THE MANSION (A FEW DAYS AFTER ARGUMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS)
Buffy and Angel arrived in Sunnydale about 10PM and decided to wait until the next evening to visit Xander and his family. They unpacked and were getting ready for bed when he saw Buffy grab his cell phone.
"What are you doing?" Angel asked her.
"Calling Wils".
"What if she and Oz are...busy?" Angel asked.
Buffy replied, ""They always interrupt us. I think it should be the other way around for a change".
Angel looked at her for a second before saying, "Sometimes I wonder who's side you're really on?"
"What do you mean?" Buffy said, confused.
"Because you have some truly evil ideas".
"Ha-ha" Buffy muttered, as she dialled Willow and Oz's number.
~Ring, Ring~
"Oh Oz...more...ooh...OZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...BEEP".
Buffy while laughing said, "Hey Wils, were back in Sunnydale. Ring Angel's cell when you get the chance".
"What's wrong?" Angel asked, as she hung up.
"Wils machine message..."
"What about it?" Angel asked, confused.
"They must of pressed the record button while they were..."
Angel joined in the laughter with Buffy, all the time wondering how many people had rang them tonight, with that message.
After they had calmed down they curled up together and fell asleep.
*
The next morning Buffy was awoken by Angel's cell ringing.
"Hello?" she mumbled into it
"Hey Buff" Willow's cheerful voice came down the line.
"So Wils" Buffy asked, "What's with the amateur porn on the answering machine?"
"What?" Willow asked, wondering what Buffy was on about.
"Let me refresh your memory. Ooh OZ...more Oz" Buffy said giggling.
"Oh My God" Willow said, ashamed.
"You're just lucky that it was me and not your mother calling" Buffy chastised.
"So are you guys going to see baby Alex later?" Willow said, attempting to change the subject.
"Yeah" Buffy answered, suddenly distracted by the hand creeping up her thigh.
"Good, because Giles said he needs to talk to both of you" Willow told her.
"That's great Wils" Buffy said, as Angel began to kiss her neck.
"Look Wils I gotta go, something just came up. See you" Buffy said, hanging up. She turned to Angel and said, "I told you she always interrupts".
They were the last words spoken for a very long time.
XANDER'S HOUSE (THAT NIGHT)
Buffy and Angel pulled up in front of a modest single storey house in the good part of Sunnydale. They climbed out of the car and headed towards Xander's front door, but were cut off by Willow who came barrelling out of the house.
"Buffy".
"Wils".
The girls hugged and Willow said, "You look great".
"Thanks. How much is Angel paying you to say it?" Buffy joked.
"20 bucks" Willow teased back, as they continued on into Xander's house.
Once inside they went into the living room, where they were greeted with the site of Xander the klutz holding a tiny baby.
"Hey Guys" Xander whispered.
"Hi" Buffy whispered back, while Angel nodded in
acknowledgment.
"Woah, Buff. Your as big as my house" Xander joked.
"Ha-ha" Buffy replied, as she tried to restrain Angel from killing Xander over the joke.
Xander then said, "Buff, would you like to hold him?"
"Sure" Buffy said, moving over to the couch where Xander was sitting, and her handed her his offspring.
"He's so small" Buffy commented.
"Yeah, I know. I'm still amazed by him" Xander said, then got up. "I'll go get his bottle ready".
After Xander had left the room Buffy asked Willow, "What's wrong with Xan?"
"Anya left him and the baby yesterday" Willow replied.
"What?" Buffy and Angel chorused.
"She said she was in love with Spike. And she didn't need Xander or a reminder of him around, that's why she wouldn't marry him" Willow said, bitterly.
"How could anyone be so selfish?" Buffy said.
"We are talking about Anya here" Willow reminded Buffy.
"Oh yeah".
The doorbell rang and Willow went to answer it. She let Giles in and he headed straight for Buffy and Angel.
"Hey Giles".
"Hello Buffy" Giles said, then getting a look at her, "My goodness..."
"Yeah, I guess I look different" Buffy replied.
"To say the least" Giles said.
Xander came back into the room and handed the bottle to Buffy.
"Hey Giles" he said.
"Well now I have you all together, I can tell you of the prophecy".
"What prophecy?" Angel asked.
"The one about Xander's son and your unborn child" Giles said.
"What about our baby?" Buffy said, panicked.
"Nothing bad. It's about two children, a boy and a girl. One born of two warriors, one light and one dark and the other born of a warrior and a demon who once was". Seeing the confusion on Buffy and Xander's faces said,
"Your son and Buffy's soon to born daughter".
"Giles", Buffy said. "My doctor told Angel and I we're having a boy".
"He did?" Giles questioned, not wanting to believe his beloved books were wrong.
"Yeah" Angel said.
"I was sure...Xander's son has the birthmark...I just assumed..." Giles said flustered.
"Sorry to disappoint" Buffy told him.
"I need to research" Giles said, getting up. "I'll see you all later".
After Giles left all thoughts of prophecy were put out of their heads, as they spent time catching up and reminiscing about the old days, before heading home.
THE MANSION
Buffy was lying in bed awake, staring at the ceiling. Angel sensing this awoke, "Buffy what's wrong?"
"I don't know" Buffy said, sniffling.
"What is it?" Angel asked, gently.
"I guess, I wish my mom wasn't acting like such a bitca...This is the first time I've been back, that I haven't seen her".
"She'll come around" Angel said, totally unconvincingly.
"Did anyone ever tell you, you're a really bad liar?" Buffy asked.
"Nope".
"Well you are" Buffy replied, kissing him.
Angel pulled her close to him and into a hug, just content to hold her. He was about to kiss her when the bedroom door flew open and Spike ran in.
"Peaches, Slayer. You've gotta help me" Spike said, in desperation.
"Why?" Angel asked.
"Because that bloody Anya's after me. I tried to tell I'm not interested, but she won't take no for an answer" Spike said, in a panic.
"Well Buffy, should we help him?" Angel asked.
"Nope. I say we let Anya catch him" Buffy replied, sleepily.
"Sorry Spike. You're on your own" Angel said, with a smile.
Spike stood there in shock, he couldn't believe they wouldn't help him. He suddenly heard a noise downstairs and quickly exited the room and ran for his life.
Angel seeing this laughed and reminded himself to tell everyone back home, before he fell asleep.
