Buffy Summers looked at the huge brick building in front of her. She looked to the welcoming sign which read "Welcome to Success at Sunnydale High School." Of course, it was the new and improved one, seeing that she had burnt and exploded the one 10 years earlier. But, that was the past. She now was working there as a teacher who, surprisingly was somewhat liked among the greater populace of the high school. She liked it a lot.
"Another day. Yippee." she spoke to herself sarcastically.
It's not like she didn't like her job, quite the contrary. She loved it. It was literally her whole life. She taught a relatively new course called Myths and Legends. The school had added it as a class about 8 years before to explain "logically" what exactly *had* happened those many years ago at her class's graduation.
Buffy had gotten the job about 5 years ago and she loved it. When interviewed, they asked her if she had any experience around that subject.
She had to stifle a laugh. Since she had quit the council around the time of her graduation, to when she rejoined, and then officially retired a few years back, she had memorized the different kinds of demons. Giles had made her little quizzes when she started to show an interest in demonology so she just went with the flow. She finally made it through college with a degree in Demonology and Folklore and then she went to Europe to learn more about the subject. She returned home after a year and heard about the job opening at Sunnydale because unfortunately the teacher had mysteriously "disappeared." Everyone knew it was vamps that took her and killed her, but no one talked about it.
Buffy walked into the hall and stopped at room 214. She unlocked her room and set her messenger bag on the desk. She walked to the main office to get her mail smiling and nodding to her co- workers on the way.
"Buffy, hey." She knew that voice. The Principal.
"Hey Xand. Did you get my e-mail that I sent you about textbooks? Lori in the math department says her student's textbooks are falling apart and that they have to use rubber bands to keep them together."
"You know, you're always looking out for other people! That must be why you're such a popular teacher. And yeah, I got the e-mail..." They continued their conversation until the bell rang signaling when students were allowed in classrooms.
"Xander, I gotta book. First period starts in 15 minutes and I promised a student I would find them an excellent study book for our next unit -vampires. See ya."
"See you Buffy!"
She went to her classroom and the day began and was pretty normal. She taught the introductory classes on vampires, and assigned a reading assignment to finish the remainder of the class off with. After teaching 9th period, she sat down at her desk and took out a well worn leather-bound book. She flipped through the pages full of lacy handwritten words scripted by a vampire that had given it to her so many years ago. A tear slipped down her cheek, but she quickly wiped it away.
"Uhh, Buffy?" It was a student; Nina Wendell to be exact. She let her students call her by her first name, it made her feel old when she was called Ms. Summers, plus, the students were delighted when they actually call their teacher her first name. She looked up at the girl, not more than 16. It made the former slayer recall the days when she was first called.
"Nina? What can I do for you?" She smiled
"Well, I was wondering if we're still on for tonight?" Buffy liked to get to know her students better by studying, listening to them about whatever, and having coffee with them at the local cafe. Yet another reason they liked her -she listened to them and tried to change things by their suggestions.
"Of course! Wouldn't miss it!" she replied to Nina with a cheerful smile.
She smiled a lot.
"Uh, Buffy? Is everything OK?"
"Yep, just peachy. Meet you at 6:30?" she started to pack up her things because the ending bell was about to sound.
"Yeah...sure, that'd be great. See ya!" Nina replied as she ran out the door. The bell had rang and the students were leaving.
"See ya Buffy...bye Buffy...later B...see ya..." the students shouted their good-byes to their favorite teacher. Soon, she was all alone in her classroom. She looked down to her leather-bound book that was almost forgotten on the desk and soon was lost in thought again.
"Oh...My...God! Buffy, you'll never guess what happened!!!" Buffy looked up from her desk to see a red streak of hair bouncing to her desk. She quickly hid the book in the top drawer.
"Hey Will, what's up?" Willow held up her left hand and pointed to her ring finger to a gigantic diamond on a gold band.
"OZ ASKED ME TO MARRY HIM!!!!" she yelped. Willow and Oz were the computer and science teachers respectively at Sunnydale High. Everyone knew they were on the verge of engagement, just no one knew when Oz would pop the question. Buffy was elated that it had happened, and that *she* was essentially the first to hear about it.
"Oh my god Willow!!! This is amazing!!!" she got and flung her arms around her best friend. The two jumped and screamed for a while in joy until an almost stoic face appeared at the door.
"Is everything OK in here? I was beginning to wonder what had happened to my wife-to-be."
"OZ! I'm so happy for you!" Buffy ran over to him and gave him one of her overwhelming bear hugs that she had been getting good at. "When's the wedding?"
"Umm, Buffy, I don't think we've gotten that far. We've only been *engaged*" she stopped and marveled at that word, "for half an hour!!!"
The conversation slowly died down and Willow and Oz said their good-byes. Xander had come in and heard the good news, and left because of an after school meeting. Buffy was alone again. Then she packed up and went to the cafe to meet Nina.
And this was her life. Work, read Angel's poem book, went to meet a student -usually Nina, and then went home to her apartment on the outskirts of the rapidly expanding Sunnydale. On the weekends and sometimes during the week she would go to the Bronze, but mostly she just stayed at home. She felt somewhat out of place with her friends, the fifth wheel. Willow had Oz, and their sciency computery stuff. Xander had Anya and were quite serious; Xander was the principal and Anya was the main office secretary. Giles, well after a mid-life crisis about 6 years back he had left with his girlfriend, Olivia, to go back to England. That was the last time she'd heard from him. And Angel, she hadn't seen him since the time in LA where she'd only seen him for 10 minutes. She really didn't know what happened to him and his business, but she thought about him all the time. She knew that Cordelia had worked for him, then she got her big break in the Austin Powers III movie and was currently a major player in Hollywood. She had also changed her name to Delia. Buffy chuckled to herself about Spike. He still had the chip in his head and was globetrotting in search of a cure. Funny, she hadn't heard a lot of him in a while either. Oh well, for the better.
*****************
The next day word got around that the guidance counselor, Mrs. Hessler, was found dead in a street alley. The students and staff were surprised, but not entirely shocked. It was a well known fact that Sunnydale wasn't like other towns, and the former Scooby Gang drew their own conclusions.
Buffy went on patrol that night, only because Nina had to cancel their meeting and she had nothing else to do. She hadn't lost her touch.
*****************
The next day Buffy was at the cafe with Nina and they were quietly watching Entertainment Tonight on the TV.
"Tonight we have special news. Austin Powers III star Delia Chase has announced that she will be doing a TV series tentatively called 'The Chosen One' set as a mid-season replacement on the WB network. The storyline has not been released yet, but Chase has stated in an interview quote -I have drawn on my own experiences for this show and is dedicated to my friends who have helped me to understand the meaning of life, love, and true happiness- unquote. Next, Mission: Impossible-4 star Tom Cruise has officially divorced ex-wife Nicole Kidman..."
"I love Delia Chase! She is *such* a good actress! I can't wait until she makes her new TV series. She sounds like such a good person, and caring too!! I read her excerpts from her new autobiography and she sounds like she was so cool in high school. She even donated some money to the domestic abuse foundation. I wish I knew her...I would die!" said a star struck Nina
"Ha, Cordy? Good? Caring? And I can tell you if you met her you would be thoroughly surprised." lightly retorted Buffy.
"Hey, how did you know what her close friends call her?"
"What, Cordy? Let's just say we were acquaintances at one time."
"You actually know Delia Chase? Like if you called her right now she would know who she was speaking to?"
"Yeah, I don't think Cordelia Chase could ever forget us...me, no matter how long it's been. Heck, I blew up our whole...science experiment...in Chemistry. We were, um, lab partners. Yeah!" Buffy almost let out the secret of her being the one that obliterated the high school 10 years before.
"You went to the same school? Wow! That is so cool!!! So tell me, what was she like in High School? Who did she hang out with? Who did she date?" Nina was defiantly star struck.
"Well, let's see. Cordelia Chase was the most stuck up snobby girl in high school. She stayed that way the whole time, well, except for when she was going out with Xander Harris-" she was cut off.
"Xander Harris? As in Alexander Harris, as in Principal Alexander Harris?"
"That would be Xander...anyway, she hung out mainly with Aura -of AuraCosmetics Company- and Harmony...who died in the graduation day explosion, and a lot of other people who were very popular. Umm, then, she started to hang out with us when she and Xand- ahem, Mr. Harris were dating."
"Whose 'us'?"
"You know Ms. Rosenburg the Computer teacher? And Mr. Osbourne...Mr. Harris too. We were all friends. An odd bunch, but it all worked out. Also..." she paused. Should she tell about Angel? "she hit on my boyfriend at first...then she backed off. We were an odd bunch!!" she laughed, trying to mask her pain at the mention of Angel.
"That's so cool Buffy. I can't believe that you know Delia Chase, and that all you teachers used to hang around, and that you were in the graduating class of 1999. Wow."
"Yeah, well. Things surprise you sometimes."
"Hey, look at the time. It's getting dark out and...I told my mom, yeah, that I would be home to do my homework and... umm, go out with my friends at 8:00. So, I better be going..." Nina excused herself from the table and the pair went over to their bicycles.
"Yeah, you never should be out alone at night...lots of creepy people out there. I should get home too. See ya tomorrow in class." bid Buffy.
"Yeah, bye Buffy." With that, the two went their separate ways.
*******************
Nina sped towards her Watcher's house as fast as her rapidly increasing strength could carry her. Yes, Watcher. She still couldn't believe it.
One day she had been a normal 16 year old girl and the next day she was approached by a tall, dark, and handsome man who started to say his carefully rehearsed speech. "In every generation there is a girl, chosen to fight the forces of darkness..." In there he said it was her sacred birthright to kill demons. She hardly believed him, but, oh well.
He was nice, and he taught her to fight. Every evening at 8pm sharp they would meet in a cemetery and train. He taught her about this council of Watchers that ruled over all the Watchers and Slayers-to-be and made sure they were alright. He sounded like was a little young to be a Watcher, he looked only 27 or so, but she didn't care. He was nice, and he sure was hot so she trusted him.
He always said she reminded him of another Slayer; blonde hair, piercing hazel eyes, very petite. She tried to get him to talk about her, but he always refused.
He was quite strong. Most defiantly he was a living, breathing human, but with supernatural strength. She asked him about this too, but he always told her that he would tell her "later."
He saved her life once too. Once, she was out patrolling without him and she was attacked by a large pack. She was bitten, but wasn't badly injured. However, she was unconscious, so he had taken her inside his mansion.
It was the first time she had been actually on the inside. He said he had too many memories of the mansion, so they always trained outside. Anyway, he had saved her. His name? He finally told her and, quite fittingly, as he was -Angel.
********************
The next day at training, Angel did a very unusual thing. He brought Nina inside the mansion. He sat her down and started to talk.
"Today I got a message from the Council. They said that I needed to be more involved in your life. They said that they sent scouts and that meeting with you only for a few hours during the day to train wasn't enough."
"That's a rule? Weird. OK, continue." interrupted Nina
"Anyway, to get more involved in your life they said that, essentially, I would have to get a job at your school." he said this with much apprehension. He didn't want to be anywhere near the school. Even though it was re-built, it brought back too many old memories. (Authors Note: If you haven't figured it out yet, Angel is human with supernatural strength and he doesn't know that any of the Scoobies works at the school yet.)
"Oh. Hmm." she thought a little while, "Hey! Mrs. Hessler just *died*! I guess I shouldn't be happy about that, but still! You could take her job!" said Nina in revelation.
"OK. What did she, you know, teach?" Angel questioned hesitantly.
"Oh, nothing. She was the guidance counselor. You know, you'd be very good at it, you listen to other people's problems very well." Nina said. He reminded her of Buffy. Very good at listening and figuring out problems. Come to think of it, they also would make a good couple. Anyway...
"Uhh, thanks, I think. Good, now that that's figured out, I have to introduce you to a new weapon. The crossbow..."
******************
She wanted him. She needed him. She couldn't go on without him. Yet, he had walked away and never came back. She didn't know if she could keep on living. Her dream was for him to walk through the door any moment and kiss her passionately, perhaps even riding off in the sunset. But she knew that was impossible. It was the Forbidden Love of all time and she was stuck right in the thick of it. She sighed, the bell rung, and she packed up.
Another day at work was done.
******************
Angel stepped into the school building very nervous. Nina had given him detailed instructions to the main office. That day was the interviewing day for the guidance counselor job and there wasn't another person in the office that looked like they were going to an interview. Of course, he was all dressed up in a three piece suit and a briefcase, hair as spiky as usual. 'Hey, first impressions are crucial' he thought.
He was meeting with the principal and hadn't the slightest to do. He always had money because he'd killed more than one millionaire back in his evil days, and when he was in LA, he was working for himself. When he joined the Council, he was picked, not interviewed, and was made a Watcher. His first interview, and he was scared out of his wits.
"Hey, you!" that was a familiar voice. He looked up.
"Nina, aren't you supposed to be in class?"
"I have a free right now. Have you gone in for the interview yet?"
"No...are you sure this is the right day? There isn't anyone here, it looks like, but me. And there were posters plastered all over town."
"Ohh, well, I guess no one had the qualities except for you." she secretly giggled. The previous few nights she had been tearing down all the advertising posters. Angel needed this job to stay as her Watcher, and she was determined to keep him.
"Alright kitten, who do we have here to interview for the guidance counselor job?" mock-roared Principal Harris to his secretary (Anya). He had appeared from his door.
"Over there Xand. Sitting with Nina Wendell. He's the only one. I don't know his name." she replied. At this, Angel looked up and introduced himself.
"Ang-...Xander?" he said in disbelief.
"Deadboy? Ahem...umm, *boy* has it been a long time." He caught himself.
As much as he wanted to, he didn't let Angel's identity slip.
"Wait, you two know each other?" Nina asked.
"A friend of a friend." supplied Xander.
"Yeah. Xand- I mean Mr. Harris, can I talk to you please? In private?" asked Angel.
"Yeah, let's get this interview going. Even though you are the only one...step into my office." stated Xander.
Once in the office and the door was shut Xander spoke a revelation.
"Wait, my office...th-the curtains...it's 9 am...why you not crispy toast?" Xander finally got it out.
"It's a long story." Xander looked at him expectantly, so he continued, "I'm human. But with supernatural fighting power. The Council gave me my humanity for work as a Watcher. I agreed. Nina Wendell is the Slayer." he stammered.
It took Xander a while to sink in what he had been told. Angel human? Angel a Watcher? Nina the Slayer? Did Buffy know? He asked the last question a loud.
"Buffy? I haven't seen her since...since the Ascension." he looked down in shame.
"Well, well, well. Deadboy is not so dead and now has a Slayer *and* a job at the school. Congrads Angel. Welcome to the team." Xander smiled a happy smile. he felt like being nice to the poor guy for a change and, he couldn't wait to see Angel's reaction to Buffy working there too. Would they be able to stand each other? Maybe. Would it be fun watching? Of course. He would tell each of them of the other in turn, but now, he had to file some papers for the new school employee.
**************
"Would Ms. Rosenburg and Mr. Osborne please report to the principal's office? Ms. Rosenburg and Mr. Osborne to the principal's office." the PA system blared. Xander was a man with a plan. First, he had to alert his other friends of the newest member of the *living* club. Without Buffy finding out.
When Willow and Oz got to the office, they were amazed. There was Angel, sitting in the sunlight, in a 3-piece suit, filling out faculty forms.
"Fellow Scoobies, I have assembled us together to inform you of the newest member of our staff of Sunnydale high school. Angel." announced Xander.
"H-how...did...you...sun...you're still here...no crispies?" Willow and Oz were finishing each other's half-sentences. Willow went over and laid her hand on the left side of Angel's chest.
"You're alive...you're human. How...how..." All of a sudden, Willow flung her arms around Angel.
"I'm so happy for you!!!" she sobbed. Happy tears, of course.
"Thanks Willow." Angel smiled sheepishly.
"Congrads man." Oz said in his usual stoic manner. Angel nodded appreciatively.
"OK. Here's the deal. Angel is now working at the school, as the guidance counselor. So we should go *introduce* him to the rest of the *staff*. But. Not now. Tomorrow. During mid-morning break. OOkkaayy?" Xander wanted Willow and Oz to know that he didn't want Buffy to see Angel yet. That would come in time.
"Great"
"Wonderful"
"Peachy"
Xander was glad they understood. The bell signaling the end of the day rang.
"Angel, why don't we take you out to dinner tonight. Catch up on old times?" offered Willow. She gave a secret glance towards Xander to let him know that they would keep him from seeing Buffy at all.
"That'd be great."
And so they left.
*****************
The S was a place in the Sunnydale halls where one hall split off into 2 halls and a giant S (for Sunnydale) had been salvaged from the old school and was hung up on the wall. Many students lounged there during their mid-morning break and free periods. Xander knew that Buffy always spent mid-morning break at the S. The perfect place for the perfect reunion.
*****************
The morning of the "perfect reunion" Nina Wendell was called to the principal's office before classes started.
"Nina, glad of you to come. Take a seat." Mr. Harris said. She had no idea of what the meeting was for, so she sat.
He continued. "So, the Slayer is going to *my* high school? That's cool."
Nina's eyes bulged. "You know I'm the Slayer?!?! HOW?!?!" By this time she was pacing around the room. "You aren't a demon are you?"
"Oh no, no. Of course not. I just know a former Slayer. In fact, so do you." Mr. Harris replied cryptically.
"I do?" she eyed him suspiciously.
"Yeah, you have 9th period with her." Nina looked confused, "Your teacher, Buffy. Bu-ffy. Yeay tall, blonde..."
"Yeah, yeah, I get it. She was a Slayer? I can't believe it..." Nina really couldn't believe it.
"Yeah, she'll have to fill you in on the details, but yeah. You could learn something from her I believe. Much more than you ever could learn from Angel."
"Wait, you know Angel is my Watcher?"
"Of course. Deadboy told me all of it, how he became one, all that."
"Why do you call him deadboy? He's human...or at least...that's what he told me..."
Mr. Harris realized that they hadn't gotten that far in their discussions to tell her that he had been a vampire.
"Oh, well, yeah, it's complicated. Look, I need to tell you something about Buffy and Angel that even they don't know. I need your help."
"Sure." The two people she felt closest to needed help. Would she help? Was that even a question?
"OK. Bear with me. When Buffy was a Slayer, sheand Angel used to date. They were pretty serious. Something...happened in their relationship which made Angel have to leave. It left Buffy scarred and she hasn't been the same since. She wants, more than anything, to be with Angel, but she couldn't. Now, he came back and she has that chance. Things are different and she and him can be...*happy*. Still with me?"
Nina nodded.
"Today at mid-morning break Ms. Rosenburg, Mr. Osborne, myself, and Angel will go to the S. There, Buffy should be talking and chatting as usual.
She is oblivious to anything we have been planning. Your job is to make sure that she's at the S and that she doesn't suspect *anything*. Also, don't tell her about you being a Slayer. One surprise a day is enough. Got it?"
"Got it!!" She was smiling furiously. She kept thinking 'this is going to be so *sweet*!!!' She would be right.
******************
Brrrrrrrrriiiiinnnnngggg. The bell. It was now mid-morning break. Nina made her way to room 214 in order to catch Buffy on her way to the S. Her heart was thumping a million miles a minute.
"Buffy, hey!" she greeted.
"Hi Nina, what's up?"
"Not much." she sighed, putting on her best sad face. She was, definitely, an actress at heart.
"That doesn't sound like there's nothing going on. What's up?" They now were at the S and Buffy pulled an apple out of the messenger bag around her neck. She took a bit out of it and sat down against the wall. Nina did the same.
"Oh, it's terrible...terrible..." she fake sobbed. She hoped they would show up soon; she didn't know how long she could keep up the charade.
"What's terrible? Tell me Nina!"
"But now...now it's better. All better..." she tried not to laugh.
"Huh? What's better? Why was it terrible? Nina, I can't help you if you don't tell me what's the what!" Buffy was terribly confused. Nina was loving every minute of it. Then, she saw Angel, Ms. Rosenburg, Mr. Osbourne, and Mr. Harris. Of course, Mr. Harris was making a fool of himself pointing grandly to everyone and everything, making a big scene.
Buffy didn't notice him, firstly because her back was to him, and secondly, because she was wrapped up into Nina's "problem." Now was the perfect time for the perfect reunion.
"It's...it's...that!" with that she pointed at Angel.
"What?" she turned around. All of a sudden the S got very quiet. Her eyes locked with his. There wasn't a soul in the room but those two. Buffy feltherself rise from the floor. Students started whispering. Why was their favorite teacher staring at the new guidance counselor? They knew he was good looking, but still. And why was he looking at her with a glint of tear in his eyes.
"An...Angel? Is it really you?" Buffy stammered.
"Buffy...Buffy?" Angel asked hesitantly. All of a sudden, Buffy felt her legs carrying her to him. She leapt into his arms and wrapped her legs around his waist.
"Oh Angel, I-" she was cut off. Angel was kissing her furiously. The audience applauded. The two young lovers didn't hear any of it. When they finally broke apart, each gasping for breath, Buffy spoke.
"I...I missed you...so much." They kissed again.
"I missed you too...God I missed you." yet another kiss. The crowd had gone back to their business, each having better faith in the meaning of love.
Nina had come to join the group, smiling all the way.
"Is this the way it always was?" asked Nina to Willow.
"The whole way pretty much." Willow smiled.
"Angel, I don't care about the curse, we'll figure something out...I can't live without you!" confessed Buffy.
"Buffy...I don't...uhh, can we go somewhere to talk?" asked Angel with a twinkle in his eye. He let her down off his hips.
"Uhh, sure...wait, the bell is about to ring for mid-morning break to be over. I have to teach a class-" she was cut off by Xander.
"Buff, it's taken care of. I'll teach it. I didn't live on the Hellmouth and learn nothing!"
Buffy looked at him incredulously. "Thank you so much Xander! Could I use your office?"
"Sure, *but* it's kind of *sunny* in there, so watch out." he directed his comment towards Angel. Angel smiled.
"Thanks!" With that, she took Angel's hand and started dragging him toward the Main Office.
"Thanks Xander." Angel said. His words held deeper meaning.
"Good couple. Anyone here up for some class?" Oz asked as stoically as ever.
"Not a bad idea. Nina, thanks for the help." said Xander. The three started to walk down the hall
"Sure. I just one question for you all though. Now that *that* is all sorted out, when do you think that Buffy will tell me about being the Slayer?"
Willow and Oz turned around in complete surprise and shock.
*****************
Once in the main office Buffy told Angel to wait outside for a moment. She shut the curtains and invited him in.
"So, what's the what?"
"You mean you haven't figured it out yet?" Angel walked over to the curtain and yanked it open. Sunlight poured into the room.
"Angel! NOOOOOOO!!" she ran over to him. But he wasn't burning. Buffy looked at him strangely.
"I...I thought you destroyed the Gem of Amarra...Oz said-" Angel put a hand over her mouth to quiet her. With his other hand he took one of hers and put it over the left side of his chest. Even through the cloth, her Slayer senses picked up on a distinct thump...thump...thump. Her mouth dropped open.
"Alive. Buffy, I'm alive." he whispered. She launched herself into his arms and kissed him.
"No curse?" she asked hopefully.
"None."
****************
"Elbow up a little, use your senses, behind you, BEHIND YOU!! (Poof) Right in the heart. Good job Nina."
"Geez, that was a big one. Dusty too. Oh well...would you two like to go get a room?" Nina said shaking her head. Angel and Buffy had been together nonstop for the 2 weeks since their reunion. They were now on patrol that consisted more of Buffy and Angel's smootchies than actual slaying, but she would take it any day over the uncomfortable meetings with him before Buffy.
He was very distant then, and now he and Buffy had told her everything, meaning *everything.* Now they were all very good friends and she had introduced them to all of her good friends. They helped Lisa and John through the confusing time when they just found out that Nina was the Slayer.
The pair had resumed their make out session when another vampire came up behind Nina. She used her Slayer sense to attack at just the right time.
"Bloody hell Slayer! What, are ya tryin to kill me?!?! Blondie over there will tell ya that I can't hurt anything. But the Poof over there might rip my head off..."drawled a certain bleach blonde vampire. Buffy, breaking her lip-locked embrace with Angel, spoke.
"Now, that annoying British accent could only be one impotent vampire, sired by Angelus, claimed to have killed 2 slayers, and have been foiled by the Scooby Gang countless times could only be Spike. What brings you here?" taunted Buffy.
"Blondie, I'm back and I'm a bloody animal!!!"
"The being BACK part is right, but you still have yet to be the 'bloody animal' that you promised. Now, where were we Angel?" said Buffy.
"Fine. You watch your back Slayers, because I'm back and I don't want to be dust. Oh and sire? I'm a better kisser, Slayer told me herself." he smiled evilly and sauntered away.
"Huh?" cried Nina and Angel in unison.
"Uhh, one of Willow's spells, long story!!" replied Buffy hotly.
"Anyway, I think that it's late enough and time to stop. Nina, you OK getting home or need a couple of escorts?" asked Angel.
"Yeah, and watch you two for at least another 10 minutes? No thank you. Plus, I have that whole supernatural gig working for me. I'll be OK. See you tomorrow in school?" Nina lightly retorted.
"Yep." they replied in unison. They were making eyes at each other, so they barely even heard her. She chuckled and walked away into the night. Buffy and Angel headed towards Buffy's apartment, but then Angel stopped her.
Out of the blue he asked "Buffy, will you move in with me?"
Buffy's eyes bulged. "Yes, yes, yes, yes, YES, YES!!!" she cried. With that, they walked/floated back to Angel's mansion.
**************
It had been 6 months after the perfect reunion and Buffy and Angel were still as crazy about each other as ever. Willow and Oz had gotten married two weeks before and had just flew back from their honeymoon. Xander, was still Xander and him and Anya were *still* dating. Angel suddenly appeared to Xander in his office.
"Xander, I need your help." he stated.
"Uhh, OK. Just as long as it doesn't involve me getting hurt in anyway, I'm in." replied Xander.
"Great." Angel smiled. The two had become quite good friends the last few months and were fine with helping each other out.
He continued, "Anya said that I could only make an announcement if I asked you first. I was wondering if ninth period I could ask Buffy something over the loudspeaker?"
Xander smiled. He knew exactly what Angel had in mind. "Of course. You want to today?" Angel drew in a nervous breath.
"...Yeah."
"Good luck. And I won't tell Buffy anything." assured Xander.
"OK...thanks Xander. You...just...thank you so much!" with that he almost skipped out of the office.
"Geez, those two..." the principal muttered.

"Guys, this concludes our unit on European demons. Alright, does anyone have any questions? We have about 15 minutes left." concluded Buffy. It was the last class of the day and all she wanted to do was curl up with Angel and take a nap. 'Fifteen minutes' she kept telling herself.
"Buffy, could you go over that whole 'Scourge of Europe' thing again? I didn't quite understand it." called a student.
"Sure. The 'Scourge of Europe' was a vampire by the name of Angelus who-" she was cut off by the loudspeaker.
"Ahem...there is just one announcement." she knew that voice. Angel. 'What did he have to say?'
"Alright guys, let's listen to what Mr. Giles has to say." Buffy quieted her class. Angel had taken Giles' last name for the kids to call him. She sort of turned her attention away from what her was saying. She thought 'I probably already know what he's going to say. Better start to pack up to go home...'
"This is directed towards a certain Buffy Summers who has made my life truly happy." Buffy froze. 'Her? What did he have to say?'
"Buffy, you are my life, my everything. You have made my life the best in these past few months than anyone has in my entire time on this earth. When I saw you at the S that morning 6 months ago I couldn't believe it. My life was made whole again. So...I just had to tell you that. Oh, also, I have this twelve-carat diamond ring, and I was wondering if you'd marry me?"
Buffy couldn't believe it. The students started applauding in every classroom. Willow had tears streaming down her face, and Oz actually cracked a grin. Nina, was, at first dumbstruck, but then started clapping and jumped up to hug Buffy.
Buffy felt small arms embracing her, but she just stood there. The door to room 214 swung open and revealed an Angel sauntering in. He went over to Buffy's desk where she stood and Nina went back to her seat. Angel took Buffy in his strong arms, leaned her back into a grand dip and passionately kissed the former Slayer.
The students whooped and started cat calling, but the two didn't notice. When they finally let up for air, Angel took a little black box out of his pocket and opened it up to reveal a diamond ring.
"So will you?"
"I thought you'd never ask" Buffy's eyes glittered, pulling him into another kiss.
