Spike walked through the door of his crypt. "Hi honey, I'm home" he called.

"Oh yer right, no honey" he looked around at the devastation "And sod all of a home" he muttered sarcastically.

Somebody or something had done a real number on his crypt; all his belonging had been either scattered or destroyed.

No more creature comforts for Spike, he thought as he worked his way through the debris, finally kicking out in temper.

"I hate this town, I really do"

Reaching behind a stone statue he retrieved a bottle of beer from its hiding place, at least they'd missed that. Tearing the top off he almost drained the bottle in one go.

Spike was depressed; really depressed, nothing went his way anymore.

"Bloody Slayer "

He sipped his beer this time, feeling even more sorry for himself. Adam was defeated, the SG were all pissed at him and to make matters worse, he still had that bloody chip inside his head. Life was so unfair. He sulked.

At that moment his vampire hearing picked up the sound of approaching footsteps, at once he was fully alert, he spun around immediately vamping out.

Riley Finn stood in the doorway holding a crossbow; he pointed it directly at Spikes' heart.

Spike growled a little then changed back."Bloody scare a guy or what? " he demanded dismissing the boy as a threat.

" Hostile 17." Riley greeted him.

Spike became alert once more. "G.I. Joe, or is it *Ex* G.I. Joe now?

They both traded insults, never once dropping eye contact.

Keeping his attention firmly on the crossbow, Spike decided to try his luck."So, what do you want? Good old Buffy dumped your sorry ass, gone running back to that bloody poof yet " Spike smirked.

He watched the torment in the other mans' eyes grow with each word, he had only meant to wind him up but seeing the reaction it received he realised he had hit a raw nerve.

"Don't push me Vampire" Riley threatened waving the crossbow slightly.

"Oh! I'm shaking right down to my boots, now why don't you piss off. I'm busy"Spike raised the bottle back to his lips and drank the remaining liquid.

Riley didn't move. "I thought you and me could have a little talk?" His voice seemed relaxed and in control, yet Spike could smell the fear radiating off this human.

He was about to dismiss him again when he noticed something appear in Riley's eyes, *desperation*

"Well? Spit it out" Spike demanded, feeling the upper hand now.

" I'm thinking you could help me"...

Spike roared with laughter.

"Me? Help you, why would I want to help you? I hate you, remember?

He rolled his eyes, this fool was even more stupid then he'd given him credit for.

"But I'm guessing you hate Angel even more, from what I've been hearing you and he are not exactly best buddies?" Riley waited, he couldn't read the expression on the vampires' face.

"Besides, you help me and I'll help you. I can remove your chip." Riley finished, his eyes were alive with excitement, he knew he had finally caught Spikes' attention.

"Keep going." The vampires' voice was low and dangerous.

"You help me kill Angel, I'll take care of your little chip problem" Riley explained simply.

Spikes' smile grew, this day was finally looking up. He thought for a moment

"Might piss the slayer off a bit," he shrugged his shoulders and grinned. "But that never bothered me before…..So you want to kill Angel?... WHY?" Spike was now sceptical, sensing a trap.

Rileys' voice changed. "I've just received some information from a lawyer friend of mine, he works in L.A for Wolfram and Hart. Well, it seems they have been having trouble with a certain vampire……."

Spike raised his eyes to tell Riley that he wasn't buying any of this crap. "You want to get to the point, before I die of old age?" he asked sarcastically

"Right, bottom line. The scroll Angel stole from them foretold a prophecy, Angel will one day become human." Rileys' voice couldn't hide the bitterness he felt.

"That's more like it!" Spike roared again. "Priceless, bloody priceless. So Angel's *human" and five seconds later he's jumping your EX girlfriends" bones. That's one thing you can bet your life on."

Spike knew Riley was far from impressed by his little speech, the pathetic little sod was so easy to wind up.

"So that's where you come in. You help me set up and kill the bastard before that happens, you take the blame and…"

" You take out the chip" Spike nodded thoughtfully.

He pulled out another beer. Ignoring Riley he knocked it back then, finally, turned his attention back to the boy.

"You're almost as evil as I am, I like that. You get the girl, I take credit for the kill, you're the good guy still and…."

"Everybody hates your guts " Riley offered.

"Only the pathetic humans, the vampire brotherhood will welcome me back with open arms. YES!! Maybe we can do business after all. " Spike nodded.

Riley lowered the crossbow. " When, when can we do it?" Riley was really impatient now, he wanted it over. Angel must never be allowed to get near *his* girlfriend again"

"Yesterday, tomorrow, right now. But that's not the problem, I'm more interested in this." Spike tapped his head. "Are you sure you can deactivate it?"

Spike glared at Riley. If this was false hope he might just lose all control and sod the consequences.

Riley now smiled. "Not a problem". He confirmed.

"Yer, but all the equipment, it blew up, right?

Spike didn't trust him; hell Spike didn't trust anybody.

"Right, everything except this" Riley produced a small remote control and before Spike could even speak, he gave him a warning. "Don't even think about it, it needs a password and I'm the only one who knows it"

Spikes' mind was working overtime.

"Beer?" he smiled.

****

"So what if you forget the password?" Spike slurred his words

Riley smiled and dropped the bottle he was holding onto the pile in front of them.

"No fear, I've got in printed right here, in my heart." Riley gave a crooked grin and tried to put his hand on his chest, he missed his heart completely.

Before he even had time to notice, Spike had retrieved the small control, he suddenly appeared completely sober.

"Hey, give that back that's mine." Riley lunged forward and went sprawling. He turned back and laughed. "Told you, stupid vampire you need a password"

"OH. so you did, silly me, now let's see?" Spike looked down at the buttons "Oh yes, B.U.F.F.Y. click." He felt a tingle in his head as the chip switched off.

Riley looked at him in amazement "Wait, how did you do that?" he moaned realising too late that he had been tricked.

"That is the least of your worries mate" Spike smiled as his eyes changed colour and his fangs grew.

"I'm starving." The vampire laughed and sunk his fangs deep into the boys' neck. Riley managed to find enough strength to push him off. He staggered back in horror holding his neck.

Spike stalked forward.

"Why? "Riley screamed in terror.

"I can't let you kill Angel, he's my bleedin' Sire for Christ' sake and you know what they say about *Blood being thicker than…*" He grabbed the helpless boy and finished off draining him. He dropped the lifeless body to the floor as his face changed back.

"Besides, if anybody's gonna kill the bloody wanker its gonna be me"

Spike laughed heartily, he shoved his hands deep into the pockets of his leather coat and with a large grin on his cocky face walked out into the night.

" Hello Sunnydale I'm back"
