Buffy woke, for a moment cherishing being back in her own bed, her lover in bed beside her, and arm thrown possessively around her waist. She rolled over, her gaze tracing his features, relaxed by sleep. As if woken by her stare, his eyes opened sleepily. "Morning."
He smiled, eyes still heavy with sleep. His arm tightened around her, pulling her body closer. "Morning, Wife."
"Hey." She complied with his kiss, but pulled back as he rolled to his back, bringing her over on top of him. "Sorry, lover. I promised Willow I'd go over there this morning."
His hands travelled up her sides, dancing along the smooth skin. She grinned, shaking her head as she climbed off of him, easily avoiding his hand as it reached for her. "I've got to go. I'm running by the sore on the way. I'll see you when I get back?"
Angel propped himself up on an elbow, watching as Buffy slipped on shorts and a tank top. "I'm going into your mom's gallery today, remember?"
Buffy turned as she ran a brush through her hair. "How about I come get you for lunch then?"
"Around noon?"
"I'll be there," replied Buffy, leaning over the bed to indulge in a kiss. "Love you."
"Love you."

Buffy paused at the entrance to the drug store. It was nine in the morning, and there was barely anyone in the store. Taking a deep breath, she moved up and down the aisles, her eyes searching. She stopped in one near the back by the pharmacy. She cursed under her breath, wondering how the hell she was going to choose and why the hell they needed so many different types. Grimacing, she grabbed a box with a recognizable name and moved to the counter, plopping it down along with the cash.
The older woman gave her a disapproving look, as if she was too young. Buffy just stared, damn it, she was twenty five. Crossing her arms, she tried to look as menacing as possible, finding that even after 4 years of non slaying, it was an easy task. She snatched the plastic bag from the cashier's hand and moved outside, breaking into an easy run as the doors slid shut behind her.

"So what do I do?" Buffy asked, pacing the floor of Willow's bedroom.
Willow was seated in the middle of her bed, box and direction in her hands. "You pee on the strip, then we wait. If it turns blue, you're not. Pink, you are."
"That's simple enough." She took the wand and disappeared into the bathroom, emerging a few minutes later. Buffy perched nervously on the bed, her hands twisting in her lap.
"So what are we hoping for?" asked Willow, breaking the heavy silence in the room.
"I don't know. The though to having Angel's child..its just I don't know. I know he wants kids, but they way we talk, not for a few more years."
"Oh Buffy, I don't know what to tell you. I think he'd be thrilled."
"I think the time is up," mumbled Buffy, but she made no move to the bathroom.
"Aren't you going to look?" prodded Willow.
Buffy froze, fear uncharacetistically visible on her features. "Will, I, I can't. Look for me?"
Willow scooted off the bed, patting Buffy's knee as she passed her friend. A second or two flew by an Willow returned, an unreadable expression on her face.
"Am I?" she asked, her voice soft as her hands rested on her stomach. "What color was it?"
"Blue. But that's good right? You weren't sure if you were ready. Now you have time. It was probably just wedding stress. That happens.sorry I'm babbling. This is what you wanted, right?"
"I thought so. But I think I just realized how much I really wanted to be." Buffy looked up at her friend. "I never thought I'd have a chance to be married, let alone have kids. I didn't think I'd make it past twenty at times; or that I'd ever be back with Angel. I want it all though. Everything life can give me, I want it; maybe to make up for the crap that I went through before."
"Buffy, you're going to get it all, I know you are. Because you deserve it more than any of us."
"Thanks."
"Are you going to tell Angel?"
"I'm not going to have much of a choice; I'm going to have to. He knows me too well for me to hide anything that is bothering me." She sighed, glancing at her watch. "I'm meeting him for lunch soon. I'll talk to you later?"
"Yup. Good luck."

Buffy pushed open the door to Joyce's gallery, the tiny bell jingling as it shut behind her. The store was bright, well lit, the walls hung with tasteful paintings and the floor scattered with art on pedestals.
Angel was on the other side of the main room, speaking with an older woman dripping with jewelry. He looked in her direction, a bright smile on his lips. She attempted a happy smile, but it didn't fool him, because concern quickly colored his features.
Their gazes locked as their souls spoke to each other. He gave her one last look before turning back to the customer as she headed toward Joyce's office. They both knew they would talk later.
"Hi mom."
"Buffy." Her mom looked up from paperwork that was spilling over her desk. "You and Angel going to lunch?"
Buffy nodded. "He's with a customer." Buffy sat in the chair across from her mom. "How are things? We didn't get to talk much at the airport the other day."
Her mother grimaced. "Those twins. And I thought you were a handful. They decided it would be fun to decorate Kenneth's room in mud." Buffy groaned. "Just you wait until you have kids. Its not as easy as it seems."
"Planning grandkids already, Joyce?" Angel's voice laughed from the doorway.
Buffy tried to hide the wince at the comment. Pasting on a bright smile that she rationally knew wouldn't fool him, she twisted in her chair to look at her husband. "You ready to go?"
Angel nodded, putting an arm around her as she neared him. "Bye, Joyce. We'll bring back a sandwich for you."

Buffy shifted uneasily. Angel's looks since they'd left the gallery had been intense, but not in his usual, loving, I-want-to-ravish-you, way. He knew something was up with her.
Angel sat beside her on the blanket. They'd picked up sandwiches at a local deli and had gone to Weatherly Park, brining along a blanket from the car.
"Buffy, is there something wrong?"
She bowed her head, avoiding his gaze as she picked at a loose thread on the blanket. "Wrong? Why would something be wrong?"
"Buffy." Angel's voice as tender in worry as he reached out to tip her chin up. His eyes locked with hers. "Please let me try and help."
Buffy wrapped her arms around her knees. Sighing she steeled herself against tears. "I went to Willow's to take a pregnancy test. I'm not," she added hastily, before he spoke, missing the glimmer of happiness and shock in his eyes. "But I didn't realize until I got the results just how much I wanted to be. I know we've been saying its so nice it being just the two of us, but Angel, I really wanted that child. Even if we were just married, I want that."
"Baby, oh love," he said, pulling her into his arms. "Why would you worry that I don't want that too? The thought of my child growing here," he placed his hand against her flat stomach, "is intoxicating. That we made something out of the love we share. You know that we've planned on children, why would you worry so much?"
"Its just, so early Angel. We've only been married less than two weeks."
"Baby, I've wanted your children since we started dating. It was a dream then, but now it can come true. If it happens now, or in a few years, or even not at all, I'm still going to love you and be with you."
Buffy smile happily through her tears, casting a quick look around their area. They'd picked a secluded spot luckily, off the usual beaten track. She nuzzled his neck softly, lightly nipping at his ear. "Angel," she whispered, "how about we try and make one now?"
He growled playfully, quickly rolling her onto her back, and propped himself above her. He paused for a moment before claiming her lips, as he looked down at his fair-haired goddess laying in wait for him.

An older couple, walking through the park holding hands, were startled out of their quiet reflection by rather loud moans coming from a cluster of trees nearby. Their easy pace quickly picked up.
