Buffy awoke more content then ever in her life, Angel was human, human. It was still so hard to digest, just last night he was a vampire, her vampire lover, the two pre-determined to be mortal enemies, but under some weird change of fate more in love then ever. And now here she was lying in the arms of her lover, a smile graced her face as she thought of last night; last night was wonderful. Snuggling closer she began to drift back to sleep on this Christmas morning.

"You better have clothes on." A voice said from the other side of the door, "Cause in 5-4-3-2-and now I am coming in." Cordelia Chase the owner of the voice walked in, seeing the two sleeping peacefully covers tangled between their legs and completely unaware of the outside world; she bashfully walked back downstairs joining the rest of the gang.

"See, they are asleep." Anya pointed out, "So how much money do I get?"

At the others strange glances she continued, "Well I said I bet that they were asleep, and well, see asleep. So how much do I get?"

"Anya," Xander began not quite sure how to tell her she wouldn't be getting any money. "See, saying I bet, well it's a figure of speech so to say, and so you are not going to get any money." Looking at her sullen face he continued, "But don't worry you have me." He hugged her and then moved closer towards the others.

"So, what are we going to do until then?" Willow asked.

Bringing out a Twinkie from his pocket Xander unwrapped the golden masterpiece and stuffed it inside his mouth. Replying to Willow's question with his mouthful, "I don't know about you guys but I am going to eat." He finished smiling.

"Xander Harris, you disgust me." Cordelia shrieked and slapped him on the arm.

Hearing all the commotion from downstairs Buffy lazily opened an eye, listening to see who it was. Sighing when she heard the voice of her friends, she turned to see Angel who was still asleep; about to shake him, she stopped having a much better idea. Resting her weight on her arms she leaned over and began to trail kisses from his nose to his eyelids to his neck and then behind his ears and finally landing on his lips. As he began to kiss her back signaling that he was awake, Buffy pulled back. Angel moaned slightly at the sudden loss of contact, opening his eyes he spoke lightly, "I wouldn't mind being waken up like this more often."

"Really, I'll remember that," Buffy said leaning down to kiss him once again. The kiss started to heat up, only to have it interrupted by the door opening, "Buffy." Joyce said, stopping dead in her tracks, at the site of Buffy and Angel. Muttering something about friends and not seeing anything she turned and left the room.

"I think that's our cue to get dressed." Buffy said getting up and walking to her closet deciding what to wear. Around twenty minutes later Buffy and Angel made their way downstairs to greet their friends.

"Merry Christmas to our favorite slayer and un-dead boy." Xander said merrily walking over and wrapping Buffy in a hug, not letting go, until Angel pried the boys arms off of his girlfriend giving him a dirty stare.

"So presents come now?" Anya asked.

At the sound of a rumbling noise in Angel stomach, "I think breakfast would be a good idea." Buffy said.

"Yeah, breakfast would be nice." This would be Angel's first real meal in a couple of centuries; to say he was excited was an understatement.

After the gang had greedily poured and stuffed food into their mouths, they headed over around the Christmas tree, as per Anya's request and began to open presents. Willow leaning over to Buffy whispered, "What did you give Anya, anything?"

Leaning over, she whispered something making both girls laugh.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

The two lovers hand in hand, as the walked the deserted streets of the mid-day Sunnydale. The gang had left shortly after, to return home to their respective families. Joyce was at home packing for her trip to L.A. This giving Buffy and Angel a week free of parental supervision. Looking up, Buffy remembered a time like this one-year earlier, when Angel had come out waiting for the sun to rise. He would have been dead; not here now, fully human on this Christmas day here with her, he would be a pile of ashes; shivering at the thought she pushed it as far away from her mind as possible.

"Angel." She said softly. Bringing her face up to look into his chocolatey eyes.

"Yes." He replied equally as soft.

"I love you." She said.

"I love you too." Angel replied, kissing her head lightly.

And the two continued their walk, both silent as before.
