Summary: Buffy runs into Cordelia. Cordelia finds out
Buffy has a kid and they talk.
She had been looking for something on the shelves behind the checkout counter of the store she worked in, when someone at the counter had spoken. Buffy turned around to the voice behind her.
"Excuse me," the voice said. "I'd liked to know if you sell...OH MY GOD!" Cordelia Chase Exclaimed. "Buffy what are you doing here in L.A.?"
"Cordelia!" Buffy exclaimed. "What are *you* doing here?"
"I live here remember? I have since the summer we graduated from high school. What are you doing here?"
"I live here too." Buffy replied.
"Since When?" Cordelia asked.
"Since last month. I came to see Angel, but I haven't worked up the courage to go to his place yet."
"Hello!?" A woman standing behind Cordelia said in an annoyed voice. "I have other places to be today!"
"Sorry" both of the girls said.
"I get out of here at 3:00. Why don't we get some coffee or something then?" Buffy asked taking the garments from the lady.
"Sure" Cordy replied
"3:30 sound good? I have to pick somebody up before we go."
"3:30 it is" Cordy smiled and then exited the store.
At three 'O clock Buffy punched out and exited through the back door of the department store. After stopping to pick up her two year old daughter Logan she headed off the the coffee shop Cordelia had mentioned.
"Mama where going?" Logan asked from her carseat in the back.
Buffy glanced at her daughter in the rearview mirror and replied "We're going to go meet someone sweetie"
Her daughter was content with the answer and continued playing with her doll and jibbering the rest of the way there. Finally they made it through the L.A. traffic and to the coffee shop. Upon entering, Buffy immediately spotted Cordelia at a booth in the back and made her way to it. Cordelia's mouth fell open when she saw Buffy coming towards her carrying a toddler in her arms.
"Cordelia this is Logan" Buffy said happily, "Logan this is Cordy"
"You never told me you had a kid!" Cordelia nearly shouted. "It is your kid right? Who's the father?"
Buffy was bombarded with question after question. "Cordelia chill" she hissed "You're making a scene." Buffy set Logan down in the booth and then slid in beside her. Just as Cordelia was about to say something. Buffy cut her off. "Yes she is mine. Lets order something first before we talk" and with that she called over a waiter.
After placing their orders Cordelia asked again. "Who's the father?"
Buffy took a deep breath then let it out *I have to tell her, I have to tell her* she repeated in her mind. Finally she whispered, "Angel. She's Angel's baby."
Cordelia looked at her shocked. "How? I mean, How could have that happened? He's not human. He can't have kids. Are you sure she's his?"
"I know it's weird but it's true. Just look at her."
Cordelia looked closely at the small girl across from her. Her hair was the same blonde as Buffy's, but her eyes were big and brown on her small face. She sat contently sucking on her thumb and staring back at Cordelia with those eyes. Angel's Eyes.
"Oh my god" Cordelia whispered almost too soft for Buffy to hear. "She *is* his baby. But how?"
"I don't know," Buffy said as Cordelia looked back at her, "but I've been having these dreams about me and Angel. We were together in the sunlight and in his apartment. They seem so real. Like he's there and I'm touching him but then I wakeup and they're gone."
"She wasn't supposed to remember" Cordelia whispered to herself.
"Excuse me?" Buffy asked giving her a strange look.
"Nothing"
"No, you said..." she trailed off when the waitress set their coffees in front of them and handed Logan a small pack of cookies. "Thank-you" Buffy mumbled then turned back to Cordelia. "What wasn't I supposed to remember? Did something happen between me and Angel that I somehow don't know about?" Cordelia stared down into her coffee. "Cordelia answer me."
The brunette looked up at Buffy. "I can't tell you here. Let's go to my place. I'll tell you then.
Buffy agreed and the two girls finished their coffee in silence

"So everything in my dreams really happened." It was more a statement then a question.
Cordelia nodded. "It all happened. Everything."
The two had went to Cordelia's apartment after coffee to talk and to let Logan nap while they did so.
"But that still doesn't explain to us how Logan was concieved. I mean the oracles took the day away so how did I have her when in reality that day never happened?"
"I know it's weird. Maybe you should talk to Angel about this." Cordelia suggested.
Buffy looked up at her with fear evident in her eyes, "I can't do that Cordelia. I never even told him that he has a kid. What am I supposed to do? Just waltz in there with Logan in my arms and say 'Hi Angel. This is Logan, your daughter that I never told you about'?"
"You never know, it could work. Except for the waltzing part. You might drop the baby if you did that." Cordelia replied.
"Get real Cordy. He'll think I'm crazy if I ever said anything like that."
"Then I'll tell him for you."
"NO!!" Buffy yelled then cursed under her breath as her sleeping daughter began to whimper from the couch across the room. "No you can't tell him. Please whatever you do just don't tell him that he has a daughter. Please promise me you won't tell." she pleaded like a small child.
"Fine I won't" Cordelia muttered then changed the subject "So what did your mother and Giles think when they found out you were pregnant?"
Buffy stared down at the floor then back up at Cordelia, "My mom went balistic and started yelling. I don't think she was really upset about me being pregnant. I think it was more because of the fact that it was Angel's baby I was pregnant with."
"And Giles?"
"Well, you know Giles. Never knows quite what to say. For awhile he just sat there using a handerchief to clean his glasses. Then he told me that I was to stop patrolling and let the rest of the gang take over for a while. I don't know how he felt but I think he was a little disappointed in me that I would go off and do something like that, then wait three months after I found out to tell everyone." She looked back down at the floor and began playing with the rings on her fingers.
"So in other words, they didn't take it to well?"
Buffy shook her head.
"What about Willow and the rest of the gang?"
"Oh Willow was exuberant. She couldn't wait til I had the baby but Xander was a different story. The first thing that came out of his mouth when I told him was 'I can't believe your having deadboys baby'."
"That is so like him." Cordelia flared. "He can never be happy for anyone else."
"Yeah well that's part of the reason I left Sunnydale. Everyone except Willow wanted nothing to do with the baby. My mom would come around but not alot, and Giles wasn't very overjoyed when we found out it was a girl. He thinks that she might be the next slayer. I doubt it though because she hasn't shown any signs of having special strengths or anything. Xander wouldn't even talk to me after I had her. So I left and came here after a two years of putting up with them. And you know what gets me so mad? None of them have called me to see how we were doing since I left. Except for Willow. For all they know I could be dead in an alley somewhere and my baby gone and they wouldn't even care."
"You know that's not true Buffy. They care about you. They're just upset. They'll get over it." Cordelia soothed.
"It's been 2 years Cordy. Don't you think they'd be over it by now." Suddenly the room was silent and Buffy looked up at Cordelia. "You have a point there" she said. "But still" she continued, "point or no point they're your best friends and you know your mom loves you and so does Giles. He's always been like a dad to you. And Xander...well....Xanders just jealous. You know how he is."
Buffy nodded but continued staring at the floor. "It seems like they would call if they really wanted to talk or if they weren't mad anymore."
"Did you ever try calling them?"
"No"
"Well, then how do you know that they're still upset with you?" Cordelia asked.
"I don't" the slayer replied meekly.
"You should make the first move. You should call them instead of waiting for them to call you."
"You're right Cordelia. I should." Buffy said looking up. Just then she felt a slight tug on her shirt sleeve and looked up to see her daughter. "Mommy, park?" Logan asked pleading with her big chocolate-colored eyes.
"Oh yeah I almost forgot. I promised Logan we'd go to the park today." Buffy said standing up from the couch and easily lifting the toddler into her arms. "I guess we're off to the park. Thanks for the talk Cordy. It was..." Cordelia interrupted. "You wouldn't mind if I tagged along would you?" She asked standing up. "I kinda wanna get to know this daughter of yours a little bit better."
Buffy smiled, whispered something in Logans ear, then set her down. The girl clung to Buffy's leg for a moment then crossed over and stood in front of Cordelia with her arms up in the air. Cordelia smiled as she picked the 2yr old up and together they all left the apartment for the park.

"You invited Angels gal over?" Doyle asked, shocked. "Does he know 'bout this?"
"No he doesn't" Cordelia replied, "and he's not going to find out about it either."
"Right!" Doyle said when he saw Cordelia's Expression. "What time is the lass comin' over?"
"'Noon tomorrow. And she's bringing her daughter."
Doyles mouth dropped open at that last comment and Cordelia just smiled.
