*Where is she?* Angel thought to himself as he stared at the clock. It was 6:45 P.M. and Buffy was supposed to come by at 6:30 P.M. Angel walked to the couch and sat down. *I'll give her 15 more minutes, then I'm going out there.*

There was a knock at the door.

Angel jumped up and ran to the door, trying to keep from showing how nervous he was. *What if she says no? What if she laughs?* He stopped, took a breath, and opened the door.

"Hi honey, sorry I'm late. Giles wanted to go over some demon stuff and I couldn't get away", Buffy told her boyfriend as she walked into his apartment. She looked around at the apartment, which was now covered with lighted candles and roses. Her eyes widened.

"Whoa..." was all she could manage to say.

*Just get this over with* Angel told himself. He turned to Buffy.

"Buffy, I love you more than anything in the world. You are my light in the darkness, and I can't imagine my life without you. I am thankful every day that you are with me." Angel paused and went over to the radio and turned it on.

"Tonight we have a very special request," the radio anouncer said. "This song is dedicated to Buffy Summers, from Angel. He says he loves you, and will you marry him? This is "Shameless" by Garth Brooks."

Buffy stood there in shocked silence.

Angel got down on one knee and took Buffy's hand. He looked into her eyes and spoke. "I love you, and I would be honored if you would be my wife". With that he reached into his pocket and brought out a diamond ring, which he placed on her ring finger.

"Will you marry me?"

Buffy looked down at him, her eyes filled with tears. "Yes", was all she could manage to say before she dropped down to both knees and hugged Angel tightly.

"I love you," Buffy told him as she kissed him. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he brought his arms up around her waist. She broke off the kiss as Angel pulled her into his lap. She laid her head against his chest and sighed contentedly.

"I love you," Angel replied to her. "And I'm really glad you said yes", he told her, with a smile.

"Of course I would say yes! Cause, you know, I'm kinda attached to you," Buffy replied, kissing his chin.

Angel lifted Buffy's chin and looked into her eyes. "Thank you," he told her softly.

"For what?"

"For loving me. For being there for me. For giving me a reason to get up each day. For just being you."

Buffy smiled. "Anytime", she said, returning her head to the place under his chin and closing her eyes.
