Buffy lay on the pile of pillows in front of the fireplace in the dining room of the mansion. Well, it had been a dining room. Angel had converted it into a living room.
Presently, Angel was massaging her aching shoulders. "Mmmmm." she murmured. "This is heaven."
Angel laughed softly. "Feeling better?" he asked her.
"Definitely." Buffy said.
"How many vampires did you fight?" Angel asked her.
"I dunno. Seven or eight." she said. Angel hit a particularly sore spot. "Ooooohh."
"Stay here." murmured Angel. "I'll be right back."
A bit sleepy, Buffy watched him leave, and come back with a package wrapped in gold foil. He handed it to her, then lie down next to her on the velvet pillows.
"Oh wow. Chocolate. And it's Godiva! Angel, this is wonderful!" Buffy exclaimed. "Mmmmm."
Angel draped a blue cloak over her. "Where did you get this?" asked Buffy.
The vampire shrugged. "Around." he answered cryptically.
"Finally, a quiet evening. No Giles, no Mom, just pure bliss." murmured Buffy.
"A perfect evening." agreed Angel, drawing her against him. She turned her head to look at him. He kissed her. She closed her eyes, and responded eagerly. Finally, their lips parted, and Buffy lay her head on Angel's chest. The two lay there in front of the fire like that for a while, Angel stroking her hair softly.
So, have I gone off the deep end and landed in a puddle o sap, or was it good?
