Teaser: Buffy runs into someone while grocery
shopping!
Rating: PG
"No Logan!" Buffy scolded as her daughter tried once again to sneak a toy into the cart. "I said no toys today!"
"Mommy mean!" Logan exclaimed to her father.
"No you're just being naughty." Angel lifted his little girl and placed her in the cart before buckling her in. "What else do we need?" he asked Buffy as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
"Bread, yogurt and potato chips." she replied as she began pushing the cart again. "And I wanted to get some fresh vegetables for our salad tonight."
"I'll go get the veggies and yogurt and then meet you in the chips aisle. I know how long it takes for you to pick out 'just the right kind'!" he teased before heading off towards the produce section.
"Yeah yeah tease me all you want!" she muttered before pushing the cart to the aisle that housed the bread and chips. She grabbed a few loafs of bread from the rack and turned to the chips. While she was searching Logan began making faces at a man across the aisle. She stuck her tongue out and pulled on her ears. The man did the same thing and she began giggling. "What are you giggling about?" Buffy asked without looking down.
"Silly man!" Logan giggled. Buffy turned around and then gasped.
"Buffy!" The man said in surprise.
"Dad?" Buffy replied. "What are you doing here?...no wait that was a stupid question..." She dropped the bag of chips from her hand into the cart.
"Yeah cause I think it would be my place to ask you what you're doing here."
Just then Angel returned. "I got the vegetables and....you didn't even hear me!" He set the items in the cart and faced his girlfriend.
"Huh...what did you say Angel?" Buffy asked shaking her head.
"Nothing important. Are you gonna introduce me?"
"Uhm....Angel this is my dad. Dad this is my boyfriend Angel and my daughter Logan."
"Your daughter?" he nearly shouted.
"Shh!" Buffy hissed. "Don't make a scene." she said harshly as several people began looking at them. "Can we have this little reunion somewhere else? And also at a more convenient time?"
"I...um...sure I guess." Hank stuttered.
"I'll call you." Buffy said before turning back her cart.

"Buffy don't you think you were a little rude to your father while we were at the store?" Angel asked as they were putting the groceries away.
"Nope," she replied.
"Buffy..."
"I don't want to talk about it Angel!" She said coldly before slamming the cupboard shut and stalking off to the bedroom and slamming that door shut too. Angel sighed.
"Mommy mad?" Logan asked her father from her place at the table.
"No baby-girl," Angel said lifting her into his arms. "She's just a little upset right now."
"Mommy mad." she stated nodding her head.
Angel chuckled before carrying his pajama clad daughter to her bed

"What's wrong beloved?" Angel asked as he sat beside his girlfriend on their bed. She buried her face into her pillow. He sighed before laying down beside her and sliding his hand up her shirt to rub her back. "C'mon talk to me." She shook her head then lifted a little to let out a sob. That had done it for Angel. He pulled her into his arms and held her tightly to him. "Talk to me Buffy," he urged brushing a few golden strands from her tear streaked face.
She opened her eyes and looked at him. "I miss him. I miss him so much, Angel. But I hate him too. I hate him for not ever being there." she sobbed. "Today was the first time I've seen him since...God knows when? He never called or wrote since my 18th birthday. He probably forgot I even existed until today."
"You know that's not true." Angel replied. "He loves you Buffy. And have you ever thought about how he might feel? His only daughter is living in the same city as him but never even bothered to call and tell him."
Buffy's sobs quieted as she listened to Angel. "I think maybe you two just need some time together. Go out for lunch sometime and try to fix things. I know you love him, Buffy. Now you have to let him know that." Angel finished before kissing her forehead. She curled up closer to him and lay her head on his chest.
"I want to." Buffy said. "But I'm not sure where to start."
"Call him." Angel stated picking the cordless up off the nightstand and handing it to her. He climbed out of the bed and left the room, gently closing the door behind him to give his girlfriend her privacy.
"Thank-you," Buffy whispered before dialing her dad's phone number.
"Daddy....?"
"Buffy...I was wondering if you were going to call."
