Author’s Notes: I was going to write this in narrative form, but didn’t.
This is kinda how I would like it all to end. This is sort of dumb, but ah
well.

At first it seemed so unbelievable.
Almost to good to be true.
Finally, after years of waiting and hoping.
Humanity was at last granted to an angel.
His friend’s eyes filled with wonder.
When he stepped out into the sun.
After 250 years, he tasted food.
Not counting the day that wasn’t.

Rediscovering the joys of life.
With the help of his adopted family.
All seemed right in the world of Angel Investigations.
But as all things aren’t as they seem.
Neither was this.
Of course the angel’s dreams had all come true.
Save for one, the one he wanted most.
To be with the one he loved above all else.

Weeks passed and it still remained a dream.
Until the day when she walked through the door.
How she found out is a mystery.
But the angel doesn’t care.
She’s here, that’s all that really matters.
Her eyes filled with tears.
Of happiness and joy.
For sorrow would never touch these two again.

In the privacy of his office.
They talked for hours upon hours.
The angel's friends placing bets.
On how long till their romance renewed.
For none deserved to be together.
More than these two star-crossed lovers.
When finally they exited the office.
It was obvious to all those present.

Farewells are never easy.
After close to six years.
It's hard to say goodbye.
But the angel and his gloden haired love.
Had a life of their own to start, far away.
To be together, their final dream came true.
Their lifetime of happiness could finally begin.

The angel took her hand.
Together they walked up the stairs.
Silently saying their last goodbyes.
Hand in hand stepping out into the day.
The sunlight shining down upon them.
Vows of forever and always hung in the air.
It truly was the perfect ending.
To a not so perfect beginning.
