Feedback: Does Angel wear leather? And look oh-so droolworthy? I am
prepared to beg . . .
"Daddy, everything is going to be fine," Peyton scolded as Angel checked up on her again.
"But . . . ," he began.
"Angel . . . ," his wife warned. He glared at Buffy playfully as she shooed him out the door. Buffy turned around to face her oldest child. The white tulle of the wedding dress swam around her and the simple white bodice accented her figure. She was almost a copy of her mother except for the soft brown hair that fell around her face in loose waves.
"My baby," Buffy cried as she attached the veil to her daughter's head, "Okay, your father's right. You can't get married. We're gonna have to take you away." Peyton glared at her mother.
"Mom!"
"Don't you want to travel the world with us?" Buffy asked.
"With you and Daddy?" she laughed, "No!"
"Well, who's gonna watch your brother when we go out? And the new baby? And who's gonna . . . ," Buffy trailed off, looking at her daughter with tears in her eyes.
"Mom, you're not due for three months and Brennan is fifteen years old!" Peyton exclaimed.
"I know. I'm just making excuses," Buffy said, smiling through her tears. Peyton moved to hug her mother.
"It'll be okay, Mom! Just imagine how Grandma and Grandpa felt when you married a *vampire,*" she whispered. Buffy laughed at her words, remembering her own wedding to Angel.
Seventeen years earlier, 2006
"Mommy! You looks so pretty and look at my dress! It's swirly when I turn," Buffy's five year old daughter squealed as she spun around and around in her dress.
"Peyton, honey, be careful!" Buffy warned, afraid that she would either trip on the dress and rip it or throw up on it. The little girl stopped twirling, out of breath.
"Okay, Mommy."
"Thank-you," Buffy replied, motioning her daughter to come to her. She sat down on the stool in front of the mirror where Cordelia was finishing the last touches of her hair and make-up and picked Peyton up.
"Mommy? Are you gonna stay forever with me and Daddy?" she asked softly. Buffy was surprised.
"Yes, baby. Where would Mommy go?"
"Well, you just barely came and I don't want you to go away," the little girl answered.
"Oh, honey, I'm never gonna leave you again. I'll be with you forever," Buffy replied kissing her forehead gently.
"Okay," Peyton answered happily before hopping down. "Can I go find Daddy?"

"Angel, man, you gotta calm down!" Xander instructed, "you're worse than the groom!" Angel glared at his old friend and then over to the man who was taking his daughter away from him.
"I knew I should have never agreed to this, I mean, she's too young to get married," Angel said while pacing.
"Deadboy, she's older than Buffy was when she had Peyton," Xander stated, playfully using the old nickname.
"He has a point," Jordan, the groom, replied. Angel glared at him again and for a split second, Xander thought he heard him growl. Finally, the former vampire sat down.
"I know," he replied, running his fingers through his hair, "it's just that, she's Peyton, my little girl. I don't know how to let her go."
"Angel," Jordan said as Angel looked up at him, "I love her. And I know you understand that. You love Buffy the same way. Don't you remember the day when Buffy was yours? Don't you remember how nervous you were without the future father-in-law pacing very close to you? Don't you remember how upset her father was that his only daughter was getting married? To a vampire no less?"
Angel remembered with perfect clarity.

"Angel, man, you gotta calm down!" Xander instructed the pacing vampire.
"What if she changes her mind? What if her father decides that it doesn't matter what we want and takes Buffy away and I never see her again? What if . . . ," Angel rambled.
"Angel! Buffy is not going to change her mind! I have never seen her this happy. She loves you, she loves Peyton. And how would her father take her away? She's the slayer, it'll be physically impossible to pry her away!" Xander practically yelled.
"As odd as it may be, Xander is right," Wesley, the best man, stated.
"Hey! I resent that!" Xander cried, "or wait, he said I was right, so no, I don't resent that." Everyone else rolled their eyes.
"Angel, I have known Buffy for a long time and I have never seen her this happy either. She loves you. She always did and I don't think that anything in this world or any other will ever change that," Giles said quietly. Angel sighed.
"Daddy, Daddy!" Peyton's little voice shrieked as she came into the room.
"What is it, honey?" Angel asked, immediately thinking something was wrong.
"Mommy looks so pretty! And so does Aunt Cordy and Aunt Willow and Grandma Joyce. And look at me! My dress is all swirly!" she answered, again turning around and around so all could see her 'swirly' dress.
"You look perfect, sweetie," Angel said as he kissed his daughter's forehead, "Perfect."

The wedding started and Pacabel's Canon in D began playing. The bridesmaids and groomsmen made their way down the aisle. Buffy was escorted by Brennan before Peyton and Angel.
"How do I look, Daddy?" Peyton whispered to her father before they began.
"You look perfect," he answered, choking on his tears, "Perfect."
She kissed his cheek and smiled at him. "Thank-you, Daddy," she whispered, "I love you."
"I love you, too," he replied quietly, "I think that's our cue."
They moved slowly down the aisle, Peyton clutching the bouquet of white lilies in her hand and gazing steadily at her future husband. Angel managed to walk her to the altar without falling to pieces and gave her away. He sat back down with Buffy and took her hand in his. He looked at Buffy, tears threatening to spill down both their cheeks, and smiled a bittersweet smile. Their little girl was not so little anymore.

Buffy and Angel were married two months after they had been reunited by their daughter. A small garden ceremony held just after the sun dipped beneath the horizon with their family and friends. Only two vampires showed up, the groom and Spike. Two years to the day, as they celebrated their second anniversary Angel was granted his humanity. Peyton was seven and Buffy immediately became pregnant with their son, Brennan. Their years passed as a family and one night fifteen years later, Peyton came home with news.
"Daddy, Mom, Jordan and I are getting married!" she squealed clutching her fiancé's hand as he near cowered in fear.
"Excuse me?" Angel asked. Buffy looked at him, mentally pleading with him to be calm.
"We're getting married, Daddy. I love him," she answered softly, trying to convey her heart to him with mere words. She looked at him, eyes wide, knowing that he never could deny her mother's eyes. Angel sighed in defeat and looked at the boy.
"You'd better take care of her," he stated.
"I will, sir," the boy, Jordan answered. Angel nodded and Buffy laughed.
"Well, that was George Banks moment for all of us, wasn't it?" as she kissed her daughter and future son-in-law, congratulating them.
That night, Buffy became pregnant with their third child.
"You're what?" Angel asked, shocked.
"Pregnant," Buffy answered simply.
"How?" he asked again.
"Do I really need to explain that to you, honey?" Buffy teased.
"No," he muttered, "It's just that, after all these years. Fifteen years between Brennan and this child. Why now?"
"We always said that if it happened again, then we'd love that child as much as we love Peyton and Brennan. I don't think it matters 'why now' honey. I think that we just love it," Buff answered softly, "Do you not . . . ?"
"No! Buffy, I'm happy. Having children with you, I never used to fathom the possibility and now, we have Peyton and Brennan and now, this baby. I'm happy, I'm just a little shocked," Angel replied, moving to her and taking her in his arms, "But this time we have to agree on a name."
"You got to name Peyton, it was only fair that I got to name Brennan," she said.
"I know," he replied, kissing her gently as his hands traveled to her stomach where their child was now growing.

Couples danced and swayed to the music. Buffy and Angel sat and watched as their daughter danced with her husband, smiling and laughing with him. Their foreheads would meet every once in a while and then their lips would brush and they'd continue dancing.
"How do you feel?" Angel asked tenderly.
"Tired. You?" she answered.
"I'm okay," he replied.
"I'd beg for a foot massage, but I don't think the guests would approve," she giggled.
"Probably not, but I promise you one when we get home," he smiled. He leaned towards her, placing a gentle kiss on her lips. As he pulled away, she cupped his face.
"Where do you think you're going?" she murmured.
"Nowhere," he answered, kissing her deeply.
"Daddy? Mom?" Peyton's voice interrupted them. They broke apart, blushing slightly and looked up on the stage where Peyton was standing. "I know this is supposed to be my day and you're going to be horribly embarrassed, but I, we, wanted to do this anyway. I love you both. So much. I remember so many sad nights when I was a little girl, when you thought I was asleep, Daddy and I'd sneak into the office where you'd be up, being the 'night' person that you were and you'd be looking at a picture or leaning back in your chair, a hesitant smile on your face as you imagined. Little did I know then what you were imagining. Thank you for never giving up on each other, for never forgetting, for fighting for the one thing in this world that I always knew I could believe in. The love that my parents always had. Because of you, I knew that it was real. Thank you for living the lives you did and for giving me the home you did. Thank you, so much. I love you." Tears were streaming down nearly every guest's face. Even Spike offered a sniffle at the speech his 'niece' made. The crowd raised their glasses and toasted Buffy and Angel.
"Here, here," they cheered.
"And now, mom and dad, this is our gift to you tonight. From Brennan and me. We love you. Hit it, Bren," Peyton said.
sittin' on the beach'
the island king of love
deep in fijian seas
deep in some blissful dream
where the goddess finally sleeps
in the lap of her lover
subdued in all her rage
and I am aglow with the taste of demons driven out
and happily replaced by the presence of real love
I wanna dance with you
I wanna see a world where people live and die with grace
the karmic ocean dried up and leave no trace
I wanna dance with you
I see a sky full of the stars that change our minds
and lead us back to a world we would not face
Angel stood, offering his hand to Buffy. Their song was playing. Exactly how it played the night of their own wedding. She took his hand and stood up, following him to the dance floor and everyone's eyes followed them.
the stillness in your eyes
convinces me that I
I don't know a thing
and I been around the world and I've tasted all the wines
a half a billion times came sickened to your shores
you show me what this life is for
I wanna dance with you
I wanna see a world where people live and die with grace
the karmic ocean dried up and leave no trace
I wanna dance with you
I see a sky full of the stars that change our minds
and lead us back to a world we would not face
"I love you," Buffy murmured as Angel kissed her hair.
"Forever, that's the whole point," he whispered, "You still my girl?" She looked up at him, tears in her eyes and smiled.
"Always."
in this altered state
full of so much pain and rage
you know we've got to find a way to let it go
sittin' on the beach
the island king of love
deep in fijian seas
deep in the heart of it all where the goddess finally sleeps
after eons of war and lifetimes
she smilin' and free, nothin' left
but a crackin' voice and a song, oh lord
I wanna dance with you
i see a world where people live and die with grace
the karmic ocean dried up and leave no trace
I wanna dance with you
I see a sky full of the stars that change our minds
and lead us back to a world we would not face
we would not face
we would not face
we would not face
we would not face
we would not face
Peyton watched as her parents moved slowly on the dance floor, their bodies fitting to the other's perfectly. Words were offered and smiles answered and Peyton knew that no matter what true love would always exist even if it was only through the two lovers on the dance floor.
"I love you," Jordan murmured in her ear.
"Forever," she answered, "Forever." Just like her parents.
Okey-dokey, what did you think?
