Synopses: Missing scene from "Helpless." Takes place
after she kills Krailik (sp?) but before
she goes and talks with Giles and the watcher council
guy.
Spoilers: Gee, "Helpless?" lol. I don't think
anything other then that.
Rating: PG
Distribution: BAFluff, RKHU, to people who I've given
permission to for my other stories.
Anyone else, just ask, I'll 99% say yes.
Disclaimer: The characters Buffy and Angel and all the
rest of them aren't mine and you know
it.
Authors notes: I just got all my season three tapes
last week and I watched them. That means
that I finally saw "The Wish," and "Amends" and a few
more that I hadn't seen. Point being that
even the ones I had seen, I haven't seen them in two
years and I wasn't too into it then. This is
the first of two missing scenes that I wanted to
write.
Authors notes 2: Ok so I can't figure out the author
notes thing. Give me a break, I'm
REALLY tired. This note is for the people who are
reading either "Safe Haven," or "Rivalries."
First off, thanks so much for the feedback on those
two. I know that I left some cliffhangers,
especially for the latter and I'm sorry. I don't have
writes block, just no time. I will try SO hard
to get the next parts of those out on Sunday, but I'm
not sure. I'm sorry!

She was more then ready to get her powers back. She wasn't just a regular girl, she was weaker then a regular girl. She was, bluntly, a wimp.
And she had been lied to by someone who she had truster her life with, attacked by a psycho vamp with out any of her strength, almost lost her mother, and on top of that her dad had ditched her on her birthday. Also not to mention that she was having a crappy hair day. To say that she'd had a shitty couple of days was an understatement.
After her and her mom had gotten home, safely, they had tried to relax. Buffy had to do the whole explaining thing which didn't help her mood at all. After that long, frustrating process, the two of them had kicked back and watched some movies. Joyce had fallen asleep almost as soon as they had begun. But not Buffy. As tired as she was, she couldn't sleep.
Presently, she was walking very cautiously to the mansion. She was of course loaded with crosses, holy water, garlic, all that good stuff. It wouldn't be happy at all if she had passed the "test" and then die from a regular fledgling.
Angel looked up from his book as she walked in. He frowned as he instantly noticed not only her poise, but the various cuts and bruises which were scattered about her body. He started over towards her but flinched when he felt the power of god working against him.
"Oh, sorry." Buffy rapidly removed the crosses and other amenities that would be harmful to her lover.
"What happened?" He cursed himself for not staying with her. He should have known that some vampire would take advantage of her. Even if they hadn't known that she was a weak slayer, they would still prey on a young pretty girl like her.
"What happened? Lots of things happened, which are you referring to?" Her first words had come out harsh but by the time she ended, her voice was barely a whisper. She felt his hand grasp hers and pull her in. She didn't put up a defense. 'Not like I could,' she thought bitterly.
Before she knew it, Angel's arms were around her and she was crying into his shoulder. They weren't heart wrenching sobs, just tears. Tears of frustration, betrayal, fear, and love. He was always here for her, no matter what. Her angel.
He led her over to the couch and merely held her until she calmed, stroking her hair and back, whispering soothing words. Once her composer was, for the most part, gained, she told him about her dad, about the test, about Krailik, about everything.
"I'm so stupid. I should have known that there was something wrong with this. Giles was acting way too un-concerned."
"Don't say that."
"What?" Buffy knew that Angel felt bad when it came to Giles, but she didn't think that he'd be on board with this test idea.
"Don't say that you're stupid. You're not. Buffy, you were put into an incredibly difficult situation, alone, and you defeated it. You defeat these situations all the time, not just tonight. In school, with the hellmouth, with your mom, with me. Buffy, you are the most amazing and intelligent person I've ever known."
Her eyes watered again at his words. She knew they were spoken from the heart. He loved her so much, she didn't understand it. He made her out to be a perfect goddess, but she wasn't. She smiled softly before wrapping her arms around him once more and just taking solace in his embrace. He tightened his own arms around her sides when she let out a small yelp. Angel immediately released his hold and pulled away.
He lifted up the bottom of her shirt so he could see what was hurting her. There was a large bruise across her lower back. He winced as he ran his hands gently over it. He then set about examining her other wounds closer then he had the first time. His hand stayed rested on her cheek as he checked the bruise on the side of her face, to the cut on her forehead, to looking into her eyes.
His concern for her gave her a bit of comfort. It felt nice to have someone who cared that much. Loved her the way he did.
"It's okay, the healing will come back with the strength which should be in a day or two....I hope." If she was trying to reassure him or herself, she didn't know.
"It will, the drug that they used should wear off in about two days."
"It better." Buffy raised tired arms and started to kneed at her sore shoulders. She felt Angel shift and her hands were quickly replaced with his own. She closed her eyes and just relished in the felling of his strong, gentle hands massaging her worn muscles. After a couple of minutes, she leaned back and scooted up against his chest. She placed her arms over his which had slipped around her waist. Buffy just burrowed her head into his shoulder and slowly drifted off to sleep, knowing that she would always be safe here.
A.N. Okay, that part about Buffy being all smart and competent? Well, just remember that this takes place in season THREE. Not four, *g* also, egh! When I was thinking about this it was sounding a lot better then it turned out. I'm blaming my lack of good writing on me being tired and tired and tired:) And now that I've cleared that up, I'm off to bed. Luvs~mm p>Send feedback to MM
