season 4 or most of season 3 wouldn't have occurred).

SPOILERS: IWRY and general Buffy and Angel ones.

ANGEL'S APARTMENT - NEXT DAY
Angel was lying in bed next to Buffy watching her sleep thinking about how lucky he was. He also realised that there was one more thing she needed to know, he had to tell her the truth about the Thanksgiving she'd come to see him. He just didn't know how she'd take the news, he was hoping against hope that she'd understand and not leave him, for once again making decisions about her life. Buffy woke up and saw Angel staring at her.
"Good Morning" she said.
"Actually, it's afternoon"
"Big deal, don't care. As long as I have you" she said as she reached up for a kiss but Angel remained frozen. "What do I have bad afternoon breath or something?" she asked jokingly.
Angel got up and walked into the kitchen, Buffy followed.
"Angel, talk to me please. You're scaring me." Buffy said, as a feeling of unease settled over her and she thought to another time when Angel had acted funny. You're not turning evil on me are you?" she suddenly asked only half joking this time.
"Buffy, I didn't mean to scare you" Angel said hugging her close "I just have something to tell you and I'm not sure how to say it"
"What? Is it me? You don't want me anymore?" she asked hysterically.
"No, of not. I still want you desperately" Angel said soothingly.
"Then just tell me, it can't be that bad" Buffy told him.
He led Buffy to the couch and said "You'd better sit down". After she had he said "You know that thanksgiving when you came to see me" when she nodded he continued "You were here longer than five minutes".
"No, I wasn't. I remember talking, watching you slay a demon and then leaving" she replied.
"Would you please listen?" he asked.
"Sorry"
"What you saw was take two of the day. The first time I didn't kill the Morah demon, it escaped to the sewers and we went after it. After awhile we split up and you checked the surface, while I continued on in the sewers."
"Nice sewer story...." Buffy started, as she tried to get up only to be pushed back down by Angel as he cut her off by saying "It's not finished yet"
"Sorry" she said again.
"I found the demon and fought it. I killed it but before I did, some of it's blood mixed with mine and suddenly I was alive."
"What, you were human?"
He answered her question with a nod before continuing. "I came back to the office, shocking both Cordy and Doyle. I needed to know if it was permanent or what, so Doyle took me to the Oracles and they told me I was to live out the rest of my life as a mortal. After that I did what I always wanted to do the most."
"What was that?" she asked him, suddenly interested in what he was saying.
"See you in the sunlight."
As he was telling her this Buffy remembered a dream she'd had, a lot over the last six years. Angel kissing her in sunlight, hearing his heartbeat, feeling like a normal girl with a normal boyfriend. Was it real? she thought.
Angel continued "I found you on the pier and I walked up to you and I couldn't help it I just had to kiss you. Then we came back here and sat at the table talking."
Buffy just sat there listening, she remembered the talk and what happened afterwards.
"We decided to be mature and take things slow, and you got up to leave, we touched hands. And it was like spontaneous combustion, we started to kiss and then we made love"
She remembered the kitchen table, the shower, the bedroom. Oh boy did she remember, especially the table, she'd never been so happy.
"We spent the whole day in bed together and I'd never been so happy. Then Doyle had a vision of the demon rising again, so I went to fight it and got my butt seriously kicked, but you saved me and killed the demon. I went back to the Oracles and asked your fate if I remained human. They said you'd die and so I asked them to turn me back into a vampire, they said they could only do it if the day was turned back as if it had never happened and that I'd be the only one who'd remember it."
Angel tried to judge Buffy's reaction but she seemed to be lost in thought. "I came back here and told you what, I'd done and you said....."
Buffy cut Angel off by saying "I'd never forget"
"How did you know?" Angel asked puzzled at her response.
"I've had dreams about it, only until now I thought they were just fantasies of mine."
"Your not mad?" Angel asked hopefully.
"Sure I am, but it's nothing that I won't get over eventually."
"Really?" he still couldn't believe it.
"Yep, but only because you did it to save me" Buffy replied kissing him gently.
"Yeah, I did".
"Well none of it matters now we're together and we have another chance"Buffy said.
"Forever" Angel said.
"That's the whole point" Buffy answered him. They kissed and Buffy asked "So are you coming back to bed or not?"
"Like you could stop me" Angel said picking her up and carrying her off to the bedroom.
