Light

by Amber

Disclaimer: I don't really need to include one for this one, do I? You wouldn't be able to tell it was Buffy if you didn't watch the show, but anyway they're not mine.
Summary; A poem that could be taken as Faith's POV at the end of 5x5 or Angel's POV when he first got his soul back.
FEEDBACK: PLEASE!!!!!! !!!

Out of the ashes,
Sprung from the depths,
Into the light,
So near my sight,

Away from the darkness,
The anger,
The pain,
Whatever will I gain?

The loss of the fear,
The bitter loneliness I must endure,
I can not see the light,
It's fading fast,
Becoming quickly a part of my past,

The crumbling path to my fate,
Longing for a blessed end to all this hate,

An eternity of tears and death,
Stumbling through the stinging pain,
Struggling into the light,
Never ceasing to stop the fight.

I am misguided; I know this well.
Rapidly sinking into Hell,
Begging for release,
Pleading for sleep,
Simply wanting any peace,

My ebbing strength,
Fading hope,
Wondering always how to cope,
Still wanting peace.
Still wanting a release.
But still I kill.
One night soon,
On the eve of a new moon,
An angel comes,
Trying to show me the right trail,
I resist; I will not change,
I want my death, not more pain.
He forces me to see.
To see the real me.

What is real and what is not?
Oh, dear god my nerves are shot . . .

The End
