Jack gave Angel an evil smirk as he watched the dark vampire brood in the corner. "You may not want to fight now," His told Angel, his smirk turning into a feral grin. "So we thought we'd give you an incentive."

He turned and motioned to the guards by the door, they disappeared for a few moments. Angel looked up in horror as the two guards dragged in the motionless body. Her head was slumped down, causing the tendrils of blonde hair to fall about her face. The guards dropped her at Jack's feet, just in front of Angel.

"Buffy," Angel whispered, kneeling down in front of the unconscious Slayer.

Jack knelt over the petite blonde. "She's a pretty little thing, gave us a lot of trouble when we picked her up, but then again we weren't expecting the Slayer either. I may let her fight in the ring, haven't decided yet. Then again I may beat her into submission and let the guys fuck her anyway they can."

Angel shot up to face his captor, his game face slipping firmly into place. "You leave her out of this!" He growled.

"Now that's what we like to see." He paused looking Angel in the eyes. He pulled out a large knife from behind his back and picked the unconscious girl up by the hair, placing the blade at the base of her throat. "You fight and she lives, you try anything else and I won't hesitate in cutting her throat. You got that Slave."

"This plan had better work." Cordelia stated firmly, coming into the office.

Wesley barely had time to reaffirm the quality of the plan before they were interrupted by the blaring ring of the telephone. Cordelia deftly answered it.

"Angel, you are in serious tro....oh, hi Giles. No, we haven't seen her....well to be honest we haven't even seen Angel in the last 24 hours." She was silent for a moment while she listened to Giles. "Ok we'll let you know if we see her."

Gravely she looked up at Wesley. "Buffy's missing. You don't think..."

"No, that would be impossible." Wesley laughed half-heartedly, then looked up at Cordelia under his lashes. Immediately they both grabbed their jackets and rushed out the door.

***************

Angel paced around the holding cell like a caged beast. The fight started in less than an half hour and he had yet to see any more of Buffy. He stopped his pacing when he heard the main doors open and Jack walked in pushing the blonde Slayer in front of him.

"Angel!" She cried and tried to rush to him, but Jack stopped her shortly before she crossed the thick red line.

"Wouldn't try that, might not like what happens." He sneered.

Angel stepped up to the line so he was looking into her hazel eyes, then glanced down to her wrist to see a matching bracelet. He felt his undead heart twist in pain as his mahogany eyes looked back into hers.

"I had an epiphany this afternoon, and decided that she should fight in the Ring tonight." Jack informed Angel. "She'll be fighting Trebkos instead of you."

Angel's eyes widened in shock as did Buffy's. The look of despair that passed between the two could not be mistaken by any others in the room. Jack smiled in wicked satisfaction at the look between the two ex-lovers and signaled for the fights to begin.

As the announcer introduced the fighters Buffy was pushed out into the ring. Trebkos walked past Angel, looking the dark vampire in the eyes. "I'll kill her quickly."

"I won't let you." Angel replied to himself.

***********

Angel watched the fight quietly from the shadows. Buffy was holding her own against Trebkos, but it wouldn't last much longer. He looked at the guards then at the door. They were enthralled by the current conflict as were everyone else. The door was free. At that moment, he heard Buffy cry out in pain. His features changed swiftly and he bolted out the door into the ring.

He grabbed the demon around the neck and tossed him against the wall, causing the crowd to crow louder. Trebkos lunged for Angel, hitting him square in the jaw. Angel reeled back, a thick stream of blood coming from his busted lower lip. The crowd howled in pleasure as the demon and the vampire continued to fight. That was quickly ended, however, Wesley appeared in the stands above the ring holding Darin at gun point. Cribb rushed out at the head of the rest of the demons as they took out the rest of the guards. With the guards out the way the other demons quickly disappeared.

Cribb went to Buffy first unlocking her bracelet, then to Trebkos and finally Angel. Angel hoisted himself into a standing position then almost fell back down, but he found Buffy's small frame supporting his larger one.

"Let's go home." She murmured into his chest.

"Yeah."

The End

I know, shoddy ending, and not quite fluffy as it should be, well it's not fluffy at all, but I just couldn't figure out how to end it on a fluffy note.
