She silently watched out the window. Sometimes you make mistakes so big that you can't help but regret them in a black thoughtful mood. She hated the stupid way she was always so afraid to feel. So afraid to admit that she needed help. She needed his help.

Please come now I think I'm falling
I'm holding on to all I think is safe
It seems I found the road to nowhere
And I'm trying to escape

She stared out into the black emptiness and instantly regretted her decision. He was the love of her so called life. She should have jumped to the chance to love him. To be with him. She bit her nail. She heard a tender knock on the door. Please help it be him. She could feel a tingle in her insides , and in an instant she knew that it was him. The him that she always wanted.

I yelled back when I heard thunder
But I'm down to one last breath
And with it let me say
Let me say
Hold me now

Buffy opened the door, and she stared at his face. He looked pinker. Brighter. More alive. She stumbled backwards. He smiled at her, and his teeth shone like the stars. "It's happened Buffy." She touched her cheek in disbelief. He was alive. Her Angel. Alive.

I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
That maybe six feet
Ain't so far down

"I'm alive." He said confirming her thoughts. She touched his chest and felt the faint beating of a real live human heart. She smiled to herself. She had dreamt about this day. Romanticized what would happen. It was so surreal.

I'm looking down now that it's over
Reflecting on all of my mistakes
I thought I found the road to somewhere

"I know I said that I would stay away-" He started. She ran to him and clutched him in her arms.

"I love you." She whispered. He pressed her tightly against himself.

"I know."

"I'm so lost." She said as she looked into his eyes. He slightly smiled.

"No you're not. You're human. You aren't supposed to have all the answers all the time. And everyone expects that out of you. But you're not supposed to be like that." She touched his cheek.

"I know."

Somewhere in His grace
I cried out heaven save me
But I'm down to one last breath
And with it let me say
Let me say

"It's been so long since we've been together, and I missed you so much. " She whispered.

"It's been hard." He gently said into her ear. She genuinely grinned. Her eyes slightly watering.

"It's gonna be easier now, right?"

"Yes, Buffy. It will be. We're together now. Fighting together." She nodded in agreement.

Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
That maybe six feet
Ain't so far down

He ran a soft hand through her hair, and she closed her eyes, and basked in the glow of his touch. This is what she had been missing. This is what she had been fighting for all along. The freedom to experience perfect happiness and not be afraid of the consequences. She almost wanted to die, she was so happy.

Sad eyes follow me
But I still believe there's something left for me
So please come stay with me
'Cause I still believe there's something left for you and me
For you and me
For you and me

"I'm glad we found each other again." He looked into her eyes. She rose to her tippy toes and kissed him softly on the lips.

"I always knew we would."

Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking

The End
