Summary: Cordelia leaves Sunnydale, only one thing is different- Buffy goes
too.
Disclaimer: Buffy and anything you recognise from Buffy or ANGEL aren't
mine. They belong to Joss Whedon, FOX, the WB, Mutant Enemy...a whole lot of
people who aren't me. The song is Road Trippin' by Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
Thats where I got the title from, too. So it's theirs.
Thanks: To my brother, for buying this CD, and because he actually is a nice
guy and complimented my site and my fic. =)
More Notes: This is going to be a series, with the working title of Make Up,
Move On (any other ideas would be mucho appreciated!!) I'm working on the
second story now. I've written other stuff that isn't really B/A stuff, but
go to my site, Denial Is Bliss (shameless
plug) to read them. =)
Even More Notes: Alot of this is song lyrics, but I had to set up the
series. Its short.
// Road Trippin with my two favourite allies
Fully loaded we got snacks and supplies
Its time to leave this town
Its time to steal away
Lets go get lost
Anywhere in the USA
Lets go get lost
Lets go get lost
Blue you sit you so pretty
West of the one
Sparkles light with yellow icing
Just a mirror for the sun
Just a mirror for the sun
Just a mirror for the sun
These smiling eyes are just a mirror for the
So much as come before those battles lost and won
This life is shining more then forever in the sun
Nows lets check us our hearts
And let us check the surf
Staying through high and dry's
More trouble then its worth
In the sun
Just a mirror for the sun
Just a mirror for the sun
Just a mirror for the sun
These smiling eyes are just a mirror for
In Big Sur we take some time to linger on
We three hunky dory's gout our snakefinger on
Now let us drink the stars
Its time to steal away
Lets go get lost
Right here in the USA
These smiling eyes are just a mirror for
These smiling eyes are just a mirror for
Your smiling eyes are just a mirror for. //
Cordelia pulled the handbrake outside the place where the gang was gathered. Giles place. She could go inside, and say goodbye. Or she could drive, take her pain, her bruised and battered heart and drive. She had the choice.
A car door slamming pulled Buffy from her trance. No-one else had heard it, it was across the street, but with her extra-sensitive hearing, she'd picked it up. She went unnoticed as she slipped outside.
Cordelia's car was parked across the street, and she stood beside it. Black sunglasses hiding her hurt, and tears. Her lips formed the words 'goodbye' and her hand moved to the door.
"Cordy, wait." Buffy whispered. The May Queen looked up.
"Buffy, hi. I was just going to stop off to ask what we were doing. Then I remembered. I'm cooler then you people." but the sting wasn't there. It wasn't even emotional at all.
"No you weren't, Cordy. You're leaving, aren't you?" she nodded. Buffy walked to the otherside of the car, opened the door and hopped in.
"I'm coming too. I need to get out." she waited as Cordelia started the engine.
"I'm leaving for good, Buffy, this isn't some little trip." she nodded.
Buffy smiled a little sadly. "My bags are packed. They're in my room at home. We can get them on the way."
Cordelia still looked unsure. "Lets drive, Cordy. Let the roads lead us where they want to."
