Authors Notes: I watched that movie 'what women want' and I got this really cool idea for a fanfic. I hope you enjoy it.
Summery: A demon comes into town with the ability to grant two wishes to anyone of it's choice, and guess who it chooses.
Buffy was sitting on her bed, reading a book. She didn't usually read any other novel besides romance, but she had to read a book for a class she was taking at UC Sunny'hell'. It was hard to believe but she was actually enjoying the book, it was about a knight who had to go through trials of honor to win a metal or something. It was 11:51 PM and she had to finish this chapter by the time class started tomorrow at noon. She was really tired and didn't really want to read the remaining four pages. Sighing, she decided to call it a night, she would just have to set her alarm so she could finish the pages. Placing her bookmark in the novel, to mark her spot, she set it on the night stand. She froze when she heard a sound, it sounded like wind blowing sand around.
"Slayer." a smooth voice said from behind her. She quickly grabbed the dagger weapon from her top drawer and turned to face the demon. What she thought was a demon was a very handsome blond haired man. But nothing could sneak into her room without her knowing, and not be some sort of super demon.
"What do you want." she demanded. Raising her weapon to show she was armed, and ready for any battle he threw at her.
"I don't want to hurt you." the man said, she gave him a look. "I want to help you." He finished, but Buffy didn't buy it. He was able to get through her window without opening it, this guy was not a person. "You'll have to put that away." he pointed to the knife she had in her hand. It flew from hers into his and disappeared.
"Okay, I'm officially freaked out, get out now!" she ordered the sorcerer person. "I don't care what you are, or what you what, but get out!" she said forcefully, hoping to intimidate the demonic being.
"Do you really want to dismiss me so quickly? I'm here to suggest you an offer you cannot refuse." he clasped his hands in front of him. "Do you want to hear it or do I leave, as you ask?"
"Alright." she said, "Just talk fast." she crossed her arms in front of her, knowing it was probably kill something for me and I'll give you eternal life or something to that nature, as always.
"I'm here to offer you three wishes. The wishes can be anything you want, from riches, to bringing people back from the dead." he started to circle her. "You can wish to repeat a bad time in your life, or wish for a whole new life, it's up to you." he did a sweeping gesture with his arms, before clasping the in front of him again.
"Do I have to make them now? And are they permanent?" she questioned, started to consider his offer seriously. She already had two wishes in mind that would be the best thing to happen to her in a long time
"You can wish them all now, or later, wish one then think about the other ones, it's all up to you. I'm your genie, if you will." he smiled at her.
"Okay, fine. I got two right now." she said, the man raised his eyebrows in a gesture for her to continue. "For my first wish, I wish that I could read Angel's thoughts. Do you know who I'm talking about?" the genie nodded, "Good, now my second wish is that I can relive all the events from the morning of the day before my seventeenth birthday with my new ability and that Angel doesn't lose his soul when he achieves true happiness, but he turns a little bit more human each time but keeps his strength and healing ability." she nodded her head, proud of her choices. The man hesitated, "Is there something I missed?" she asked him.
He walked closer, placing his hand on the top of her head he said, "Close your eyes." she complied and when she opened them she was in her bed. She ran her hands through her hair, it was short, she was sixteen again. She looked at her clock, it was the exact time her alarm was supposed to go off, and it did, she happily pressed the off button. Smiling broadly she got out of bed. She was so excited, she practically skipped to the shower.
After having a nice relaxing shower to calm herself, she toweled her hair, then styled it in the loose, straight style that Angel had told her he liked a few years ago, well in this time, it was a year in the future. Her face started to hurt she was grinning so wide.
When she was done drying her hair, getting dressed in the same outfit she wore on this day before, putting on her wet and wild teenage make up, and brushing her teeth, she went downstairs. She still had a whole hour and ten minutes, it was so cool, it was exactly like before, the smell of the eggs cooking in the kitchen, they way she felt fuzzy and warm when she thought about Angel. When she was in her other time, she had taught herself to not feel that way, but this sixteen year old body didn't care at all. The only thing that was different about this morning was the fact that she didn't have that mind numbing fear for Angel's life, because it was his soul that the dream had told her was in danger, not *him* specifically, and that threat was vanquished by the genie guy.
"Good morning, sweetheart!" called her mother from the kitchen. Her mother, fully alive mother, not deceased of an aneurysm. Buffy suppressed a squeal and hurried into the kitchen. When she spotted her mother standing over the oven flipping her eggs the way she liked them, along with Buffy's sunny side down, Buffy hurried over to her mother and embraced her in a tight hug.
"Very good morning, mommy." she replied, before releasing her mother and saying, "Why don't you sit down, and I'll finish making breakfast." Buffy offered, she was in the best mood of her life. She had her mother back, she had her Angel back, and she had her youth back, it was really cool.
Joyce's face went from a good morning face to a no way face. "Buffy honey, are you feeling okay." she said in mock concern. "You seem a bit too mature." she teased, but handed her daughter the spatula before taking a seat on one of the stools next to the kitchen island. "So, what's the schedule for after-school hanging out?" she asked her daughter in the most casual way possible, but Buffy knew she was just asking to make sure she would be safe.
"Um." Buffy started, before placing her mother's eggs on a plate, "I think Will and I are going to do the study thing in the library after school." she said, placing the plate in front of her mother.
"Thank you, dear." she accepted the eggs. "I thought you were going to study at Angel's place after supper tonight." mom took a piece of toast from the plate she had already set out before Buffy came down.
Her mother knew already, that made things a lot easier. "Oh yeah. Willow studying is on Wednesday" she said a casually as she could. "You know, the study keeps Snyder our of my hair."
"Your new principal? Since when?" Joyce asked, taking a bite of her eggs. "I thought he was going to present you the academic achievement in the assembly today?" she questioned, eyeing her daughter nervously.
Suddenly Buffy was swamped with a new memory, she was a really smart student getting A's in all her classes. She smiled and immediately nodded to answer her mothers question. "Oh yeah, he is, but I want to think of him as on my case, it keeps me in line." Buffy told her mother then put her eggs on a plate and sat down with her mother at the island.
"Ah, I don't think you have to worry about being in line missy, you are the class president." she stated and took another bite of her eggs.
Buffy's eyes widened as she got that memory and all the others, she wasn't the slayer, or a loner. She was the most popular, most intelligent, and most asked out girl in the whole of Sunnydale High, this was way cool. She had to remember to thank the genie dude and send him a friggin fruit basket for this. "Yeah." she said, doing her best for casual. Then turned her attention to her breakfast.
After she finished she was out the door and on her way to Angel's apartment. It was an actual apartment building now and he lived on a higher floor, she got this from the memories that were still coming back, when she reached his apartment door she knocked lightly. She heard him say, "Hold on." from inside before the door opened. "Hey." he said, surprised to see her during the day, and also kind of thrown by her prefect beauty and just perfectness. But he knew that if she was here during the day, when she had school, there had to be something up.
Buffy smiled broadly and said, "Hi." she said, overly enthusiastic. "Can I come in." she asked.
"Sure." he stepped aside and she walked in, setting her bag down beside the door. "What's up?" he asked and moved to put on his shirt, she followed him, just like the last time they did this. But this time she needed a really good reason and fast. And above all she had to control herself, no matter how much she missed him, or how familiar he was, being that he hasn't changed at all, she had to control her urges to not just jump him.
She put on her sweetest innocent face, "Can't a girl just come visit her boyfriend before heading off to the bonegrinder known as school?" she unconsciously moved closer to him. She suppressed a laugh at his look of mixed emotions which she knew all to well, and understood. He was torn between carrying her to his unmade bed and making love to her, and keeping his hands off because she was still innocent. She didn't want him to think she had boundaries set around her, that restricted him from touching her, so just wrapped her arms around his waste. "Aren't you glad to see me?"
He finally loosened up and said, "Word can't express." before he lowered his head and kissed her fully on the lips. She was shocked at how warm they were, maybe he was human already, what if the genie dude had created a whole new world for her, this was cool. As the kiss deepen their arms went into the usual spots, one of her hands stroking the back of his neck and the other under his arm and around his shoulder. His stroked her back and the other was buried in her hair. While they made out she started to remember how they met. He is human and works as the owner and manager of a formal wear business. She had wandered into one of the stores, the one he manages specifically and he was the one that helped her pick out a dress for a wedding she was attending with her mother. They were really deep in their relationship and had basically passed the phase of just kissing, they had gone all the way to necking. She knew this because he broke the kiss, just to start a trail smaller kisses down the column of her neck.
She sighed into his expert touch, "Oh, Angel." she moaned and held his head to her. "Mmm, that feels good." She felt him smile against her as he switched to the other side of her neck. "Um, Angel..." she said, he stopped and lifted his head to look into her shiny eyes. "Not that this isn't really nice, but I do have to go to school." she told him, he nodded, disappointed he dropped his hands to wrapped around her waste and she dropped hers to place on his strong, muscular arms, even though just holding her just this was nice, he was having a good time groping her as minute ago. "But," she purred, getting his attention again, "But, my mom thinks I'm coming over to study after school," she knew he had to go to work at noon that day, so she said. "so maybe I could swing by your store after school." the finished with the innocent look in her eyes which she knew made him crazy.
"Why don't you do that." he agreed in just deep, sexy voice, and pulled her closer so she was forced, not that she really minded, to move her hands to wrap around his neck. "I'll be waiting, not patiently, but I'll be waiting." he told her, before giving her a sweet kiss, and reluctantly letting her leave his arms, just as reluctant as she was to leave them. He walked her to the door, but they only got like halfway before Angel's need got the better of him and he grabbed her arm and spun her around into his arms again. They were kissing again. They kissed for a little while before Buffy pulled away for air because she wasn't really prepared for his 'attack'.
Also the scent of him, that clean smell of Dove and the cologne she had bought him a little while back from his birthday, and his hands and lips, she could almost die, one thing that was still the same was the sensations that rocketed through her when they touched. "Oh, God, you feel..." she trailed off, at a loss of what words to use to express what he felt like.
When he had caught his breath me stated the obvious, even though he desperately wanted her to stay, she had to leave. "You have to go to school." he said with a very brief breathy laugh. They started to move toward the slightly open door.
As they moved she babbled, "Right, I know, this is me..." she pushed her back against the door, making it close with a soft click, "I'm going." she purred looking into his lust filled eyes as he moved against her and wrapped his arms around her tiny waist and they were kissing again. But, this time Angel didn't really attempt to hide his want as much as the other times. His hands moved down her thighs, gripping them and pulling her up to eye level before wrapping them around his waist. "Oh, Angel..." she sighed.
Moving his kisses to her neck he started to caress her thighs, hips and sides, murmuring her name over and over again. "You smell so good, you feel so amazing, oh, god, I wish you didn't have to go." he said, all the while kissing her neck, with his hands roaming over her body. But the inevitable dawned after about five more minutes of making out like that she had to go. So he stopped his attentions and decided to try for a eloquent ruining of the passionate mood. "You still haven't told me what you wanted for your birthday." he said, finally catching his breath, it was kinda hard because she still had her legs around his waist.
Buffy caught the question over the disappointment at him ruining the perfectly lusty mood. But the sweetness of the question being asked of her for the second time made her forget for a second and responded the same as she had before. "Surprise me." she said sweetly.
He smiled secretly, as he had done the last time, and replied. "Okay, I will." then he lowered his head for one final kiss before he set her back down on her feet.
"This is nice," Buffy said breaking the silence, she reached up and touched his face before continuing, "I like seeing you before you've had time to primp for work." she lightly teased.
"Hey, I have to look my best before work." he defended playing along with the joke, "Besides I have to try and keep up with my gorgeous girlfriend, she's getting more beautiful everyday, I'm scared she'll get bored of me." he said teasingly, but also trying to get rid of insecurities.
Buffy smiled knowingly at his comment, he had tried to make it sound like teasing but she knew him better, plus with all her new memories of this reality still coming back to her it wasn't hard to figure out. "How did I manage to snag you?" she said, "You're the perfect guy." she finished, reaching up to run the pad of her thumb over one of his eyebrows. "I love you, you know that right?" she asked him hearing the innocence herself in her voice, she was starting to accustom to her brand new life.
He half smiled and Buffy thought she would melt into a puddle of goo before him, as he said. "I know." then he said those three words. "And I love you too...so much it makes me want to ask you to skip school." he said. "But I'll see you at 3:30, right?"
"Definitely." she agreed, "Or maybe I could see you tonight?" then she caught her obvious mistake, and quickly said, "Um...I..." she gave a little laugh, and she saw his eyes drop almost with a hint of disappointment, "y-you, know what I mean." she finally got out.
"I think so." he said, but then realized that he wasn't that noble and finished, "What do you mean?" he looked into her eyes with a hint of lust glinting them.
"I like seeing you." she said with her gaze downcast before raising them to meet his eyes innocently, "And times like now, where we have to say goodbye...They're getting harder." she stated the obvious.
He totally agreed with her statement, but instead to attacking her mouth again he said, "Yeah... They are."
She glanced at his mouth again before saying, "I'll see you after school." he backed away a bit to open the door for her. She picked up her bag, "Good bye." she said softly cupping his cheek then moving out the door.
"Good bye, Baby." he deepened his voice to that sexy purr he knew she loved as she walked down the hall and into the elevator at the end. She blew him a kiss as the doors closed breaking their gaze. He sighed, "Just the start of another very long day." he said glumly for two reasons, one was that he had to wait for like six hours to see Buffy again, and two was he hired a new girl in his department store and she was a absolute ditz who had managed to sound knowledgeable at the interview. He closed the door finally them went back to bed for an hour.

"Your legs were around his waist, you actually did that?" Willow gushed as her and her best friend, Buffy, walked across campus toward a bench.
"I know I know." Buffy admitted, it was really nice to be sixteen again, but her hormones were back to their sixteen stage now and she was practically burning for Angel.
"That's, I don't know, that's... Moxy or something." Willow told her friend and Buffy turned toward her a bit.
"Totally unplanned, it just happened, and it was nice, I wanted to go further, and we would have if it hadn't been for school." she said the last work with a hint of loath for school attached to it.
"And he was the one that put them there, he wanted to go further too?" she said quietly so that a passing group of ubersnoby girls didn't hear them.
Buffy pretended to consider it and pretended to come to a realization, "Well, yea, I think it does, well I mean, if he's cool about it." Buffy looked at her friend and nodded slightly to get her opinion.
"Well, of course he is, because he's cool, he would never... you know." Willow finished with a slight blush.
Buffy looked a bit stern as she filled in, "Push."
"Right, he's not the type." Willow agreed with her.
Buffy was kind of nervous about it all, she was a virgin again in body and she was slowly changing into the life again she soon she would be in mind too. "Willow, what am I gonna do?" she said in a semi-exasperated tone of voice.
Willow smiled slightly, "What do you wanna do?" she said softly.
Buffy let her nervousness show more. "I don't know." they sat down on the bench they had been walking towards. "I mean, 'want' isn't always the right this to do." she pointed out, forgetting about the last time she had said the very same thing. "To, act on want can he wrong." she said with more feeling then the last time, since Angel was human now and they would have to take measures in protection from her getting pregnant.
"True." Willow agreed with a slight nod of her head.
Buffy looked at it from the other angle. "But, to not act on want... I mean, what if I never feel this way again?" she said, almost desperate for the knowledge at the right thing to do without ruining her chance at experiencing real true love physically.
Willow smirked, "Carpe Diem, you told me that once." she said softly.
Buffy's face scrunched up, "Fish of the day?" she asked almost sarcastically.
"Not 'carp'." Willow said, "'carpe'. It means 'seize the day'" she clarified.
"Right." Buffy considered this then turned to her friend again and said. "I think we're going to, seize it. I mean, once you get to a certain point, then seizing is sort of inevitable." she said with a slight raise of her eyebrows.
Willow was shocked, but slightly impressed, "Wow." she said softly.
"Yeah." Buffy agreed with a little smile.
"Wow." Willow said in the same tone of voice. Just then the bell for classes started and Buffy whimpered in disappointment. Willow followed Buffy toward the school with a whispered, "Wow." They started walking side by side toward their first class. "Wow." Willow said again, slower this time and in a lower voice.
"Yeah." Buffy agreed a little more excited. She spotted Oz at the picnic a little ways away. "Hey, speaking of 'wow' potential, there's Oz over there." she pointed out, "What are we thinking, any sparkage?" Buffy asked regarding her friends happy expression closely.
Willow took a breath, "He's nice. I-I like his hands." she admitted happily.
Buffy rose to the occasion, "Mmm, fixation on insignificant detail is a definite crush sign." Buffy said in a teacher way, with a gesture of her hand to make her point clear.
Willow made an unsure face. "Well, I don't know though, I mean he is a senior." She said trying to get away from the looming idea the Buffy would make her go over to Oz and *talk* to him. Have an actual *conversation* with him, it was to crazy to even think of almost, her talk to a guy that she liked that wasn't Xander whom she had known all her life almost.
Buffy's eyes widened slightly, but thought up a good think to say that was something to the effect of what she had said last time she had down this. "You think he's too old because he's a senior? Please, my boyfriend just had his 25th birthday." she stated in the same tone she had the last time.
"Oh that's true." Willow agreed, but then her expression went back to uncertainty. "Well, it's just, I don't know, I..." Willow tried to think of another excuse not to go over there and talk to him.
Buffy cut in, "You can't wait the rest of your life for Xander to wake up and smell the hottie." Buffy told her worried friend, "Make a move, do the talking thing." she finished.
Yeah easy for her to say, Willow thought, she had Angel drooling over her, "Well, what if the 'talking think' becomes the 'awkward silence' thing?" Willow made another excuse.
Buffy decided to give her a choice then hurry to class, "Well you won't know until you try." she said glancing at Oz again before moving past her friend. After a while she turn to see if she had gone to talk to him. She saw them talking comfortably and distinctively heard Oz ask her out. She smiled for her friend then hurried to classes with Angel again on her mind. And he occupied her mind all day long. Through a test that she easily passed because she already knew the answers and through getting a little bit of this reality memory a little at a time. It was a nice day, but she couldn't wait until she could see Angel again.

It took forever, but school was finally over. She practically ran all the way home and dropped her homework off at her house and told her mom she was going to the mall, which was where Angel's department store was located. It was a ways away so she called a cab. The cab driver was driving impossibly slow, it wasn't the meter that she cared about, it was the being away from Angel longer. But finally they were at the main entrance to the mall. It was right after school so there wasn't very many people there, not as much as there usually way anyway, so she easy made her way to Richard's Boutique, which was the name of Angel's formal wear store.
She walked in and was instantly confronted by a girl that looked really ditzy, it was strange because Angel was very picky when he hired people. "May I help you." she said in a very overly cheery voice.
"Um, I'm Buffy, Buffy Summers, I here to see Angel." she told the smiley girl.
"Oh, you're Buffy? Wow, this is like so cool, I'll get him out here right away, just a seccie." she said in a very immature fashion. She was definitely a strange one, that was for sure. The ditzy girl pick up the phone that was behind the check out counter and dialed two numbers. After a few beats she said into it, "Mr. Richards, Buffy Summers has arrived." She waited for a few seconds. "Okedokie." she replied into the receiver before placing back in it's cradle. Then addressing Buffy, "You can just go on in to the office. Down the hall, second door on your right." she instructed then went to help a new customer.
Buffy nodded in thanks and headed down the hall, when she got to the door, it said on a little plate hanging of the door 'Richards, Angel'. She immediately knocked softly.
"Come in." she heard Angel say for inside, he sounded like he was having a hard day that meant cheer up time, she opened the door and walked in, closing it behind herself. "Hey, baby." he greeted with a half smile as he moved around his desk to wrap his arms around his girlfriend. They kissed hello and when they broke away he asked, "How was school?" he knew she was getting the award that day.
"Good." she replied, "But it went by as slow as friggin molasses." she exclaimed with fake drama, he chuckled. "What have you been doing all day?" she asked him.
Angel rolled his eyes, that was a sign of a rough day, and moved away from her to sit at his desk, she followed, perching on top of his desk right beside the mouse that he had his hand on. "I've been trying to teach that ditz to work the check out all day, I finally got her to understand it, and now I have to work out how I'm going to fire her and keep our popularity up, because the girls that come in seem to be really comfortable around her."
"Personally I think she's creepy." Buffy admitted, slipping off his desk and moving behind him, and began to massage his shoulders. "Well you can relax because Buffy's here to take care of you." She purred into his ear and delighted in the shudder that ran down his back and he stopped staring at the computer and closed his eyes, enjoying the massage.
After a minute or two Angel broke the silence, "You know what else is relaxing?" he said in a hoarse tone.
"What?" Buffy asked moving her hands down his chest then back up to massage his neck.
Angel took one of her hands and led her around to stand in front of him. He smiled at her slight squeal when he took her by the waist and lifted her up to straddle his lap. "This." he said hoarsely before capturing her lips in a searing kiss. Buffy instantly responded and wrapped her arms around his neck as his roamed her body that was clad in only a very short black and white dress. But the knee high boots she was wearing were becoming a problem so she reached own and unlaced them. They broke the kiss so she could remove them, then they were back into their previous position, this time it was more passionate. He broke the kiss and showered her face with smaller ones before attacking her neck. "Buffy..." he murmured into her.
She craned her neck to give him better access and moaned in pleasure when she felt his hands run all the way up under her dress briefly touching her ass before running down almost to her knee. They were totally making out, utterly and completely. Angel tried not to react to this, but he did and Buffy groaned when she felt him grow against her. The only thing that stopped Angel from just taking her right then and there was the fact that she was a virgin and that it was his *office* for Christ sake, not the most romantic place for her first time.
Angel removed her white jacket from her body and threw it to his side then took hold of the zipper. He lowered it about three quarters of the way down then reached in to caress her bare back, she wasn't wearing a bra. That was nearly what undid him. "Angel..." she sighed, remembering the feeling of him, all of him, from her other life, her twenty year old life, and really wanted that again. She was so caught up in the moment she let it slip, "Angel, I want you." breathed into his ear.
Angel heard her loud and clear, and froze. He lifted his head up and looked into her lust shadowed eyes with his. "Here?" he asked seriously. Buffy shook her head smiling at the anxious look in his eyes.
"No," she said softly, "The night of my birthday." she finished never breaking the gaze. "I don't want to wait anymore, we've been together for like a year and a half." she pointed out.
"It's not an obligation, Buffy." Angel told her, not wanting her to feel like it's the next step, it was, but they didn't have to do it right away. He could wait, he did want her really badly, but he didn't want her to feel like he needed it right now, no objections at all kind of thing.
"I know, I want to." she explained, "I'm not a baby, I can make this decision." she told him truthfully, because she wasn't, she knew what she wanted and what she wanted was him.
Angel knew this, besides, it didn't mean any skin off his ass he wouldn't mind making love to her, he loved her. It wasn't like all the other girls he had been with. This was a real relationship. They would throw the surprise party for her, then they would go back to his apartment. He knew better than to argue this further. "I know that, sweetheart." he told her.
"Is that a 'yes'?" she asked him uncertainly.
Angel's eyes darkened with lust again then attacked her mouth, they made out for a few minutes before he pulled away, "What do you think?" he moving his hands to touch her ass, he knew Buffy liked that, "Yes, I want you, Buffy." he answered finally.
Buffy laughed and wriggled against him, rubbing his arousal, "I knew that before you said it." she giggled, he joined her before capturing her lips in another searing kiss. This one was interrupted by a loud knock on the door.
"Mr. Richards, um... there's a girl named Darla here to see you." the ditzy girl called through the door. "Should I send her in, you didn't answer the phone, are you busy sir?" she babbled lamely.
Angel sighed and rolled his eyes. "I'll be right out, Sophie." Angel answered. They heard the girl's high heels click back down the hall. Angel regarded his girlfriend who looked a little jealous. "Darla is a woman who came in here the other day, she's here to pick up her dress." he explained. Buffy nodded.
"Yeah, I mean you own this clothing store." she said. "You have to attend to the customers." Buffy still had the hint of jealously, because she remembered the time in her old life when Darla tried to kill her and get Angel back, but Angel staked her. Now the staking thing wasn't allowed because there was no demon situations in this world.
Angel laughed, "Buffy, what's wrong. Are you jealous of a customer?" he asked.
Buffy blushed and looked down sheepishly and dismounting from his lap and couldn't help but notice the disappointed look which rose her spirits a bit. "I can't help it. There are tons of girls out there that are way better than me and are more experienced. I worry that some hot broad is going to take you away from me." she confessed.
Angel got up and moved over to her, where she had walked around the desk and was standing in the middle of his office. "Buffy," he moved close enough to kiss her, "Buffy look at me." he cradled her chin and lifted her face to look at him. "I will never, ever find a woman that satisfies me more than you do. I could have a whole world of hot women that I could control, but the only woman I want to have a way with is you. Because you are the only woman that I love, and that will never ever change."
Buffy loosened up and decided to break the tense mood with a joke, "Are you saying that I'm not hot?" she teased.
Angel laughed at the question. "You? Not hot?" Angel rolled his eyes in mock distaste, "Who has told you this? You are gorgeous, magnificent, lovely, sweet, smart, funny, cute, flexible..." he said the last word with a suggestive teasing leer and a naughty smile. Buffy's mouth dropped open in mock surprise. "What can I say, I love you. You never cease to amaze me." he caressed her cheek with the pad of his thumb.
Buffy reached up and covered his hand with hers getting lost in his eyes. They slowly leaned in for a kiss, but they were interrupted by the door opening. "Mr. Richards?" said the familiar voice of Darla, then she realized that he was with a girl and they were obviously in a very intimate embrace. "Oh sorry to interrupt, I'm here to pick up my dress." she said ignoring Buffy and walking up to Angel laying a creamy white hand on his arm. Buffy moved closer possessively.
"Oh, right." Angel answered and addressed Buffy, "Excuse me for a second, okay, baby?" he asked her lovingly, so much so that all jealously ceased.
"Yeah, sure. Don't be long." she said with a sweet innocent smile. He returned it then exited her arms and left the room. "He'll be back." she told the naturally blond woman. "Do you come in his office often?" Buffy asked.
Darla laughed softly, "Oh, no. I never come back here. When I come to this store, I stay in the actual store where the clothes are." she said in a way to make Buffy feel embarrassed. "Are you the famous Buffy Summers?" she asked.
Buffy's eyes widened in shock, Angel talked about her to his customers? Cool. Buffy smiled sweetly, "Uh huh, that would be me." she said proudly.
"Wow, Angel talks about you all the time. There was this one time I thought he would never shut up." she laughed girlishly, Buffy felt pride really well up inside her and her heart swell with love for Angel, and she joined Darla with a quick giggle. "Oh there was this one time that he pointed out all the dresses that you tried on the first day you guys met, and how you looked in them, I swear it tool like forty five minutes." Darla exclaimed, Buffy felt likes she would burst, Angel really was crazy about her, "He must really love you."
Buffy nodded surely. "He does." she told the woman. Just then Angel returned.
Having heard the comment asked, "Who does what?" He held up the dress and Darla took it from his hand.
"Thank you, Um, we were just talking about the hours that you spend talking about Buffy." she exclaimed. Angel blushed slightly. "Anyway, thanks so much Angel, you're a doll. I'll catch ya later sometime." She opened the door, "Bye Buffy." she called before shutting the door.
When she was gone Buffy laughed, "You actually babble on and on about me?" she giggled so hard she fell into a chair that was in the office.
"Hey, I can't help it. You're such a wonderful topic to talk about." He told her, kneeing in front of her between her legs.
Buffy leaned forward a bit. "She could identify me on sight, Angel, that's *pretty* bad." Buffy giggled for a few more seconds. "I really like her." she realized. "She wants you." Buffy teased him.
"I don't care." Angel answered. "As long as I've got you."
"Ditto, big guy." Buffy replied she felt like crying it was so sweet what he said, totally and completely him. "Well, I should go, I have homework and I have to get back home before mom gets antsy." He got up off his knees as she stood up. "I'll see you later?"
He wrapped his arms around her waist, "Do you have to go? Are you really going to deprive me of you and make me go back to work?" he teased, "This is ultimate torture." He said dramatically.
"I'll stop by your place when you get home from work, okay?" she told him, knowing that was right after dinner, she was going to have to make up another lie and say that they were going to study a little more on the vocabulary because she couldn't say she was going to her boyfriends house to make out for a few hours, that wouldn't really go over really well since her mother really wasn't that sure about her daughter dating a twenty five year old. But she had learned to trust her and deal with it.
"Okay, I'll make you dessert." he said half smiling , Buffy felt like turning to gooey-Buffy, his to-die-for half smile always did that to her. "Oh," he picked up her boots. "Here." he handed them to her.
"Thanks." she said then softly kissed him, "Bye." she left his arms and he opened the door for her. "Try to have fun without me." she teased.
"Impossible." he replied. She giggled. "Bye, baby." he purred, just like he always did when he said that.
"Bye." then she was out the door and down the hall before leaving the hall she quickly put her boots back on then walked through the store to the front. "See ya, Sophie." she said to the ditzy clerk before exiting the store and walking toward the exit. As she was walking she enjoyed the remaining tingles in the places Angel had touched her. She was so preoccupied with thoughts of her honey that she ran right into a tall, hulky, blond haired guy. "Oh sorry!" she said immediately.
"It's all right." the stranger said, Buffy looked up at his ape looking face.
"Riley?" she asked for her other life memory.
"Yeah, that's me. Do I know you." he asked.
Buffy realized that he didn't so she raced for an explanation, she noticed the name tag. "Oh it says that on your name tag." she pointed to it. "I gotta go." she brushed past him. "Please don't follow me, please don't follow me." she murmured to herself as she hurried away. She got her wish when he didn't follow her. She sighed in relief and reached a pay phone and called a cab.

When Buffy got home she was in a really good mood because the reality had finally sunk in. She had a whole new life, brand spanking new. No more Slayers and Watchers, no more demons and darkness, just her and her Angel. It made her feel like bursting she was so happy. "Hey, mom!" she called giving her mother a hug then bounding up the stairs. She put on her diskman and turned on her new song It's Raining Men by Geri Halliwell. It didn't take her long to start singing along to it. "It's rainin' men, hallelujah. It's rainin' men, amen." she sang, dancing around her room which managing her change her clothes and take off her boots. She started humming along to it while tidying her room a bit. Then all of a sudden her diskman disappeared she looked around and spotted the blond demon. "Oh it's you." she said cheerily. "Thank you so much for the new life." she said sincerely.
"You are very welcome, Buffy." the genie dude accepted her apology. "I am here to ask you for your third wish." He held his hands together in front of him. "Are you ready?"
"Um..."Buffy thought for a while, it was a perfect world she was living in right now, what more did she really want? She was about to dismiss him when the idea popped into her head. "I wish to live my life in this life. I wish to grow up and grow old here, and not return to my old life." she told the genie.
"Granted." it said. Buffy nodded then turned around and continued cleaning her room. "Now for my payment." it said from behind her.
Buffy froze and turned slowly. "What payment?" she asked cautiously.
"You are to borne me a daughter." it told her. "In exchange for what I have done for you."
Buffy's eyes widened, "Excuse me? There is no way you're touching me." Buffy said backing away from him.
The demon shook it's head, "No, you are to mate with a male and give the child to me." it explained.
"No." Buffy said defiantly. "There is no way I'm getting pregnant and giving my child to you. Just because you granted me this new and way improved life, you didn't even follow my wish right."
"If you do not do this I will have to kill your love." the demon threatened. Buffy swallowed hard. "You either do this or I kill Angel and make you wish we never crossed paths."
Buffy didn't want to lose Angel, she just got him back. But she didn't want to get pregnant, she was only sixteen and soon to be seventeen, even if she was going to, she wouldn't want to give the baby to this blond genie type demon. But it was either death, or a whole lot of pain of pregnancy and childbirth, she would rather go through pain that will last only like nine months, then lose her Angel forever. "Fine." Buffy said, "I'll do it."
The demon smiled, "Excellent." then he started to back away. "You have a week to conceive." it told her then faded and disappeared, before her diskman returned to her ears. She turned it off and stared down at it.
She felt tears. "What am I going to do." she whispered before bursting into tears and sinking to the floor. After a few minutes she tried to calm herself, was it really going to be that bad, all she had to do was make sure Angel didn't put on any protection when they make love tomorrow night. She stopped crying and sat up to lean against the side of her bed. "It's okay, Buffy. It's gonna be alright." she told herself, then grabbed her bag and started on her homework.

That night after dinner Buffy told her mother she was going over to Angel's house to study. Her mother was a little hesitant but she let her go. On her way to Angel's apartment building, she kept thinking about what the demon wanted her to do. She didn't really want to have a child right now, maybe in a few years or so, but she had only a week. This really really really sucked. With her birthday being tomorrow she had little time to plan how she was going to do this. When she got to his door she had an urge to run away because she was all of a sudden afraid, for a reason she didn't understand. This was Angel, she loved him, he loved her, maybe if she just told him about the demon's demand he would come around and she wouldn't have to trick him. She brought her hand up and knocked lightly. She heard his moving toward the door.
When it opened her nostrils were assaulted by a waft of vanilla scented candles. Her fear went away instantaneously. "Planning a big night tonight?" she asked him. "Who's the lucky girl?"
Angel chuckled and stepped aside, she walked in, very impressed by the millions of different shaped and sized vanilla candles burning all over his average sized apartment. "I promised you dessert, didn't I." he said taking her into his arms from behind. She leaned back into his broad chest.
"Vanilla is my favorite scent." she told him, placing her hands over his as he hugged her tighter to him.
"I know." he purred into her ear, this sent a shudder down her spine. "Your dessert is waiting, m'lady." he purred again this time twinging it with his sexy Irish accent. He was originally from Ireland, but moved the Sunnydale before he learned to talk, so basically he grew up learning the American accent, but knew how to talk in Irish accents too.
Buffy giggled as he led her to his table, which was set up with tall dinner candles and a white lace tablecloth. She wasn't old enough to drink so there was sparkling juice in the ice bucket and beautiful wine glasses. "You really went all out." she said, "I feel sort of underdressed." she was only wearing a sleek black strapless dress that fell to her mid thigh. It wasn't really elegant, but more teenage. She sat down in on of the chairs and he pushed her chair in for her before sitting in the chair opposite the small square table. Buffy looked down at the silver covering that was covering her dessert. "Should we start?" she asked.
Angel poured the sparkling juice into her glass then poured himself some. "We can start when your ready." he told her.
"Then let's do, I'm dying to know what it is." she said, then lifted the silver covering, and froze. It was a small velvet covered box, a ring box that you kept rings in to give to someone. She carefully put the silver covering to the side, keeping her eyes on the box.
Angel was delighted at her reaction. "Open it." he urged her. She glanced up at him then pick the small box up and lifted the lid. Her eyes went even wider and she pulled out a beautiful, ten karat diamond ring on a twenty four karat gold band, and engraved on the inside of it was the word 'Always'. Angel got up out of his chair and knelt on one knee before her. Buffy's jaw went slack and she looked into Angel's eyes, unable to say anything, not believing this was happening. "Buffy, I know that we've only been together for a little over a year and a half, and I know that you're only seventeen, but I love you so much and I want to have you with me for the rest of my life, we don't have to right away but... Buffy Anne Summers will you marry me?" he finished his proposal and waited for you reaction.
Buffy's eyes filled with tears nodded slowly, "Yes, of course I'll marry you." she said as the tears escaped down her cheeks. Angel took the ring from her and slipped it on her left right finger. As soon as it was on they got up and embraced. After a few moments Angel spun her around and they both laughed happily. When they sobered, Buffy gushed, "God, Willow is going to totally lose her mind when I tell her this." Angel chuckled and swept her into a passionate kiss. After a few moments Buffy's legs were around his waist and he carried her into his bedroom and shut the door behind him.

The next morning Buffy woke up with a warm fuzzy feeling engulfing her entire body, and the feeling of strong arms around her and her back pressed against a broad muscular chest. She could tell he was still asleep, so she reflected. Even now she blushed a the memory of when he put on a condom. It was really awkward because they were so caught up in their love that she had completely forgot, and it was a good thing he remembered or they would be toast. But she also remembered his touch, it had been heavenly. She looked down at his hands which were resting in front of her stomach. She loved them, they were so strong, just so gentle, they created goosebumps along her skin where they had touched and it was wonderful how they made her feel loved and beautiful and sexy and desirable, when she thought she was just a regular girl that was making love to her boyfriend, he made her feel like a goddess being worshiped utterly and completely by her lover. She sighed and laced her fingers with his, loving how he clasped her hands back even in sleep.
After about twenty minutes Angel stirred and, I guess, decided that she was too far away and pulled her closer to him, mumbling something in his sleep that sounded like. "Go away, Darla, I'm Buffy's." then he went back to sleep. Buffy giggled, this wok him up just like the sound of her voice always did, if he was just zoned out or, in this case, asleep. "Morning, baby." he purred into her hair.
"Morning." she replied, grinning like an giddy little girl.
"Did you sleep well?" he asked, starting to caress her belly under the bed sheet, it was pulled up to their shoulders because Buffy had started shivering in the night and Angel pulled them up and cuddled her close and she stopped shivering.
Buffy nodded with a "Mmm hmm." added. "You?"
"I slept unusually well. I guess it was because I had my gorgeous fiancé to cuddle." he said giving her a gentle squeeze.
If it was possible, Buffy's smile broadened. "Mmm, I like the sound of that. Fiancé. It has a very nice ring to it. And when you add 'Angel' to fiancé and get Angel's fiancé, it sounds even better." She said, then rolled over in his arms to face him, he was smiling softly at her. "I love you." she said softly.
"I love you too, baby." he answered, then they met in a soft good morning kiss, that was rudely interrupted by the phone ringing. Angel groaned and broke the kiss to roll over and grab the phone. "Hello?" he said into it. "What?" he sat up, obviously not believing what he was hearing. "How?" he started shaking his head in disbelief. Then he closed his eyes and nodded his head. "Okay, 1:00 Tuesday, I'll be there." he paused. "It's alright, Claire, I'm glad you called me." she noticed a tear escape down his cheek. "Good bye." then he hung up the phone and lay back down, taking her into his arms again.
Buffy reached up and touched his face. "What happened?" she asked him, searching his eyes for any indication that it would be alright, but finding none.
Angel looked back into her pleading eyes and answered, "My best friend just lost his fight with cancer." then he broke down and started sobbing, and Buffy held him as he cried into her chest.
"Shh, it's okay, just let it out." she whispered to him, as he grieved for the loss of his best friend.

That morning, Buffy stayed as long as she could, but she had to leave to go home and get ready for school that day. She walked into the house and was immediately stopped by her mother. "Morning, did you have fun at Willow's?" her mother asked.
Buffy made a mental note to thank Willow for bailing her out. "Yeah, I'm just going to take a shower." Buffy gestured upstairs.
"Is anything wrong, Buffy, you look like you've been crying." her mother asked, "Did you and Angel have a fight last night?" she asked.
Buffy looked at the floor and said, "Angel's best friend died last night and he sort of fell apart, and I started crying too because I love him and I hated to see his cry." Buffy finished and felt her eyes well again. Her mother was looking at her sympathetically for her and for Angel. "Anyway, I need to get ready for school." she turned and hurried upstairs.
She was ready in no time, and was downstairs. "Buffy, if you want you don't have to go to school today. I'm sure Angel needs you with him after a loss of this nature." her mother said, she had been doing a lot of thinking and decided that Angel loved her daughter and wasn't the user type, besides she had seen the rock on Buffy's finger and knew it was a promise ring of some kind for her birthday since Angel was on the level, or it was an engagement ring. And she was surprised that she wasn't angry. She knew that her daughter was mature for her age and she was smart, so she wouldn't do anything stupid. She knew that she could trust her daughter.
Buffy nodded. "He was really disappointed that I had to leave... to go to Willow's last night. I was heartbroken at the look on his face, but I didn't think you'd like me to spend the night there." she said, testing her mothers reaction to the idea of her spending the night with Angel.
Joyce put down the paper and said, "I don't mind it Buffy, I know that you were there basically all night and never got to Willow's until really late. As long as you use your head and don't do anything rash, I trust you enough to spend the night there." she told her daughter. "Now get over there and keep him company and I don't want to see you back until dinner." she half teased.
Buffy smiled at her mother and gave her and big hug, "Thanks mom." then she left and hurried to Angel's place. When she got there she just let herself in. She didn't see him in the living room or in the bedroom. Then she heard the faint sound of water running, the shower. She peeked into the bathroom and saw his silhouette through the curtain. She grinned and moved into the living room to sit and wait.
As she was waiting she stared down at her ring, her engagement ring. It was perfect, not to big, or small, just right for her finger like it had been made for her and the word engraved on the inside made her feel all warm, the word 'Always' in relation to Angel just did that to her. That was because she loved him so much, and the idea of spending always with him was a really nice thought. She was brought out of her reverie by the door of the bathroom opening and Angel walked around the hall corner in only a towel wrapped around his waist. He was startled to see her there. "Hey." he said, happy to see her, but he still was deeply saddened by Levi's death. "I thought you had school today."
She got up off the couch. "My mom told me I could skip it and spend the day with you." she walked over to him and hugged him around his middle and resting her cheek against his fresh smelling chest.
"I'm glad she did." He said into her hair. She raised her face and looked into his eyes. "It's nice to have you around." he said with a half grin. She smiled back.
"Well, I can stay here all day, so I'm glad that you like me here." she replied. "So you wanna take another shower?" she asked looking into his eyes mischievously. "I'm feeling dirty."
Angel laughed and picked her up, carrying her into the bathroom for another shower. She was always good at cheering him up, even though his best friend just passed away, he knew that Levi would never want him to be anything but happy. Which is what Buffy made him, and would make him for the rest of his life. Forever, that's the whole point.
