What am I doing? It's my 19th birthday, and I haven't mentioned Angel once. I'm making out with Riley on my bed. His hand is moving up my shirt. Oh I can't do this...thank you Willow!

Fire demon? Anything to take my mind off today and the memories of two years ago...Oh God, they've thrown me a surprise party. How could they? Don't they even *remember* my last surprise party? I don't believe this! Oh, there's Giles.

Do I even know half these people here? Giles, Riley. Riley, Giles. This is going good so far...wait, *why* do I want it to go good with Riley. I still love Angel. Can *NO ONE* see that anymore? Or have I just convinced them I'm over him?

Giles is giving me annoyed face. Well, it's better than but face. Did I tell Giles about Riley? Of course I did, he's the first person I would tell.

Maggie Walsh is so cool. Woah, did that just come from me? Riley's killed 17 vamps and demons *combined*. 17's a big number...not.

Oh Riley, SHUT UP! I don't care how strong I am. I really don't. Tell him it's not a big deal. Soothe his ego. Good, he's seemed to calm down. I miss Angel...

Giles! A demon attacked Giles! Angel didn't get me a birthday present...But Giles! If Giles is dead...no. I know he's not. Riley? What are you doing here? Go away, this is personal. Giles is my friend and I care about him. You hurt his feelings at my "party". Angel would never do that....Wow, automatic 911 everywhere? That's pretty impres...unimpressive! So what, I have Giles, and he's better than 911.

Well, if he's alive.

The demon attacked Maggie Walsh. Ha ha, I hope it killed her and not Riley. Why are my thoughts so different from my actions. Two years ago me and Angel were making...Hey! WOAH!!!

Where do you get off telling me *I* can't come to my own fight Riley? I'm brining you along to make you feel all macho, and I don't give a crap if your "professor" said no. And you know what, I *like* breaking down doors! I don't care about your master key! All though anywhere in the city....I wonder if that works in LA? I could steal it, sneak into Angel's room...

So yeah, we're in a hotel now, I'm kicking the crap out of some demon while Riley attempts to hurt Ethan. Angel would've succeeded.

Score! I stabbed the demon with the silver. Oh...OH!!! GILES!!! I've killed Giles! The demon was Giles. ETHAN!!!

Oh, okay good.The letter opener wasn't real silver. DUH Buffy! Everyone's ok now. Oh no, I *didn't* tell Giles about Riley. Ooopsies. Ok, well, I'll fix that.

Now that's taken care of. There's five minutes left until midnight and Angel still hasn't sent me a present....

At 11:59 there was a knock at Buffy's door. She opened it and saw a man with a box. "This is for Buffy Summers."

She thanked him and shut the door.

Buffy tore the box open and saw that there was a ring box. She opened it and saw that it was a claddaugh ring. Tears ran down her face.

She looked inside the box again and found a note.

Buffy-

No, I would never forget your birthday.
I got you another ring to replace the other one.
You can wear it pointing in to show that you belong to your new boyfriend.

Happy Birthday.
Angel

Buffy wiped her tears away and slipped the ring on, heart pointing in.

But she wasn't wearing it for Riley
