit of laughter and her friends looking as if they'd just been informed that the world was flat.
'What's going on? Angel? Honey?'
'I caught something about 'Ernie'?' Giles offered, completely unaware of the sexual innuendo that had been going on.
'Oh! Ernie.' Buffy grinned.
'You know Ernie?' Willow asked incredulously.
'Of course.' Buffy laughed. 'I've been begging Angel to take him up to the top of the fridge for ages.'
'Ernie's a boy?!' Xander exclaimed, finally catching on.
'Not quite.' Buffy gave them all an odd look. 'It's not even a person.'
'*It*?' Cordy and Willow echoed in unison.
'Angel's hover.' Buffy explained. 'I called him Ernie coz he's really sweet and little and red.'
Angel finally calmed down, only to crack up again at the new expressions on everyone's faces.
'But.but we thought.' Willow stammered. 'He said he was up on top of the fridge with her. that she was sucking.' she grew even redder and looked down at the ground.
Buffy finally pieced together what had happened and laughed slightly before playfully hitting her still recovering boyfriend.
'I'm sorry about him,' Buffy apologised. 'He's been in a wacky mood all night.'
'I'm rather confused.' Giles spoke up.
'It's best that you stay that way.' Cordy replied.
'I'm sorry Willow, Cordy.' Angel said seriously, now completely calm.
'Actually, it was quite funny.' Cordy laughed. 'I'm surprised that you could be so funny. You're a funny guy Angel.'
Buffy shifted uncomfortably at her friend's flirting but didn't say anything. Angel seemed to sense her unease, because he slipped his arm around her waist and planted a gentle kiss on top of her forehead. Buffy smiled at him gratefully and lead back against him, proud that he was *her* boyfriend. Her eyes widened when she felt his erection press up against her back but she kept silent.
'Do I get an apology Dead Boy?' Xander demanded.
'No.' Angel said simply.
'Why not?'
'I'm not even going to dignify that question with a response.'
The girls rolled their eyes at the banter and before an argument could break out, Buffy was pulling Angel into the kitchen, calling back to the others and telling them that they were just bring in the dinner and for them to get themselves comfy on the couch and chairs in the living room.
Buffy pulled the door closed and slipped her arms around her lover, raising up on tiptoes to nuzzle her nose against his.
'Please be nice.' Buffy said softly.
'I was having fun.' Angel protested.
'I know sweetie,' Buffy giggled, 'but if you're nice to him I promise to make it worth your while afterwards.'
Angel quirked an eyebrow and grinned. 'That sounds promising.'
'Oh, it will be.' Buffy assured him, batting her eyelashes at him.
Angel laughed and captured her lips in a gentle kiss. 'I'll be nice.'
'Thank you.'
'But if he calls me Dead Boy again, am I allowed to kill him?' Angel asked.
Buffy looked thoughtfully. 'Hmmm.'
'I'll do it in the nicest way.' He pleaded.
Their eyes met and they laughed. 'It's tempting.' Buffy giggled. 'But no.'
Angel just shook his head at their joke and pulled her into his arms once again. To be able to joke with Buffy like this, and to see her laugh and smile was all he had ever wanted, and now he had that and so much more. And he was the luckiest man alive. Or, more correctly, undead.
'What are you two doing in there?' Xander called out loudly.
'I don't hear crashing.' Cordy offered helpfully.
'Or banging.'
Buffy placed one last kiss on Angel's lips before she picked up the nearest dish, which happened to be salad, and carried it into the living room. Angel followed her in with two more dishes.

Buffy was curled up tightly in Angel's arms; the two of them sprawled across the sofa. In front of them, strewn on the floor, were empty plates mixed in with napkins and glasses. Buffy surveyed the mess and couldn't help but grin slightly. The dinner had been a success, and Angel and Xander had even managed to get on. Well, if ignoring each other could be classed as getting on. On the bright side, they hadn't killed each other.
'Well, this was delicious.' Giles complimented. 'I must say, you're an excellent cook, Angel.'
'Hey! I helped.' Buffy pointed out.
'Uh oh.' Cordy muttered. 'Then we might just have been poisoned.'
'What, exactly, is that meant to mean?'
'Your cooking skills aren't exactly excellent.'
Xander pointed out. 'Remember in Food tech? We were meant to make an omelette, but yours came out *Green*?'
Angel laughed, earning himself a glare from his girlfriend. 'I'm sorry Baby. You were a big help.' He assured her. 'I couldn't have do all this without you.'
She beamed at him and snuggled deeper into his chest, loving the warmth and thrill that she got from the contact of his cold body against her warm one. They were like night and day. One couldn't exist without the other.
The conversation moved onto art, a topic that Buffy absolutely hated, and soon she found herself shutting out all voices except Angel's, who she listened to intently, loving the sound of his deep and gentle voice. It soothed her and lolled her into the realms of sleep and dreams. Dreams of Angel.
Angel glanced down at Buffy to find her fast asleep and a tender smile crossed his features. Feeling as though she was trespassing on a very intimate and special moment, Willow stood, informed everyone quietly that she was extremely tired, and said her goodbyes. Giles caught on quickly and excused himself as well. Together they dragged Cordy and an oblivious Xander out of the front door.
Angel surveyed the mess on the floor and chuckled softly. That could wait. Right now he had more important things to do, such as putting his beloved into bed.
