Buffy opened her eyes and looked at the clock. It was three in the afternoon and she wondered why the baby hadn't cried. He was usually up and screaming for his breakfast by now. Well if he wasn't up yet she would wait until he was. Buffy moved closer to Angel and snuggled into his side; his arm moved around her waist and pulled her to him. He nuzzled her hair and murmured something she didn't quite catch before she fell back asleep in his strong arms.

Angel had awoken to find Buffy nestled snugly in his arms. Her head rested on his chest and he could feel her breath warm his cold skin. He loved watching her sleep, it was the one time that the weight of the world did not rest on her shoulders, she was at peace, all thoughts of duty and responsibility gone for a short time. Oh there were other times that she found peace, like when they had the time to be a family. When he could keep the world away for awhile, when nothing or no one existed but their little family. Today would be one of those days, he had everything planned, and God help anyone who interfered with them.

Angel covered his wife's face with kisses; she had told him that it was one of her favourite ways to wake up. Buffy slowly came awake with the gentle urgings of her husband. Soon she was returning his kisses and trembling as his hands played across her bare skin. "Ummm I like waking up like this." She whispered.

"Well that's good because I like waking you up like this." Angel's hand moved lower caressing her, bringing her to the brink of pleasure, when a cry shattered the spell he had woven over her.

"Ohhh," Buffy groaned as Angel pulled away for her. "Couldn't he have slept a little while longer?"

"You know better than that Baby, I think he likes the idea of being an only child." Angel frowned as he rose from the bed. He went to retrieve his son for his morning feeding. As he reached the crib the little boy reached up with his arms wanting his father to pick him up. "How's my big boy this morning?" He kissed his son's head as he carried him over to where Buffy waited.

"Da" The baby replied as he wrapped his arms around his father.

"I bet you're hungry, aren't you?" Angel asked as he handed him over to Buffy.

Buffy watched as father and son interacted, God how lucky she was to have the two of them. She knew for certain that without them her life would be one long nightmare. Buffy was pulled from her thoughts when Angel reached them carrying their son.

"Mama" The small child called as he saw one of his two favourite people in the world.

"Good morning to you too." She greeted him as he crawled into her lap and latched on to one of her breasts. She had him down to nursing twice a day, breakfast and before bedtime. While her friends thought this was strange her husband didn't. He could remember when children were nursed until the age of five, and in some places still were. He still took her blood which he was learning to take in a cup but was resistant to the idea. "I bet you don't know what day it is do you?" When he looked up at her she continued knowing that she would only have half of his attention until he finished his meal. "Well today is Easter and that means last night the Easter Bunny came and left you something special."

"Oh did he now? He didn't happen to leave something for Daddy did he?" Angel asked her. He knew how excited she had been about Pól's first Easter along with every other holiday that had passed.

"I do believe he did. You'll find it in the fridge in your Easter basket, look all the way in the back." Buffy told him as she moved Pól to her other breast. Once he had finished nursing, Buffy gave him to Angel to change while she dressed. Buffy guided her small family into the kitchen and was surprised at what she found there. In addition to the small chocolate bunny and bunny shaped teething toy she found a giant stuffed rabbit for Pól and a jumbo sized chocolate bunny with her name written across the box in Angel's flowing script. Next to the chocolate bunny was a gorgeous white Easter Lilly. "Oh my God Angel this is... like wow. How did you know that I wanted a chocolate bunny?" She kissed first him than their son. "And the flower is so pretty."

"Well the way you looked at the bunnies in the store was a dead giveaway. The bunny is from our son and I gave you the Lilly because of what is symbolises." He explained as he started to make Buffy's breakfast.

Buffy sat Pól in his high chair and turned to her husband. "Okay, what does it symbolise?" She was unable to contain her curiosity any longer.

"Resurrection and rebirth." He answered simply. "Resurrection, for like the Phoenix you have risen me from the ashes of my former life. Rebirth because with the love you gave me, and the birth of our son you have given me hope for the future, something I thought lost with my mortality. You have given me more than you will ever know and I will never be able to show just how much that means to me, though I will try every chance I get." Angel said as he gave her a sly grin.

Buffy leaned over and kissed his cheek, "Down boy. You’re going to have to wait your turn, we promised to make this a family day and that means the three of us together."

"I know Baby and as soon as you finish you're breakfast we can get this day started." Angel handed Buffy her breakfast then some juice into a sipper cup and put some Cheerios on the tray in front of Pól and started to wash the dishes.

Angel held Buffy close to him as she drifted off to sleep. He wanted to hold off sleep as long as he could, this day had been perfect. They had spent the day together as a family, Angel refused to allow the real world to intrude on them. He had taken them to Buffy's favorite Japanese restaurant where she had, as she called it, 'pigged out' on shrimp tempura, then polished off a steak. When they got home Pól was cranky and ready for bed which suited both of them just fine. Once the baby was in bed it was Buffy and Angel's turn. Now two hours later Angel lay in bed fighting exhaustion, not wanting the day to end, as he let sleep take he knew that they would make another just like it tomorrow.
