As I shy away from angels
And the light that calls
As I close my eyes to emotion
And into emptiness I fall

As I seem to meet a stranger
Who knows me like myself
As in poverty I realise
The shallowness of wealth

As I question all my history
And reflect on might-have-beens
As each day is filled by battles
Facing all my future sins

As my search for truth continues
I feel myself no more alone
As it seems oh so simple
The answer's in heart's home

As I feel a new beginning
With someone not yet known
As I look around me slowly
I see that the angel's flown

As I drink the scent down quickly
And leave nothing in my way
As my thirst is finally sated
I can sense a brand new day

For there always was a reason
To believe in what might be
And the reason is quite simple
You lying here by me
