Part five: Let's have some fun.
Library 18th march 2000
Angel chuckled to himself as he watched Buffy knock Giles down for the fifth time in twenty minutes. He was standing on the balcony while Buffy worked out with Giles in the area below.
"So, Giles. Ready to admit defeat yet?" The slayer asked, smirking in amusement.
"Never!" He replied.
"You know, Giles, just because I'm pregnant doesn't mean I'm any weaker." She said easily flipping him onto his back. " In fact, I think I'm stronger."
Giles stood up and brushed himself off.
"You may be right. You're in excellent condition. I think I'll give up there. Why don't you train with Angel, hmm?" Her watcher said admitting defeat.
"Sure. So, you think you can take me?" She asked grinning at her love.
"Always, slayer." He replied, vaulting over the railings.
He attacked and she easily defended herself while driving home a strong punch to his mid section. He was being careful not to hurt her. With out the restrictions usually placed on her she was able to work out without keeping her strength in check. Angel might be human now but he was still as strong as before. They carried on for a while like this both giving as good as they got. It was an even fight. Then Buffy got the upper hand. She managed to knock Angel's legs out from under him and she quickly pinned him to the floor.
"So, do you yield?" She asked breathlessly.
"That depends. What is the prisoners punishment.?" He asked her mischievously.
"Only a life sentence. Which includes all kinds of torture such as this...and this... and a lot more of this..." She said between kisses.
Angel pulled her closer and deepened the kiss. He ran his hands over her back and flipped her over. Neatly pinning her under him.
"What does the prisoner get for good behaviour?" He whispered, huskily. "Oh, that all depends on how *good* he is." She told him, giggling as his mock growl soon turned to a soft purr.
Giles came out of his office to see the slayer laying on the floor with her lover. He smiled silently to himself and thought of how lucky they were. Then in his usual watcher manner he made a disapproving sound as he went over to the table.
Buffy looked up as Giles made a noise and rubbed herself against Angel. "Come on, Giles wants a word!" She told him as she pushed him off her and dusted herself down.
Angel looked at her and shook his head. She always seemed to make him act like an over hormonal teenager. They had practically made love on the library floor. Mental note to self: don't train in public places! He walked over to a chair and pulled it out and sat down. The next instant a warm body slid onto his lap. Buffy. She leaned against him and he wrapped his arms around her. Then she proceeded to kiss him.
Giles looked up from his book and frowned at Buffy. "As I was saying...?" He said to her.
"Spoil my fun!" She said sulkily as she rose from Angel's lap and sat on the table.
"Now I really think it would be a good idea if you helped Dee train. She needs to be prepared and I think both you and Angel could help her a great deal."
"Ok Giles. We can do that. Can't we Angel?" She asked her boyfriend.
"Sure." He replied, still a little lost.
"You know it's Willows birthday soon. She'll be twenty next week. We really should plan a party, don't you think?" Giles asked.
"Yeah. We should. In fact, we can have the Bronze for the party." Angel suggested.
"I don't think it should be a surprise. You know how with this being the Hellmouth and all? Surprises are never good." She said remembering her own party.
"Fine, we can make up some invitations today..."
"Invitations? To what." Jenny asked as she came in the door.
"Just the gypsy we wanted to see. Can you help us make invitations for Willows birthday party? This one has to be special. It's the last one she'll spend with us for two years. Remember she has to go with Andrade next year." Buffy told Miss Calendar.
"Great. We can make it really special. I've already got her a present. I found it in this funny little Gypsy shop. It's an empty Book of Shadows. She can start recording her own spells and potions."
"Book of Shadows?" Buffy asked cluelessly.
"It's a witch's most prized spell book. What's special about it is that it will only show the owner it's contents. It's usually passed down through the family. This party will be one to remember!" She finished smiling.
"Did someone just say party?" Dee asked as she came in the door, closely followed by Joyce.
Giles and Buffy explained about the party to her.
"So, why are you here?" Angel asked Dee.
"Oh I have to go see the principal about enrolling here. Joyce said she'd speak to him for me as a responsible adult. I'm sure everything will go fine." She said with confidence.
Buffy, Angel, and the adults all exchanged identical looks of quizzical amusement. She obviously hasn't met the little troll yet was Buffy's thought.
Part six: It's the whole principle
An hour later.
Dee came out of the principals office with a look of disbelief on her face. Who did that little dictator think he was? Hitler?
Buffy and Angel looked up when Dee marched into the room. Her whole look said kill. She came over to them and glared for a moment before the torrent of anger was released.
"Who died and made him Fuhrer? Where did that little Nazi come from anyway? Little Ferangie troll! You knew what he was like and you didn't tell me? I have an outstanding record as a good student and he treated me like Americas most wanted! What is his problem?" She finished breathlessly.
"Sorry, he's always like that. Ferangie?" Giles asked.
"Star Trek!" They said in unison.
"Oh, I see." was Giles reply, still a little miffed. " Where is Joyce? She isn't still in there with him is she?" he asked concerned.
"No. She wanted to make it back to the Gallery in time for some shipment of stuff. I really need to work off some of this anger. And Spike's still finalising our house with the estate agent. By the way, we're going to be neighbours. We bought the house right next door to that one we met you in the other day."
"Great, Spike's now within yelling distance." Angel complained. Buffy threw a book at him.
"Hey, just remember who's helping us. You and Spike might not get along but he can't be that bad cause a slayer going to marry him. He's still your childe you should try and get on together." She scolded him.
Angel looked at her then relented. For Buffy's sake he would try and get on with Spike.
"Ok, I'll try. But I'm not making any promises. Dee, how about training with me. I don't want Buffy to tire herself out." This time he ducked when the book came flying towards him.
New York: 26th March 2000
Dru sat in the office and calmly gazed at the couple across the desk from her. She was interviewing one of the prospective adopters sent by the agency. By pulling a lot of strings, calling in favours, blackmailing and general coercion she had managed to get the final say on the people who would adopt the baby that had been left motherless before it was even born. This was the twenty fifth person so far that she had interviewed. None had seemed even half suitable to be parents. This child needed a very stable environment to grow up in. She would see that he got it. After all the future of the world rested on this baby's small shoulders. Although he did not know it he was going to be very special.
"So, why do you feel you would be suitable as a parents?" Dru asked them. The man looked familiar somehow. She just couldn't place him
The woman looked about twenty seven. Had short red hair and a comfortable grey trouser suit on. Dru had felt her soul as soon as she had come in the door. She was a good person. Unlike many New Yorkers Dru had met that day, she was still pure in spirit. Her eyes were kind and intelligent. The man was tall and had brown hair. Somehow he looked a little like Spike? The woman answered her.
"We have very good jobs. Mine requires I work mostly my choice of hours. We have the time and money to care properly for a child. More importantly we have a lot of love to offer and a safe and happy home to give. We can't have children, but we have a very stable relationship. Our top priority would be the child, nothing else would come first, not even work." She told her with conviction.
Dru smiled at her. At last! After several agonising weeks she had finally found the perfect person to look after the baby.
"Would you like to meet the baby?" Dru asked them.
"Yes! You mean you'll consider us as parents?" She asked.
"No. Not consider, already decided. This is a special case. The people I interviewed at the top of the list weren't suitable. You are. It's as simple as that." Dru beckoned the couple to follow her. She led them to a room right next door to Dru's office. Inside was a make-shift nursery. In a cot in the middle of the room was a small bundle. Dru went over and picked up the baby. He made a small sound and opened his eyes. They were the most unusual shade of brown. More gold than anything else. The woman joined Dru and took the small baby boy in her arms. It was all working out just as she had expected.
When they were gone and all the papers signed. Dru picked up the phone and dialed Whistler's number.
"It's all sorted. The baby will go to a good home tomorrow. I'm leaving for Sunnyhell tonight."
Part Seven: House Warming on a Hellmouth.
26th March 2000
Willow's birthday party had been a hit. The bronze had been closed for the night and Dingoes Ate My Baby had played for the guests. Buffy had waited until the day before to tell Willow about the party. Willow had then dragged Cordy, Buffy and Dee to the mall to find a dress and almost wigged out completely when Cordy had taken her into a shop and calmly told her she had already picked out Willow's dress. Her eyes had bugged out at the price tag but then Cordy had laughed and told her it was part of her present to Willow. At the party she had also given Willow a silver scrying bowl. Buffy and Angel had given her a crystal ball and Giles had given her some books on witch craft and spells. Jenny had given her the book of shadows and Oz had given her a beautiful pendant. Spike and Dee had gotten her a leather trench coat and laughed at the expression on her face.
Willow blearily climbed out of bed and managed to make it to the shower. She really wasn't a morning person. After her shower she felt more human and had a light breakfast. Then she collected her scrying bowl and put some water in it. She really wanted to try it out. She concentrated on the center of the bowl and touched a finger to the surface and watched it ripple. She thought hard about who she wanted to see and then an image started to take form. Her mother's youthful face gazed back at her and smiled. Then she heard a voice in her head. 'I wondered when you'd learn to do that. It was a favorite pass time of mine at your age. Better that television any day. And a lot more useful than telephone.' Willow smiled and replied. 'I got a silver bowl for my birthday. And I just wanted to thank you for your presents. They're beautiful.' Andrade had gotten her a raw silk shift and a ceremonial knife for her birthday. 'You're very welcome. They were mine once. My mother gave them to me when I turned twenty. Goodbye, I'll see you soon.' The image cleared and Willow was left looking at a bowl of water. She shrugged then decided to call Oz.

Angel watched Buffy while she slept. It was the same every night. She would wind herself around him as if she were afraid he might disappeared. Not that he blamed her. He knew she still felt afraid that she would wake up one morning and he would be gone. But he made sure that never happened. He felt her start to wake up. She stretched like a cat than buried her head in his chest mumbling about wanting to stay in bed all day. She raised her head and looked pleadingly at him with her eyes wide and innocent. He shook his head and she pouted.
"Come on we're moving into our new house today. I thought you'd be happy."
"I am. I just don't want to get up yet. I like being here. In bed. I'd make it worth your while?" She said invitingly.
Angel was tempted. But no, he wanted to try and get everything into the house, today if possible. Again he shook his head. She glared at him darkly, then crawled out of bed and made for the bathroom. Angel chuckled to himself and her look became even darker.
By nine o'clock that morning they were at the new house. There were people everywhere milling about as new furniture was placed in the rooms. Buffy was wandering around directing the movers on where to put everything. At the moment she was organising the nursery. She had some cute toys delivered and she placed them in the toy chest and arranged others on shelves. Angel had practically bought out the whole store when they had went to choose items for the nursery. His little girl would have the very best. In the middle of the room was an exquisite antique cradle. The cradle bedding was the best and the canopy was brussels lace. She wandered down the stair case and saw Angel take a package from a courier. It was large and he seemed quite excited about it.
"Angel? What's in the package?" She asked as she came up behind him.
"Hey, don't sneak up on me like that."
"It's about time I got my own back. Now you know how I feel." She looked at him expectantly and raised an eyebrow in question at the package.
"It's a surprise. But since I'm caught... You open it." He handed her the package and she took it to the living room. Then proceeded to rip the paper off.
Her breath caught in her throat as she gazed in Wonder at the paintings. One was of the Slayerettes, and it had everyone's expressions right. Then there was one of Joyce and Buffy. But the last one was the best. She and Angel were gazing at each other on a dimly lit dance floor. The look of love on both their faces was captured perfectly.
"I sent some photos we had and had them painted. The last one I got from a camera at the Bronze. Do you like them?" He asked.
"Like them?, I love them. Thank you so much. They're just right to hang in here. But this one's going in the hall." She said indicating the one of them both. She hugged him and kissed him and then whispered in his ear. Even after two and a half centuries he could still blush.
Just then they were interrupted by Spike as he entered the room.
"Not interrupting anything, I hope." He said, knowing fine well he had.
"What do you want Spike?" Angel asked.
"Just wanted to let you know, Dru's home. Dee asked me to invite you both to dinner tonight. Kind of a house warming party. She's invited the rest of the gang and some friends from school to the party afterwards." He told them.
"We'd love to come, Spike. Tell Dee we'll come. What time do you want us?"
"Around six alright? She's been planning this since last night. She wants to give some of her new school friends the grand tour of the house. I just know I'm going to regret this." He laughed.
Even Angel grinned at this. Spike left them to go help Dee prepare for the party. And to have a talk with Dru.
Spike and Dee's New House
Dru looked around the place she would probably call home for the next few decades. It was big. Almost identical to the house next door. She idly wondered who lived there. She had phoned Spike to let him know she was home and Dee had told her to pick which room she wanted. Her room was facing east to catch the morning sun and she looked out at the horizon which was already darkening. The baby was taken care of and had a good home. Now she would have to face her sire, and former lover. And the Slayer, Buffy. And the watcher. They might never forgive her for Kendra's death.
"Dru, can you come help me with this?" Dee called.
"Coming luv. I'll be down in a minute." She called to her friend.
Dru went down the stairs and ran right into Spike.
"Welcome home pet. How are you?" he said giving her a hug.
"I'm fine thanks. It's good to be home Spike!" She said hugging him back.
"You know we're having a party tonight. Buffy and Angel will be here. So will the rest of the crew. Do you feel up to seeing them?" He asked in a concerned voice.
"I'll be fine. Promise, I'll manage." She reassured him.
He looked at her for a moment then nodded his head. She'd cope. He knew she was strong. He went over to the phone and started calling the other dinner guests to invite them. Luckily everyone was able to come.
Part Eight: House Party on a Hellmouth.
Buffy and Angel's new House.
Buffy and Angel were getting ready to go to dinner. Angel was actually looking forward to it and hoped Dru would be ok. Buffy too wanted to see Dru and tell her she understood it wasn't her fault that Kendra died. The one time Buffy had met Dru had been at the Sunset Club when Ford had tried to feed the many members to Spike and co like pigs in a pen. Although Buffy had been hurt at losing a friend and fellow slayer she knew that it had been the demon that killed her, not the person.
She slipped into a short red dress and matching pumps. Then quickly twisted her hair up into a knot and concealed two stakes in it. Angel wasn't ready yet and padded into the room in bare feet, shirtless. He came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her, softly kissing her neck.
"Hey, we don't have time for this. You've got to get ready. Dee's expecting us at six............. Oh, that feels good." She said as he started kissing her again.
"Ok, I'm getting dressed."
Buffy smiled as she watched Angel wander around the room, slipping into his shirt. If it was possible, she was falling in love with him more each day. Her life over the past two months had almost been normal. There had been no vampire activity or any new demons to contend with, she knew Giles was starting to worry about it. Even she admitted it was wigging her out. Angel was agitated about it too and was sure something was going on. But what, they didn't know. She picked up a red silk scarf and wrapped it round her shoulders.
"Ready?" Angel asked coming out of the dressing room with a light jacket.
"Yeah, lets go." She replied brushing aside the uneasy thoughts she was having.
Spike and Dee's
The doorbell went and Dee ran to answer it. Willow, Oz, Xander and Cordelia were there.
"Hey Dee, we bumped into Oz and Willow when we reached the drive." Cordelia told her. Cordy too lived on 'The Hill'.
"We brought some wine for the table" she said handing over an expensive bottle.
They group went into the lounge and everyone started talking. Dee glanced up the stair way looking for Dru. The door went again and she answered it. This time she was met by the faces of Buffy and Angel.
"Hi Dee, we're not early are we?" Buffy asked.
"No everyone else just got here. Come on in."
They went in and joined the group in the lounge. Spike was taking orders for drinks and smiled as The slayer and Angel walked in. Just then he saw Dru descend the stairs. She came to the entrance of the lounge and looked uncertainly at the people smiling and laughing. The room slowly quieted. She smiled tremulously at them and stepped into the room. He knew she didn't want his help and curbed the urge to go and protect her. Surprisingly it was Buffy who made the first move.
"Hello, Dru. I hope we can be friends now that your on the winning team." she smiled to her.
Dru smiled in relief and nodded her head.
"Thank you, Buffy. I'm sorry about, before. If I could do it over again.."
"Don't. It's all in the past now. We, all of us here, know it wasn't really you. You have a fresh start now. We're all your friends." Buffy told her.
After that, the rest of the night went without a hitch. That is until the party guests turned up.Dee's friends from school were here and everyone was having a great time. Some of the people she had invited were jealous of Dee's free lifestyle.
Especially one girl in particular. She had succeeded, and out done even Cordelia, in the bitchiness contest. Her new boyfriend had asked her to invite him to the party and asked her to be at the door to let him in at ten o'clock. So she was now waiting by the door. She glanced out the window and saw him and a group of friends approach the house. It would serve that little madam, Deanna, right to have gate-crashers at her party. Felicity thought to herself. She opened the door and her boyfriend stood there.
"Are you going to invite us in?" He asked. Talk about a strange question she thought.
"Sure, come in."
Buffy and Angel were dancing, as were Spike and Dee when they all felt it. Vampires, approaching the house. They looked at each other and made there way to the now quiet study. On the way, they beckoned to the rest of the gang to follow.
"Here, catch." Spike said as he threw stakes to everyone. He gave crosses and water guns to the Slayerettes.
"There are about twenty, maybe twenty five of them. Think we can handle it?" Buffy asked.
"Easy. Lets dust em." Xander replied.
"I knew this run of good luck wouldn't last. I'll never get the dust out of this fabric" Cordelia grumbled, but smiled.
"Buffy stay close to me. We can work better back to back." Angel told her worriedly.
"Same for us kitten." Spike replied looking at Dee. Then they headed out into the hall in time to see Felicity open the door and invite in a large group of vampires.
The quickly came in and started attacking people. This group of vamps were new to Sunnydale. They had no idea there was a Slayer, let alone two and a number of good vampires and humans that knew how to fight back. The two teams of Slayer and Vampire worked in symmetry together. Buffy round housed one and threw her stake straight at his heart. He exploded into dust all over Felicity. The next one she flipped onto his back and brought the stake down into his heart. She noticed Xander struggling with a nasty one and threw a stake to Cordy to stake him with. Which she did with minimum effort. Buffy whipped her stakes from her hair and started fighting again, with Angel watching her back, they were unstoppable. Between Buffy, Angel, Dee and Spike, they dusted about eighteen vamps. A few were taken out by the Slayerettes and two got away. Luckily no one was hurt but were in shock.
"So much for secret identity." Dee said under her breath.
"Don't worry. They'll all forget about it by morning or convince themselves they saw a gang on PCP." Spike said. " believe me I know from experience."
Buffy and Angel laughed and told Dee not to worry, Spike was right.
By midnight the party was over and everyone had gone home. Dee shook her head in amazement that her friends had hardly blinked an eye and told her that in Sunnydale, there were a lot of gangs and not to worry, she was lucky her friends were with the police.
"Should we call Giles just now, or tell him tomorrow?" Dee asked.
"Might as well leave it till tomorrow. Those vamps were young and completely disorganised, I've fought fledglings better prepared." Angel told her.
"Yeah, but we'll look into it tomorrow. See if we can find out where they came form and if there are anymore of them or if they have a master vampire. I've got some contacts I can call. What about you Angel, got any sources?"
"A few, I'll call them tonight." He replied to Spikes question. A private glance of worry was exchanged between the two.
Buffy and Dee looked at each other, sure their fiances were hiding something from them. Even Dru looked uncomfortable, as if she knew they were lying to them. Everyone went home, tired and agreed to meet at the library the next day.
Angel took Buffy home and convinced her to go to bed without him while he made some phone calls. That Attack tonight might not have been very organised but he knew that something was going on. Vamps didn't attack unless they had a stronghold somewhere in the city. Which meant that there was probably a leader and more backup's. Both he and Spike didn't want Buffy or Dee going up against that sort of a force until they had a better idea of who they were dealing with. If they were right in who they thought it was, things would not be good. The only vampire they knew who worked in such a fashion was one of Darla's other children, Tendos. He was almost as bad as Angel had been as a demon, with a little of Spike thrown in for good measure. Sure they could take him, but it would be difficult. Although he was younger than Angel and Spike he had learned a lot from both them and Darla. Angel just hoped they were wrong.
Library: 27th March
Giles was in the library doing as much research as he could about this new vampire, Tendos. The watchers didn't just watch the slayers but watched the most powerful vampires and recorded their movements. When Angel had called him last night and told him he had confirmed that Tendos was indeed in Sunnydale he had immediately started researching him. He had called the council and informed them of the situation. Tendos, was equal only to Angelus. Angelus had been stronger than the master and Tendos was almost his equal. Things did not bode well for the slayers. The only reason that Buffy had won against Angelus for so long was because even as a demon he had loved her. He had never really intended to kill her. Now there was a demon as cunning and evil as Angelus and Spike put together. He only hoped that he could be defeated. Giles knew something that they did not, Tendos real reason for coming to Sunnyhell, the birth of Buffy and Angel's child. Tendos had found out about the prophesied birth of a child that would banish all evil. If they managed to defeat him then no other demon would find out about it. Not only did they have to protect Buffy but ensure that no vampire possessing the knowledge of what the child was, left the town alive. In order to do that the Slayers would have to find the vampires enclave. This would take time. Although Angel and Spike did not realise it Tendos' attack last night had been designed to find out what sort of defences the Slayers had.
Buffy woke up and for the first time since Angel had become human, she found herself alone in bed. I won't panic yet, I won't panic yet she chanted in her mind. She reached out with her senses to find his presence. She breathed a sigh of relief when she felt him down stairs in the kitchen. She slipped out of bed and showered quickly, then changed into a tank-top and a pair of jeans. As she did so she noticed her jeans were a little tight. She smiled to herself and placed her hand over her abdomen. Buffy made her way down stairs and walked towards the kitchen. She heard two voices. Angel's and Spike's. The frowned to herself and stopped to listen. They sounded very worried and angry.
"Tendos is trouble. We have to take care of him ourselves. We can't afford to have Buffy go up against him in her present condition." This from Angel.
"You're right. But Dee can't face him either. She doesn't have enough experience. Besides she isn't as strong as Buffy and lets face it Buffy is the strongest slayer in history." Spike was sounding helpless. Very unusual.
Then a third voice spoke up. It was Drusilla.
"We can take care of him. The three of us have a better chance. We know how he works, after all we taught him everything he knows. The difficult part will be getting past his guards. That is if we find him in time. He could decide to turn all of the people in the town. You know he cares nothing for the masquerade. He never followed the rules of mortals when he was one, what makes you think he will follow those of our own kind? Giles told me he's trying to find out where he's hiding. Right now all we can do is wait and try and protect the slayers as best we can."
"You're right pet. We'll just have to wait. However, I'm going to take the precautions of defending the property. I'll soak the perimeter with holy water and place crosses on the gates and on the top of the walls. Do you have any suggestions?" Spike asked Angel.
"I'm going to ask Willow to fine a warning spell. Maybe even something to keep evil out. But if I did then you and Dru wouldn't be able to get in. The spell might be triggered by the presence of the demon in your bodies. I'll see what she can do. Remember not a word to anyone else except Giles and Willow. We can't afford to have Buffy and Dee put out. You know what they're like. Give them a rule or heaven forbid an order and they'll break it." Spike grinned grimly at this and nodded his head. So too did Dru. Then they left.
Buffy couldn't here properly only catching snatches of the conversation.. She entered the kitchen just as Spike and Dru left.
Spike and Dee's
Dee sleepily opened her eyes reached out for Spike. He was gone. She pushed herself up and looked around the room. No sign of him. She usually woke before him, where had he gone? The door bell went off, so she climbed out of bed and pulled on a robe.
When she opened the door she was surprised to see Buffy standing there. "Dee, we have a problem." She pushed past her friend and walked towards the kitchen.
"What's wrong Buffy?" She asked concerned.
"We have to go to the mall tonight. It's Giles birthday tomorrow and we need to get him a present. I don't have time today as I have an appointment at the doctors and you have school, so I'll pick you up at six and we'll go shopping."
"Alright, see you then." Dee smiled then made breakfast for them both.
"Have you already eaten?" She asked her friend.
"Yes, but I need two breakfast's now. One for me and one for baby. I'm eating like a pig. It's disgusting." Dee laughed with Buffy and they talked for a while about school and stuff until breakfast was over.
The library 8 pm
"Giles, have you seen Buffy or Dee? They've disappeared." Angel asked the watcher as he and Spike came into the room. His voice was panicked, both he and Spike looked ragged with worry. Just then Dru ran into the Library.
"I've checked the Bronze and the cemetery on Hawthorne. They're not there." She told them with a heavy heart.
"Damn it! If he's done anything to them I swear I'll forget what a soul is for. I'll think up new ways for a vampire to die!" Spike shouted angrily. Angel was pacing the floor, desperately trying to think where in Sunnydale Tendos could have used as a lair.
"He wouldn't.... No.. Spike do you think he could be at the mansion on Crawford street?" Angel asked his childe.
Spike looked taken a back for a moment then both he and Dru looked at each other. Tendos would probably have taken the house as it was one of the most defensible places to be. He had never liked going under ground. "Let's go."
Crawford Street
Angel, Spike and Dru, looked like a very formidable team as they walked up Crawford Street. They had a purpose, to save the slayers.
"All right, take out as many of the guards as you can. We'll meet in the courtyard." Angel ordered the two younger vampires. They nodded their heads in agreement.
Angel scanned the perimeter and saw a young vamp in the bushes. Without blinking he threw a stake at the creature. It hit true and all that was left was a pile of ashes.
Inside the mansion Buffy and Dee were trapped in a cage. Tendos had been captured them. He had almost laughed at how easy it had been to catch the slayers. When one of the vamps had reported that the slayers were walking home, he had set the trap. Now he had the pesky Slayer, Buffy Summers in his power. Without her the world would be safe for his kind to do as they pleased. Her child was too much of a threat to his existence.
"How are we going to get out of here?"
"I don't know" Buffy replied honestly. She wished she had listened to Angel and Spike's conversation more closely. She should have understood how much danger this demon posed. How could she have been so stupid?
Tendos ordered the chained slayers to be brought before him. Buffy struggled ineffectually in her bonds. Dee did the same. Both hoping to find a way out. They were taken to a dark chamber that had no windows and only one door. They were shoved into the room and unchained. Tendos turned to them and smirked.
"How the mighty will fall. Tell me slayer, what is your last request?" He smirked to Buffy. Secure in the knowledge that he could take them both.
"Oh, how about, you in an ash tray?"
"Not afraid girl?"
"Of you?, I've met bunnies more scary."
At this he lashed out at her. Without the chains restricting her she blocked his fist and tried to kick him. She missed and only just kept her balance. Soon they were fighting furiously. Dee looked on with horror, knowing that Buffy wouldn't be able to keep this up for long.
Angel, Spike and Dru met in the courtyard. Between them they had taken out about thirty vampires.
"Where would he have taken them?" Dru asked, almost on the verge of tears. Just then they heard a crash.
"I think we just got our answer." Angel said as they rushed towards the sound.
Buffy was cornered. There was no way out, Tendos had her trapped. He would win. He raised his hand again to plunge a knife into her when Dee rushed up behind him and threw him against the opposite wall. He got up quickly and flew at her. The weeks of training with Buffy had helped her. But she was no match for the demon.
Buffy lay in the corner. Her ankle was twisted and she was covered in blood. Tendos had slashed her many times as they had fought. Trying to weaken her. It had worked. She couldn't move, she could only watch as her friend went up against death.
Angel threw himself against the door to the room. It was solid steel. He and Spike kept trying to force it. If it would only move. The door flew open and they rushed inside. Angel saw Buffy huddled in a corner. He rushed to her. Spike and Dru saw Dee fighting Tendos. Just as they came through the door he snapped her neck.
Spike howled in anguish as he watched the woman he loved fall to the floor. Both he and Dru rushed him and in seconds he was dust. Spike sank to the floor and cradled Dee in his arms. She opened her eyes and smiled at him. "I love you Spike." Then she closed her eyes, forever to sleep. Spike shook as he cried.
"No!" His cry seared the air.
Dru, went to him and held him in her arms as he cried.
Buffy opened her eyes and looked at her friend. She silently cried in Angels arms as he carried her out of the room.
(Authors Note: Ok , this is the last part, the epilogue. :::: Cat Ducks as people flame her for killing Dee. I can explain I cry in fright.... just trust me, pwease?:::::: I like Willow/Spike..... but sigh:: yeah I know Dee was sweet and she and Spike were right for each other and all, but come on...... a slayer and a vampire has been soooo done, not that I don't like it 'cause I do but, Spike needs Willow and after all the fate of a slayer is to die, there was no Way Dee could have gotten out of that situation alive, the whole reason she was sent to Sunnydale in the first place was to protect Buffy and the Baby, think Whistlers motives, at least she had a little happiness for a time, and who's to say she might not come back at some other point?(I promise to bring her back somehow if I get at least six e-mails asking me to::grin:: then lots of Willow/Spike/Dee angst::evil laughter::) I promise the next story will be out very soon.
Part Epilogue
Life Goes On
All Tendos men had been taken out. The threat was gone, but at an enormous price. The death of a slayer. Giles felt guilty that he was relieved to find out it was Dee and not Buffy that had died. The day of her funeral had been sunny and bright. Much as she had always been. Although they hadn't known her long, Buffy, Angel and the Slayerettes had grown very close to the bubbly teenager. She would be missed, greatly. But life must go on. Another slayer would be called, and would die. Spike had taken it hardest, which was understandable. He had been in love with her, to have her taken so horribly and right before his eyes had shaken him deeply. A few days later Oz had escaped during his change. Another werewolf hunter had came and killed Oz. Over the year that followed Spike and Willow became very close. Both felt deep pain over the loss of their loves but their friendship was very special. The rest of the gang had watched in amusement as Spike and Willow realised that they were meant for each other. It was obvious that they were falling in love.
Buffy and Angel's wedding was in June. At this point she was five months pregnant and just beginning to show. She looked radiant as she walked down the aisle. They were one of the happiest couples in Sunnydale. Four months later their daughter was born. They named her Gabriella. Just as Willow had known her eyes were brown and green with gold flecks. Every once in a while she would see that gold glow. She confided in Spike about the baby and he had told her he knew. Whistler had filled him in. No-one had been surprised when Spike asked Willow to marry him but they decided to wait until Willow got back from her Andrade's before they got married. Secretly Willow had asked Spike to come with her and he had agreed. Giles and Jenny tied the knot and ten months later their son was born. Cordelia and Xander married the next year, as did Spike and Willow. It was a double wedding. Xander got a good job from Cordelia's father. He handled the Foundations accounts and soon became manager when his father-in-law retired. Cordelia ran a shelter for abused wife's and got a degree in psychology. She felt good to be making a difference. Their lives went on happily, never bothered by demons of prophecies. For the next few years everything was quiet in Sunnydale. Life was peaceful. But these things never last, do they?
