Summary: Buffy/Angel post 'Angel' Btvs S1
Rated: PG
AN: A 15minute ficlet. The word was complicated.
If her head had been in the clouds a little less, if her thoughts had been on something beside a tall, dark, broody someone she might have noticed the person following her sooner. As it was, she didn't even become aware until she was at her house, posed in front of the tree to climb through her window. She got the peculiar, neck tingling feeling and a smile played over her lips.
"You know, we're really going to have to talk about your stalking issues."
A deep chuckle came from the shadows seconds before he stepped out. "I wanted to make sure you got home safe."
"Aww, that's sweet, but I'm the slayer. I'm always safe.or in danger. Anyway, it's a walk home not an apocalypse."
He shrugged. "Maybe I wanted to walk you home." He gave her an all too brief glimpse of his sexy half grin. She was sure it was on purpose, something that sexy didn't happen by accident. She was sixteen year old girl, she knew these things.
She stepped closer to him, her hands coming to rest on his chest. "Maybe?"
He bent his head so that his lips were a whisper from hers. "Maybe."
She lowered her eyes, unable to meet the intensity in his gaze. She swallowed hard, catching a glimpse of pale, marble, flesh framed by the white collar of his chest. Her brow furrowed and she raised a hand to glide her fingers just over the burn there.
He bit back a groan, the pain of her almost touch much more than the pain her fingertips caressing that raw, burnt skin would cause.
"Angel, what happened?" Her eyes looked up at him confused, mystified. He hadn't had time to get into a fight and stalk her on the way home.
It was his turn to look away, cast his eyes toward the ground. He shrugged a little. "Your-that kiss" he stopped and started, the memory of her lips against his causing more turmoil than a burn ever could.
She gasped, her hand flying to the cross at her neck. "Oh God, I am so sorry. I am such an idiot! I didn't even think!" She paused in berating herself as the obvious question came to mind. "Why didn't you say anything.the pain." she winced, remembering the way vampires screamed when she used a cross against them.
He looked back up at her, that half grin taking reign again. "What pain?"
Confusion marred her features again. "That-when I kissed.I burned you. I'm sorry."
He shook his head. "There was only the kiss." He leaned toward her, lips brushing her like a birds wing and than deeper, staking his claim. She wrapped herself around him, trying to get closer, needing to be a part of him. She didn't care, didn't remember that they were in her front yard, her back pushed up against the rough bark of the tree. He pulled away, giving her time to catch her breath, his skin smoking again.
"You know, if we keep this up.things could get complicated." There was a serious warning in his eyes. There was also a desire that burned her from the inside.
"I never really liked simple. Complicated is so much more exciting," she promised.
