SUMMARY: Buffy and Angel get a surprise.

TIMELINE: Six years after BTVS (S4) and ATS (S1)

BUFFY AND ANGEL'S APARTMENT - (APPROX. 1 MONTH AFTER ADJUSTMENTS)

Buffy helped Angel climb out of the sewer entrance and back into the apartment. Once he was out, she ordered him to go to bed.

"Buffy, I'm fine now" Angel complained.

"Well, I don't think you are. You said you felt sick and Vampires don't get sick" Buffy told him.

"Buffy, trust me. I'm fine".

"I'll trust you once you're in bed" Buffy ordered.

"I thought you'd never ask" Angel said flippantly.

"You need to nap" Buffy told him, when she saw the look in his eyes, she added "alone".

Angel came up to Buffy and said "I don't want to sleep" as he kissed her neck.

"Oh my god. Even when you're sick, you're a sex maniac"

Her comment did not deter Angel, who continued to kiss her and in between kisses said "Come on Buffy, you know you want to".

"Tomorrow, when you're feeling better" she replied with her resolve rapidly fading.

"Buffy" he begged, as he pulled her closer "Please".

Seeing his hurt puppy look, Buffy gave in. They climbed into the bed and Angel made her forget he ever felt sick.

ANGEL INVESTIGATIONS - OUTER OFFICE (ABOUT SIX WEEKS LATER)

Cordy looked across the office at the girl who had become her best friend over the last few months. Buffy didn't look so good and it was totally bothering her, she knew it was selfish but she didn't want to lose any more friends, she wanted Buffy around for a long time. At that thought, Cordy realised how much she had changed since high school, she finally knew what real friendship was and she had it with everyone that worked there, especially with Buffy.

"Buffy" Cordy said.

"Yeah, Cor" Buffy answered her sleepily.

"Are you sure you're ok?"

"I'm sure. I'm just a little tired, changing my routine from sleeping at night to during the day, is throwing me a little" Buffy told her.

"You sure?" Cordy asked concerned.

"Yeah. Don't worry, I'm fine. I just going to take a nap downstairs" Buffy said getting up and she headed for the lift.

ANGEL'S OFFICE - A FEW MINUTES LATER

Angel heard the knock on the door, just as it opened. Before anyone had even entered the room, he said "Hi Cor".

"Hey. How did you know it was me?" she asked.

"Lucky guess" Angel told her. He didn't want to tell her that she was the only person that he knew, rude enough to enter before being invited in.

"Ok" she said, buying his lame explanation.

She stood in front of him silently, until Angel prompted her with "You wanted?"

She paced the office in front of him before finally saying " I'm worried about Buffy?"

"Me too. But Cordy, she says that she's fine, just tired" Angel said.

"Do you actually believe that?" Cordy asked incredulously.

"Not in the slightest. I'll give her a couple more days and if she is still sick, I'll make her go to the doctor" Angel told Cordy.

"Good plan" Cordy commented. Just then the phone rang and she said "I'd better go answer that".

Angel watched Cordy leave his office and thought to himself that Cordy was an extremely strange woman sometimes.

BUFFY AND ANGEL'S APARTMENT - (A WEEK LATER)

Buffy sat in the bathroom and stared at the test results she held in her hand. It couldn't...wasn't possible, never mind it actually happening. She checked the instructions, for the thousandth time. Blue for positive, pink for negative. The result was blue.

"Oh my god" she whispered to herself "I'm pregnant".

A COUPLE OF HOURS LATER

Angel rolled over and reached for Buffy, he was surprised that she wasn't there. He sat up and checked the time, 3PM. < Where is she? > he thought < Maybe she left me >, that's when he realised how paranoid he sounded, she'd be back soon. He laid back down and attempted to go back to sleep.

CORDY'S BUILDING

After her doctor's appointment Buffy didn't know where to go and was rather surprised to find herself outside Cordy's building, instead of calling Willow. She went up and rang the bell, she heard a male voice yell "Just a sec". When the opened, Buffy saw Doyle standing there wearing only a towel.

"Where's Cordy?" Buffy asked, acting as if Doyle always stood around, half naked in front of her.

"She's in the kitchen, making me a snack" Doyle answered.

Buffy was momentarily distracted, asked Doyle in disbelief "She cooks?".

"She adds milk. Cocoa Puffs" Doyle said.

"Figures" Buffy mumbled.

"Wanna come in?" Doyle finally asked her.

Buffy went inside and headed towards the kitchen, when she saw Cordy there she said "You and Doyle?"

"What's wrong with Doyle?" Cordy said suspiciously.

"Not a thing. I'm way happy for you Cor" Buffy answered.

"Thanks" Cordy said, hugging Buffy. She noticed that Buffy was much quieter than usual, and she asked "What's wrong?"

"I need to talk to my best friend".

"You want to use my phone to call Willow?" Cordy asked her.

"I meant my best friend here in LA. You." Buffy said "Can we talk in private".

Cordy ecstatic that Buffy felt the same way about her, said to Buffy "Sure" and then yelled "Doyle, stay in the bedroom until I say you can come out".

"Ok, Princess" came a voice from the bedroom.

"Actually, I kinda meant we should go somewhere" Buffy told her.

"Oh, ok" she said to Buffy, she then yelled "Doyle, ignore my last comment".

"Ok, Princess" came the voice once more.

CAFE DESMONA

Cordy and Buffy were sitting at a table in the corner of LA's newest and trendiest cafe, when they had gotten their order Cordy said "Ok, Buffy. What's wrong?"

"You won't believe it?" Buffy told her.

"Sure, I will Buffy. I'm your best friend, it's in the job description" Cordy babbled.

"Ok" she said, then taking a deep breath continued "I'm pregnant".

"YOU'RE WHAT?" Cordy screamed.

"Hey Cor. Yell a little louder next time, I don't think they heard you in Bolivia" Buffy commented sarcastically.

"How could you do this to Angel?"

"Do what?" Buffy asked confused.

"Cheat on him" Cordy informed her.

"I didn't cheat on Angel" Buffy informed her.

"Then how? Because last time I checked Vampires couldn't have kids" Cordy said.

"Best I can figure is when Angel and I were chasing that demon through the sewers 5 or 6 weeks ago......."

"So.........." Cordy asked "What's that demon got to do with it?"

"It was a Morah demon" Buffy said.

"Oh, boy"

"Angel kinda fell into a pool of it's blood and he did say it made him feel funny".

"So, you think the blood rejuvenated him enough to......." Cordy tried to find a delicate way of saying what she meant.

"Yeah, I think that".

"Well, I guess it's possible, after all stranger things have happened" Cordy quipped, trying to lighten the mood.

"I know, they usually happen to me" Buffy commented dryly.

"So what happens next?" Cordy asked her.

"I tell Angel".

BUFFY AND ANGEL'S APARTMENT

Angel was pacing the apartment, waiting for Buffy's return, when he heard the lift. The second Buffy stepped off it, he yelled "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?"

"Huh?" Buffy said, suddenly confused.

"I'm sorry" he told her, pulling her close for a hug "It's just that I was so worried about you".

"It's ok Angel, I understand. But we need to talk".

The exact second Buffy said that, a million thoughts whirled through Angel's head, the most obvious was she was leaving him. He gathered his strength and asked her "What do we need to talk about?"

"Maybe you should sit down" Buffy said to him.

< Oh god > he thought < here it comes she's going to tell me, she's leaving me >. While Angel was thinking this, Buffy was pacing.

"Ok, I need to say something really important" since Angel was quiet, she continued "I'm pregnant".

When he was silent she quickly said "I'm only six weeks along and before you say anything, you know you are the only man I have ever slept with".

For about another two seconds Angel sat there with a look of shock on his face and then he jumped up and grabbed Buffy, whirling her around the room.

"I'm guessing, you're happy" she told him when he finally put her down.

"Yep" Angel said.

"Are you sure you're happy about the baby?" she asked him seriously.

"Come here and I'll show exactly how I feel about the baby" Angel said.

She went over to where he was sitting on the bed and was pulled down to it by Angel, who proceeded to show Buffy how much she and their unborn child meant to him.

LATER

Buffy rolled onto her side and said "From that demonstration, I gather you are extremely happy over my little announcement".

"Of course I am. Think about it Buffy, I never thought that I'd ever get the chance to be a father, let alone have children with my one true love. Then again I never thought I'd get another chance to be with you again either. I guess miracles really do happen" Angel told her.

Unable to find the words to express what he'd said had meant to her, Buffy simply told him "I love you Angel, forever".

"I love you too, both of you" he said as he placed a hand over her abdomen, as they settled down for a nap.
