Maybe math...whatever lol. But warning,
no fun indeed, sad sad.
He lifted her hand and kissed it lovingly. So many years they'd spent apart, and still yet, he loved her. More than anything, he loved her. Tears streamed down his face. He had tried to stay strong, tried to keep his composure, for the sake of her friends, and her family. But when he saw her...he lost it, he just broke down. The cry that came from him was enough to cut into everyone who was standing nearby. The utter pain in his voice brought tears to the eyes of strangers.
They had all left him now. He was alone with his love. Watching the respirator force her chest to rise and fall. Cuts and bruises covered every inch of her body. Her pretty face was mauled horribly; but he could still see her. This was the woman that he loved. The only person who he always had and always would love.
His head dropped beside her and he sobbed into the sheets. Why her? Why did she have to go through all of this? He cursed the fates for doing this to her. She makes it through all the battles they throw at her but she gets hurt by a modern plane crash. No demons, no darkness, a plane crash in broad daylight.
Very few people had been injured, it had been a minor crash. Yet here she was, hurt and dying. She'd been brave and tried to help everyone else as the plane went down, taken her seat belt off to help a woman with her child. He hated her for being so unselfish. And he hated the woman who had cried for help.
He didn't care that he was being cold, he wanted his lover back.
But more than anything, he hated himself. She was coming to see him, to be with him. Previous problems had been overcome, they were finally getting their chance. But now it had been taken away, yet again.
He wished that he hadn't called her, that they weren't going to get back together. Anything, even if it meant she loved another, and hated him. Anything but this. Lying in a hospital bed with no hope.
The doctors had explained that there was no chance. Only the machines were keeping her alive. They were going to pull the plug, but they all waited for him to come. For him to say his goodbye.
So unfair. That they two of them had gone through so much, had waited for so long, and when they finally got their freedom, their chance at the love they both cherished, it was brutally killed.
He stood up and leaned over the bed, placing a kiss on her lips. He moved his cheek to hers and let it linger. His eyes squeezing tightly shut to try and somehow diminish the pain. He kissed her once more and walked out of the room. He had said his last goodbye.
