Buffy had never been so excited to wear high heels in her life. She held up the skirt of her floor-length slip and strapped on the shimmery white satin shoes, twisting her ankle like a model would.

"Are you nervous?" Willow asked.

"Not at all."

"I am," she clutched her stomach and sat down. "Walking down that long aisle, and the people."

"It's just us, Will." Buffy laughed. "You see most of us almost every day."

"Are you sure this is such a good idea, Buffy?" Joyce asked. "I mean, I talked to Mr. Giles and he told me about Angel and how his curse won't lift for ten years. *Ten years*, Buffy. Can you really wait all that time to....to..." she blushed and looked away.

"Consummate?" Willow offered.

"Yes. Thank you, Willow." Joyce paused to catch her breath. She'd been wheezing slightly ever since she'd arrived at the church. "Can you really wait ten years to do that?"

"I could wait forever, Mom." Buffy said honestly.

No matter what they call us
However they attack
No matter where they take us
We'll find our own way back\\

Giles knocked on the door to the bride's room. "Buffy?" he called. "May I come in?"

"No!" Cordy shouted. "No men allowed."

"It's okay." Buffy said. "Come in, Giles."

"How come he can come in but Xander couldn't?" Cordy asked, pouting.

"He's giving me away, Cordelia." Buffy said. "Xander's just a groomsman."

"And Doyle?" she asked.

"What about him?" Buffy was confused.

"Can he come in?"

"No." Buffy gave her an odd look.

"Doyle," Joyce said. "The Irish gentleman out there?"

"Yeah, he's Angel's best man." Buffy said.

"So could he come in?" Cordy asked.

"No!" Buffy shouted, annoyed. She stood behind the door and pulled it open so that no one would see her and then shut it behind him.

"You look so handsome," she complimented. She smirked at the way Joyce blushed at the sight of the beautiful Englishman in a tux.

"Thank you, Buffy. You look beautiful."

She smiled and looked at Willow.

"You know, we probably should go meet up with our escorts," Willow said, tugging on Cordelia's arm. "Come on."

Joyce and Cordelia, who was still complaining about Xander not being allowed in the bride's room, followed the Witch outside. Buffy shut the door and looked at Giles.

"Hit me," she said knowing what she was in for.

He settled on the bench of her vanity. "Buffy, I just cannot totally give you my blessing on this marriage."

"Okay," she didn't seem to care.

"You don't care." he took off his glasses and looked at her.

"No, I don't." she checked her hair in the mirror. "I love you, Giles. But I love Angel too. And I'm going to marry him."

If only tears were laughter
If only night was day
If only prayers were answered
Then we would hear God say

No matter what they tell you
No matter what they do
No matter what they teach you

"How do you intend to have a proper honeymoon?" he demanded.

"Giles!"

"Seriously."

"We have things," she blushed and fumbled for her words. "Don't talk to me about those things, God! I mean, you're *Giles*! You're like my Watcher. I love you like a--"

"Father?" he interrupted.

"Yes. You love me differently though, don't you?"

Giles' silence told her that she was right.

And I will keep you safe and strong
And sheltered from the storm
No matter where it's barren
A dream is being born

No matter who they follow
No matter where they lead
No matter how they judge us
I'll be everyone you need\\

"How?" Giles asked. "How can you think this will all be okay?"

"Because it will." she said simply.

"This is not a soap opera, Buffy. Love does not conquer all."

"Duh. But it does prevail. End of story."

"This cannot end happily, Buffy."

"It can, and it will."

"How? Why?"

She gave him her coldest stare. "Because it has to."

No matter if the sun don't shine
Or if the skies are blue
No matter what the ending
My life began with you\\

"Buffy," Willow peeked her head in. "It's time to say 'I do'."

Buffy checked herself in the mirror one last time and faced her best friend. "How do I look?"

"Like the happiest woman in the world."

Buffy beamed. "Even in high heels?"

Will laughed. "Even in high heels."

"Let's do this."

No matter what they tell us
No matter what they do
No matter what they teach us
What we believe is true\\

Giles walked his Slayer down the aisle as a vocalist Doyle found sang some song by an Irish band called The Corrs that Buffy claimed to have danced to with Angel early in their relationship. The song was pretty and it fit the couple well, he thought. As they reached the alter, the singer left and a pop song filled the church via a poor sound system.

I can't deny what I believe
I can't be what I'm not\\

Buffy and Angel said their vows and were announced as Mr. and Mrs. Summers to the very small group of friends that had all become family. As they kissed, in the back of the church, Rupert Giles wept.

I know this love's forever
That's all that matters now
No matter what\\

The End
