One lone girl sat cross-legged before a tombstone, her fingers traced along the worn ridges of her name, and his, as she had done so for the past 45 years, this tradgedy had traumatized her as a human, but made her see a new light as what she was now, an immortal. Every night she laid flowers on their grave and thought of them. The smell of lilac's filled the graveyard for the past forty years. She shed a tear, and left the graveyard to her home, her home with Duncan.

"You're home earlier than usual tonight." A man with long black hair tied back with a cord said sadly with a tinge of a scottish accent.

"I had to leave, too many memories." Willow said as she smiled sadly and set her sword down, along with her coat.

"I know how you feel you'd think it gets easier with time." Duncan stated as he pulled her into his arms. Willow stared into space, deep in thought as she held onto Duncan.

"So red, you gonna ask Oz to the sadie Hawkin's dance, it seem's to me he's been gettin' all swoony around ya!" Buffy asked Willow as she chewed gum.

"I dunno, you think he'd say yes?" Willow asked a hint of shyness in her tone as she spit her gum out and pulled out a new piece.

"Come on Willz, you've helped me save the world like 50 times, and you can't even ask Oz out? You can do it! Just do the talking thing." Buffy said as she nudged her.

"I guess I'll have to find out, thanks Buff." Willow said as a smile crossed her face.

"I asked Angel and he agreed to take me, I love him to death! What a dreamboat!" Buffy exclaimed as they walked down school halls.

"You two are so cute! I am such a sucker for star crossed romances, with him being a vampire and all." Willow added as they sat on a bench and smoothed out their 50's style skirts.

"I think it just might work out." Buffy said happily.

"I hope you're right Buff." Willow whispered to herself, she worried for her best gal pal.

Willow smiled as she looked down on Duncan sleeping, he has been so good to her, he had helped her through everything since the tradgedy happened, after she died...

"Oh god Willz." Buffy cried as she sobbed into Willow's shoulder."I didn't know, I didn't know what would happen, I loved him! It's all my fault." Buffy cried as Willow comforted Buffy.

"Shh, Buffy, you had no idea that there was a curse, I know you loved him." Willow murmured as her heart broke for her best friend, she didn't know how Buffy could survive with all that had happened, it wasn't her fault Angel had killed Miss. Calender.

Willow went into the kitchen and got a glass of water, she couldn't sleep, the memories flooded her like a wave of water....

"ANGEL!!!!!!" Buffy screamed as the roof of the old run down building they were raiding vampires for fell on Angel. Angel had gotten his soul back and they were together again.

Buffy ran to the debris where Angel once was and wailed, her body shaking. "I promise we'll be together again Angel." Buffy whispered.

Willow witnessed the debris falling and helplessly stood there frozen, she heard what Buffy whispered as she dropped her candle, and clutched to Xander.

"Can't sleep?" Duncan asked as came from behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist in the kitchen.

"How could I sleep on the anniversary?

Seven vampires rushed Buffy and Willow as they were walking through the graveyard, they did their best to fight them off..

"Buffy! There's too many!" Willow yelled as she managed to kill one of the vamps by simply holding the stake in front of her, he impaled himself on the stake, Willow turned around just in time to be punched out by some vampire, she fell to the ground. Buffy fought and staked five of them, Willow came to as Buffy was fighting the last one, she got up to take on the sixth one, she felt dizzy. She flailed her fists at the vamp, but he pulled her arms behind her with won hand, grabbed the stake out of Willows hand and staked her in the heart.

"Take some of your own medicine sugar." The vamp retorted as she smiled gleefully at seeing blood start to leak out of Willow's mouth. Willow looked around in shock and fell to her knees, the grinning vampire turned to dust. Buffy's face contorted at the sight before her, her best friend was dying before her eyes. Buffy ran to Willow and cradled her in her arms.

"It's okay Red, you're gonna pull through, just hold on!" Buffy cried as she gently pulled the stake out and applied pressure, but to know avail. Willow was dead. Buffy's world shattered as she rocked back and forth with the dead Willow. Buffy finally left Willow to get help.

Willow gasped as air shoved down her lungs, she looked around confused."Oh god, where's Buffy, they're all gonna think I'm dead!" Willow exclaimed as she got up and shivered as she saw the blood covering her chest.

"I should be dead!" Willow exclaimed as she examined her wound.

"You were dead, but now you live." A stranger said as he came from out of the shadows, he was tall dark and handsome with long black haire tied up.

"How?" Willow remarked still shocked.

"You're immortal." Duncan said simply.

Willow leaned into Duncan. "I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't of found me." Willow said sadly.

"Shh, you're alive, don't dwell on the past, no matter how much it hurts." Duncan said soothingly.

"I wish I could." Willow said sullenly.

Willow watched over Buffy for the next few days after her death, it was the night before she was leaving town that she peered in on Buffy in her room.

Willow was frightened at the look on Buffy's face, her eyes were wide with tears, she stared in her mirror and picked up a razor.

"Love is forever." Buffy said passionately as she fufilled her promise to Angel and brought the razor down on her wrists, quickly, one by one. Willow couldn't hold back anymore she ran into the room crying at Buffy's side, she couldn't keep her eyes off of Buffy.

"Willow? You've come to take me to Angel." Buffy murmured, a smile on her face as she went limp. Willow cried for hours until she heard Joyce knocking on Buffy's door. Willow fled the room crying and went home into the arms if Duncan. 40 years she stayed in Sunnydale, visiting Buffy and Angel's combined grave, every night lilacs were placed, their sweet scent filling the graveyard. The night after the anniversary, she visited the graves one last time before she was leaving for France. Willow sat cross-legged in front of the grave.

"Hey guys, I'm moving away tomorrow morning, it's gonna be a while until I see you again. I found your rings, I searched for them for forty years, I knew you would have wanted it this way, I hope you'll be happy." Willow said as she shed one final tear, she placed two rings on the tombstone, then started to walk away.

Two figures materialized in front of the grave. One a tall dark handsome Angel, the other a petite blonde Buffy.

Angel walked over to the grave and picked up a ring, Buffy did the same. They walked over to each other.

"Finally." Angel whispered as he placed the ring on her finger, the heart pointing towards her.

"Finally." Buffy repeated as she put the ring on his finger, heart pointing towards him.

"Our love is forever." They said in unity. The two lovers met in a passionate embrace, one that lasted an eternity, they both turned to light and then were gone.

Willow smiled, turned and walked away, knowing they were finally at peace.
