"Let's go shopping!" Buffy suggested to her boyfriend.

"Oh, Buffy, I don't know, I mean a boy, taking a girl shopping? The mere thought scares some individuals, past the point of sanity," he told her.

"You've been talking to Xander again. Haven't you?" she asked, eyebrows raised.

"Maybe."

"Well, I don't think that he should be clouding your judgement," she said matter-of-factly.

"Are you saying that you can talk to him and I can't?" he argued.

"Think about what you just said. You want to know why *I* can talk to Xander and you can't. Xander, mister 'Hiya Deadboy'?" she asked him.

"What was I thinking?!" he asked in mock shame.

"Don't know. So shopping it is?" she asked a gleam in her eyes.

"I guess, Lord help me I am going shopping with-" he was cut off by a glare from Buffy.

"Good night!" Buffy told him.

"Good night," he grumbled.

"Love you," she said sweetly.

"Uh huh."

"Angel?" she asked after the lights were turned out.

"Yeah?"

"I really am excited about shopping with you tomorrow. I mean you're actually becoming a normal person, well not that I didn't mind, I mean--"

"I get it Buffy," Angel said with a smile, he loved her so much.

She turned around to face him. His eyes were closed and she was just enjoying looking at him when his eyes re-opened.

"I had a feeling I was being watched," he confessed.

"Well, I was watching you, so I guess you had a good feeling."

"I love you," he told her.

"Uh huh," she imitated the words he had spoken just a few moments ago.

"Funny," he said.

"I thought so."

That morning Buffy made Angel a breakfast of french toast and grapefruit juice. She accidently burned the toast, well the first couple pieces anyway. But after that, along with Angel's instruction, she made a good breakfast.

"Thanks with that," she told him as they were eating.

"No problem," he told her.

"Well, we are going shopping?" she asked, way to excited for someone like herself. She just couldn't believe that Angel was going shopping. And she thought ice skating was a big step.

"Yeah, lemme take a shower, then we'll go," he told her.

"Cool."

While Angel took his shower Buffy cleaned up, she washed the dishes and put them away. By the time Angel was done, she had finished and was waiting at the bottom of the stairs.

"Took you long enough," she said as she fake yawned and looked at her watch.

"Oh, don't even, I saw you walk to the stairs as I was coming down," he laughed.

"Maybe."

"No. Not maybe. Definatly is more like it," he insisted.

"Whatever," and she dropped the subject.

The couple got into Angel's car, and drove to Sunnydale's mall. The mall was a little small, but had a lot of stores. One might say. Buffy and Angel got out of the car and started walking up to the Sunnydale Mall.

"Oh," Angel said, putting a hand to his head.

"What? Did you forget something?" Buffy asked with some concern.

"No, I don't need it," he told her and kissed her lightly.

"Okay, then, let's go," she said as she grabbed his hand and almost dragged him in.

"Well, first, I think that we could get you some new clothes. What do you say?" she asked him, pondering her own question.

"Sure, anything you want," he smiled at her.

"Well, nearest clothes store is around the corner," Buffy pointed.

They walked past a couple stores advertising candles, music, cookies, and jewerly. The couple walked in the store, looking for the men's clothes. Buffy spotted it and started to walk over. Little did Angel know, the horrors were about to begin.

"...Oh, and this, and this, and this looks good," she said throwing clothes into the dressing room.

"And I like these shorts, what do you think?" she asked Angel.

"They're... nice," he said, not sure how to respond to the question.

"Yeah, I thought so. So try those on, and tell me which ones you like," Buffy said as she walked out to find some more clothes for him.

"Wow," he said to himself. He had clothes, he didn't need more. And what was with this trying on stuff? He had tried on a tee-shirt and a pair of shorts, he knew his size and didn't understand why he still had to try stuff on. But he didn't dare ask Buffy about it. Best not to feed the fire. Plus, she looked happy.

Though it took a long time, he tried on every outfit Buffy gave him, every now and then she would come to check to see how something looked and brought more clothes, taking back the ones that he didn't like and any she didn't like. Though she assured him that he looked good in everything with a secret smile. After he was sure that he had tried on the entire store, he still had a pair of khaki shorts to try on.

He grumbled to himself, wanting to end this. Now. But he put them on anyway. When his love finally came back he asked if he was done.

"Yes," she said. "Oh turn around," she commanded him.

He did as he was told. Buffy watched him turn and told herself that she was sooo lucky to have him. She snapped out of it a few moments later.

"Okay, done!" she exclaimed.

They picked most of their favorites and payed for them. The price was a little high at first for Angel, but after Buffy handed the cashier some card the price dropped some.

"Thank you," the man said and the couple walked out.

"You didn't want anything for yourself?" he asked.

"Well, yeah, but I wanted that store to be for you. Now we'll look around, having fun, and all that," she grinned.

"Fine," he shrugged. As long as he didn't have to try anything else on, he'd be fine.

"Oh, you know what? With all those outfits, you're gonna need new shoes! And I know the perfect place!" Buffy squealed as they walked in the shoe store.

Angel groaned, he didn't want to try on anything else. But maybe shoes would be different, because all he had to do was put shoes on and take shoes off. That was easy. Wasn't it?

When inside the store, Buffy took Angel's hand and sat him down in a little chair. He sat, and looked around him. There were a lot of shoes in here. A lot. He gulped.

In fact he didn't try on all the shoes. Only a couple, to his great relief. He tried on gym shoes, sandles, and dress shoes, though he didn't know why, he already had dress shoes at home. When he tried on sandles Buffy was laughing at him.

"What?" he asked, wanting to know what she was laughing at.

"You have the biggest farmer's tan!" she giggled.

He lookest down. His newly tanned legs were really tan compared to his paler that dead feet. He had never woren sandles before. What did she expect? But soon, her laughter became contagious and he was laughing as well.

Angel bought two pairs of sandles, one pairs of gym shoes, and one pair of new dress shoes, though he still didn't understand why he needed them.

"Well, that was fun," he said as they walked through the mall, hand in hand.

"Yeah, now where can we go?" she asked. Angel's stomach grumbled.

"Food court it is," she said.

At the food court they had some soup with some subs and a large Coke. Buffy was suggesting stores that they could go to.

"How bout the music store?" she asked.

"Fine with me," Angel shrugged.

They finished their meal and started to walk up the stairs. They hit the music store, Angel going to the classical section while Buffy hit the rock/alternative/pop section. When Angel joined her, she saw a CD in his hand.

"What'd ya get?" she asked, trying to look at what he was holding.

"Just Bach, nothing special," he said.

"You do know that he is dead, right?"

"No," he joked. "How could he be dead? You're not joking are you? No! Noooooo!" he shouted with mock passion.

The woman working looked at them funny. There was no one else in the store and here they were, she probably thought they they were crazy.

"Ha, ha," she looked annoyed.

"Are you going to get anything?" he asked.

She held up a CD, and Angel had to bend down to look at it.

"Matchbox 20? Never heard of them," he told her.

"Oh, nevermind."

Buffy bought the CD's and they decided to go the the bookstore next. It was downstairs so they had to take the stairs. They reached the store and began browsing. When they met up fifteen minutes later, they showed each other what they found.

"I got _Girl Interrupted_, Willow read it and said it was good, plus I saw the movie so..." Buffy trailed off.

"I picked _Antibodies_, it's an X-Files book. I figured that I'd try it," he shrugged.

Once again they payed for their purchase and walked into the mainstream of shoppers. It was starting to get crowded. Buffy made a quick stop at a candle place and she and Angel sniffed all the candles. Buffy bought two votives, Honeydew Melon, and Buttercream. She said that Buttercream reminded her of the smell of cookies.

The couple window shopped for a while, then decided to call it a day. They left the mall, all their shopping bags at hand. After spending five minutes trying to remember where the car was parked, they finally got to it. On the way home Angel pulled into a fast food restaurant, where he and Buffy ate dinner.

"Well, I had fun," Buffy said as she took a bite from her sandwich. "You?"

"I guess," he said. He kinda enjoyed it, but didn't see why some people got really excited when they went to that place. He thought that it'd probably get boring after a while.

"Angel?" Buffy asked.

"Yeah?"

"What did you forget?"

"Huh? When?"

"This morning, when we were walking up to the mall," she reminded him.

"Oh, my watch," he said.

"Oh, you didn't need it, I wore one."

"I know, that's why I said that I didn't need it," he told her.

"We'll have to go shopping again," Buffy suggested, breaking the moments of silence between them.

Angel's eyes widened.
