It was all Cordelia's fault. She had insisted that we get a CD player in the office and now was playing it as loud as she could 24/7. She had a thing for the band REM and loved the song "The One I Love". So guess what I got to hear ALL DAY! Yep REM. Now the song was stuck in my head, replaying itself over and over and over again. I was whistling it as I walked on the dark streets of LA. This one goes out to the one I love. Stake. This one goes out to the one I've left behind. Stake.

All day I never really stopped to listen to the words. Oh wait… this can't be good. Who does this remind me of? Me… and Buffy. There I said it. It hurts more and more to say her name. She used to be my world. But lately, lately she seems different. I haven't seen her all that often, but when I have, it's strange. Very strange.

Fire (she's coming down on her own, now)

She seems to be pulling herself down, and everyone else with her. Well everyone except me. I won't allow myself to be sucked back into her little world. As much as I would like to, I can't force myself to do that, not yet. I would and am trying to pull her up, but the rope is stretching and is near breaking.

So this one goes out to Buffy. Wherever she is, whatever she is doing. This one's for her. Of course, It's just a "simple prop" that takes up my time. It will be gone by tomorrow, this feeling that everything is going to fall apart, her and I included. But for now this one goes out to the one I love.
