Rating: PG-13, just to be safe...pretty much just implied stuff
Sypnosis: You're just going to have to read it now aren't you?! Very
Fluffy.
Author's Notes: Fluff, Fluff, Fluff. Sorry if there are any grammer
mistakes. The title has nothing to do with the story. I couldn't think of
another title. Oh, and Xander has a brother that just came home from
Tibet...because I say so.
Spoilers: I Will Remember You
Distribution: Take it. Oh, if you want to you can tell me where it's going,
but I doesn't really matter to me.
Disclaimer: Who reads these anyway?! We all know they belong to Joss and his
evil universe that he has created. Uhh...duh!
It was a beautiful day. Spring flowers were blooming, birds were singing, college kids playing a rousing game of frisbee on the Sunnydale campus. It was a beautiful day. Outside. Inside, was a different story. A certain Slayer was in a sleep-like trance on the Stevenson hall couch surrounded by her very studious Scooby Gang.
They were researching the newest uberevil and it was going very slowly. They ended up in the Foyer of Stevenson Hall because Giles' apartment was being fumigated and it was just too darn hot to be all the way up in Will and Buffy's dorm room. Xander's brother had come home from Tibet so, all the laundry was taking up his space. So, the foyer of the Hall was ok for them. Plus, it was a Sunday, so there weren't too many students. In the backround Buffy heard the ever annoying Anya pleading to Xander to come with her to "do something" and she finally heard 2 pairs of footsteps walking away. She heard a quiet mumbling that sounded like Giles before she completely slipped into oblivion.
"If we let something happen here, we'd want more..." The kiss. One word-Passion. Kitchen table. Chocolate. Ice Cream. Satin Sheets. Thump...thump...thump. The Oracles...Who are they? "I'll never forget...I'll never forget...I'll never forget..."
"I'LL NEVER FORGET!!!" shouted Buffy. Her eyes flew open and she sat up straight as a board. Everyone in the foyer looked strangly at her.
"Umm, Buffy, you ok?" asked Willow.
"Uhh...uhh...mmm hmm." she lamely confirmed. She looked at her friends. The four friends (Xander and Anya had come back) looked at Buffy with concern.
"I must have dozed off...uh Will, can I see you for a sec?" Buffy said.
"Uh sure." agreed the red head.
"Actually, it could do us all a favor and take a break. How about we reconvene around...say 7:30?" offered Giles. The Scoobies mumbled an affirmative and broke up. Willow and Buffy walked up the stairs silently heading to their dorm. When they got to their dorm Buffy shut the door and sighed.
"Will, its aweful!! I thought it was over with him! Then this dream...and I can't get him out of my head...and him being human and all. And the ice cream...it was wonderful! What does this all mean!!??" she broke down
"Buffy, it's going to be ok, shh, it's going to be ok. That was months ago and he's moved on to others. He is slime! He's a no good..mean...guy! I hate Parker!!!" Willow shouted.
"No, no, not Parker," she sobbed, "...Angel." Willow let out a small gasp.
Almost afraid, she asked "What happened?"
*********
Willow sobbed with her friend. The two were so close that when Buffy cried, Willow hurt too. Best friends. Buffy had told her the dream.
"Uhh, so what are you going to...do?" Willow asked.
"Well, I don't see what I can do. We agreed to stay away from each other...and...and it was just a dream...definatly not prophetic or anything, just," she hesitated, "nice. And soothing. And hopeful."
They sat in silence. Willow's watch went off.
"I set it for 7:30..."
"Yeah. Let's go." They grabbed their used Kleanex and tossed them away. Willow grabbed a bag of Oreos and headed out the door.

Later that night, Buffy was patrolling in the cemetary. She just *happened* to be in the cemetary nearest Crawford street. But that was a minor detail. Her mind was on other things. She wandered around, not really paying much attention to anything in particular. Suddenly, she was attacked by a pack of vamps, maybe 10, but definitely too many for her. She staked 2, maybe 3, it was all fuzzy to her. She really didn't care. After her wonderful dream earlier she was content to just die. Oh, she knew that she had so much to live for, and maybe Angel would *someday* become human, but she felt weak, so she stopped fighting. Her last memory was the sharp slice of fangs into her soft neck and an almost inaudible voice screaming her name.
**********
It was Angel (Of course!). He used his unnatural strength to exterminate them all and quickly found the Slayer's limp body.
"Oh god, oh God, oh God!!! Buffy don't do this to me! Not now! Not after all I've done! I couldn't go on living!!" He felt for any kind of pulse.
Luckily, there was one, but just barely. Just unconcious...good. Not a lot of blood loss, but he had to get her fixed up. He gently picked her up and carried her...anywhere. The Mansion. He was in luck, it was nearby and he briefly thought about how much fate played a part in this. He reached the door and carried her upstairs. He laid her down on the bed and slipped her leather jacket off. It was his. He pondered this while he reached in the first aid bag that he managed to grab before he fled the cemetary. He carefully bandaged her wounded body, changed her into one of his old shirts, and went to the kitchen to find any kind even remotly edible food. He came back with some ice cream that had been hiding in the very back of his still-running freezer. He set it on the night table and went to shut the curtains. He settled himself in the chair by the bed and watched the newly-lit fire as he dozed off to sleep.
*********
Buffy awoke with a start. She shot up in the unfamilier bed and looked about. The mansion? How did she get there? She cautiously got up and headed downstairs. In the kitchen she saw an unusual sight. Angel, for one. Two, he was whistling, and three, he was making PANCAKES.
"An-Angel?" She was hesitant for fear she was just imagining this wonderful sight.
"Buffy...uhh, I-" he was cut off by Buffy kissing him. She wrapped her legs around his waist and kissed him with all the pent up passion and longing that the months had done to them. He pressed her up against the fridge and then moved over to the kitchen table...
"My-dream-is-coming-true..." she absentmindedly said between kisses.
Angel pulled back, "Dream?"
"Yeah." she smiled and craned her neck up to kiss him again. He resisted and brought her up off the table. She continued about the dream and what happened.
"Why do you have trouble-face?" she asked cautiosly.
"Because that wasn't a dream...it happened. Everything." Buffy's mouth hung open "I wanted to be the only one with the burden-"
"Shhh, that's the...past. Wait, do you hear something?" her slayer sense was kicking into overdrive, "it's like a...a...thump, thump, thump--only very quickly."
Angel smiled. She had to know. He reached out his hand and caught hers. He brought it up to his chest, on the left side, to be exact. Thump, thump, thump. Buffy opened her mouth. Then shut it, then opened it again.
"It's you...you...you're...you.." she stuttered.
"Yes I am me and yes, it's true. I'm...I'm alive!" the stupidest grin crossed his face.
"Oh my, oh my God! Angel! I'm so happy! How long have you known!?!?"
"Yesterday afternoon. My heart started to beat. All of a sudden. I went to see the Oracles and they confirmed it. I have earned redemption. I'm free!!! And the best part is...I keep my strength too."
"I can think of a better part than that." she smiled seductivly.
"Tanning oppurtunities?" he played.
"Nope"
"Tasting food?"
"Nope"
"Then what?"
"Let me give you a hint..." and with that they re-enacted Buffy's dream.
*********
Buffy woke up, and before she opened her eyes she knew that the rest of the day was going to be wonderful. Around her were the strong arms of an ex-vampire who was peacefully sleeping. They had done *it* and he was still there. She wanted this moment to last forever. He stirred.
"Mmm, morning." he whispered in her ear.
"Morning." She smiled. They stayed in their comfortable embrace for awhile.
"Oh my God! Giles and everybody is probably scouring Sunnydale searching for a dead slayer! Oh my God I-totally-forgot-about-them..." she slurred the last part lost in Angel's gaze.
"It's ok, it's ok. After breakfast we'll call them, and tell them you're alright. Okay?" reasoned Angel. He didn't want either of them to leave their sweet embrace.
"Ok." She smiled, and he kissed her on the back of the head.
"I'll never leave you again. Ever." He whispered.
"Yeah well, I'll never let you. Ever. And I'm the Slayer, so I can guarentee that."
"I thought you didn't kill humans." he replied coolly.
She thought for a moment. "Well, then I guess you'll have to stay!!!" Angel laughed. He loved how she never made sense except in her own mind. He loved her. And she, him.
