DISCLAIMER: If I actually owned Buffy and Angel would they be on separate shows?? I don't think so!!! Anyway, Joss Whedon owns them (dang it!!) and all I own is the story line (yay!!!)
TIMELINE: 4th season
AUTHOR'S NOTES: If you've noticed already, all my stories have Buffy and Angel getting together in the end (and cause I want them, too!!!). I'm hard core about B/A togetherness (Oz and Willow should also be together cause I said so!!!). Well, I just found a lost flder with all my B/A stories from a couple of months ago when I was writing a lot, so I just sorta edited them and now there nice as new!!!! Anyway, read the story!!!
FEEDBACK: Wanted if not criticizing me
RATING: G (I think... I'm not good at ratings...)

Joyce could not believe she was doing this. Calling *him* after he had made Buffy's life such a Hell. But after Faith's little "meeting" with her, she knew Buffy needed him. The men Faith had told her about were just disgusting to think about.

"Why am I listening to Faith again?" she asked herself silently. "After she tied me up and was probably going to kill me?"

"Hello?" asked a young woman's voice on the other end that interrupted her thoughts.

"Hello, can I speak to Angel?"

"Yeah, sure, I'll get him."

Joyce cringed as the woman set down the voice and yelled, "Angel! Phone!"

She heard a muffled shout and then someone picking up the phone.

"Hello?"

Joyce knew this to be Angel. She had listened on many of Angel's calls to her daughter.

"Hello, Angel," she said. "This is Joyce Summers."

"Hello, Mrs. Summers," said Angel politely, but with a hint of mockery with it. She forgave him for that as he when she got done.

"Angel," she said, knowing she would regret this. "I need you to come to Sunnydale. I know I told you to—"

"Okay." The reply was quick and hurried, like he had been waiting for her approval.

"Do you want a reason?" she asked.

"Only if you want to give me one."

"Then I will," she answered. "Just to clue in on what's happening here. Buffy, as you told her to do, is dating again, but who she is dating, as I have heard, are not good. You were the one for her all along, Angel. But I couldn't see it and she won't even visit me."

Angel stared at the desk. Buffy dating bad men? He shouldn't have left her. Never should of left, and was a fool to do so.

"I'll be there next week," he told her. "I'll need to finish some things."

"Thank you, Angel," she said before she hung up.

*****

Angel opened the door to his new car that he had purchased in LA before leaving for Sunnydale. A brand new Porsche, black of course. He locked the car, even though he knew that it wouldn't do any good, and headed for Giles's apartment. Giles had called him a few days before he had left and said that Joyce had called and they would be having a "meeting" on Thursday and he should come. So here he was. Thursday night and in front of Giles's apartment. He knocked. The door opened and out came Willow's head from the doorway.

"Angel!" she said with wide eyes. Then she snickered, "Buffy's not here yet, so you can go get the darkest corner if you like."

"Thanks, Willow," he said as she stepped out of the way for him. Everyone was there, except Buffy, and he noted, Oz. He did as Willow suggested and took the chair in the darkest corner as everyone sat around Giles's table and discussed the latest demonic forces.

"I heard," said Willow. "That Adam is practically unstoppable and they don't know where the blueprints, I guess you could say, are."

"Who's Adam?" asked Angel from the corner.

Giles turned to him lowering his glasses.

"A type of part man, part machine, and part demon that the Initiative's professor made up from the ultimate fighting machine. Because of your confused look I'll tell you what the Initiative is. It's a Army type group from the government that takes care of demonic forces in the Sunnydale area. They study them or, as they did to Spike, make them unharmful."

Angel smiled.

"What did they do to Spike?" he asked.

"They put a chip in his head that doesn't allow him to feed or even fight humans, only demons," Willow chirped from her seat.

Angel's smile grew larger as everyone went back to their discussion.

Fifteen to twenty minutes later, the door opened to see Buffy with, Angel cringed, another man. The one Joyce must have been talking about. He was well built, Angel noted, nice facial structure, but, as Angel remembered his day as a human, was defiantly not as like his.

They both entered and sat down… next to each other. Angel noticed Willow's eyes kept darting to look at him for his reaction.

"So," Giles said. "Since we all had to wait for you, we shall now have to go longer than expected."

"Sorry," Buffy said. "Riley takes longer to walk ever since Adam made him a shish-ca-bob, remember?"

Riley, Angel presumed, smiled slightly.

"All right then," Giles said. "Since we have heard, from you Riley, that Adam has been recruiting vampires to do his work?"

"Yeah," said Riley, holding Buffy's hand. "He's seeing how other life is from demons to man, from the kid to the demon that he killed."

Angel saw his chance to jump in and make himself shown.

"But vampires don't like to join with other demons."

Everyone's heads turned in his direction. He could see Buffy's eyes get bigger at the sight of him near her. He could see her lips form his name unconsciously.

"Ah, yes, your right, I suppose," said Giles.

"Who are you?" came Riley's voice from the table.

"Angel."

Everyone looked at Buffy who had just blurted out his name without knowing it. She covered her mouth quickly and then uncovered it, smiling weakly.

"Sorry," she said quietly.

Everyone smiled in understanding except Riley, who didn't get it.

"Angel," said Willow suddenly. "Before I forget. I came upon that spell of yours and I was looking through it and the old one that one of Jenny Calendar's friend's translated for me and it seems that that *part* was taken out by Jenny."

Angel half smiled and said, "Thanks, Willow. I'll make sure and remember that."

He had noticed long ago Buffy had drop Riley's hand and now she had moved slightly away from Riley.

"Uh, yes, Angel," said Giles. "You need to get settled in, I suppose, why don't you do that and we'll meet back here tomorrow?"

"I won't be here," said Riley. "I've got to go to Iowa for a few days."

"I'll make sure and let you know everything that goes on when you get back, Riley," Buffy said, faking a smile.

"Thanks," he said giving her a kiss on the head.

"Well," said Riley. "I've got to go get my stuff and get to Iowa. I'll see everyone Sunday or Monday."

With that Riley got up and left the room.

"Yes!" Xander said. "Fish Boy's gone!"

"Xander!" said Buffy with wide eyes. "That was very rude."

Angel got up from his seat in the corner and sat in Riley's seat.

"Fish Boy?" he questioned.

"His last name's Finn," Buffy explained. "So Xander, like his name for you is Dead Boy, gave Riley that name."

Angel smiled in understanding.

"Need a ride, Buffy?" Angel questioned. "I'm sure your dorm is on the way to the mansion."

"Yeah," she said getting up with him.

They walked in silence to his car.

"Nice car," Buffy said before getting in.

"Thanks."

They drove in silence for a while and then Buffy blurted out, "Why are you here?"

Angel looked at her and said, "Your mother told me to come."

"And you're listening to my mother, why?" she asked looking at him strangely.

"She's the one who told me to leave," he said. "And I know not to mess with your mother, so I left for LA."

"You didn't want to leave me?" she asked, turning her hazel eyes upon him.

"No."

The answer was simple.

"Oh," she said. Maybe he did want his life to be with her, as she wanted her life to be with him.

They drove in silence once again until they reached her dorm. Buffy invited him to her room saying she had to show him something and he went with her. She invited him and he complied, standing by the door. But what they both noticed was the whole place had been ransacked. Buffy's side was disastrous while Willow's hadn't been touched at all.

"Oh my God," Buffy muttered.

"They wanted something from you, Buffy," Angel said nonchalantly.

"Well, that's kinda obvious," she said, putting on her valley girl tone and rolling her eyes.

"You should come to the mansion with me," Angel said, opening the door slightly. "Get some clothes and meet me at my car."

Before she could protest he was gone with only his black leather coat swinging out the door.

"Okay," she muttered and started getting her things together.

*****

Buffy walked out of the dorm with a backpack full of clothes. Angel was sitting in his Porsche silently and calmly.

"God is he hot," she thought smiling slightly. "Riley would defiantly never match up to him."

Angel saw her coming and got out to open the trunk for her.

"Thanks," she murmured.

"Sure," he said shutting the trunk and getting in.

"I called Willow," she said. "Seems that Oz showed up a few minutes after we left and she's going to stay with him until we find out what's going on."

"Okay," Angel said. Then asked, "What happened to Oz?"

"Oh," Buffy sighed dramatically. "There was this other werewolf, right? Named Veruca, major psycho bitch. She was all like 'you need to get tuned in with you 'wolfy self'' and it went to Oz's head and he went to go find 'himself'. So now he's back and stuff," Buffy shrugged and looked out the window.

"Interesting," said Angel pulling into the cemetery. He parked near the mansion and got out. He pulled Buffy's bag from the trunk.

"Does anyone live here?" she asked.

"No," Angel said. "I own it."

Buffy rolled her eyes. Just like Angel to own some big building.

Angel unlocked the door and ushered her in. Buffy noticed it was still sun proofed. Angel set her bag down and said, "You can have the bedroom, I'll sleep out here."

Buffy noticed everything was in the same places. A piece of art there, a sculpture here. She touched one of a weird essence and said, "Yeah, sure, whatever."

Angel looked at her strangely and asked, "Do you want to call your mom to let you know you're here?"

Buffy turned quickly and with a deathly calm voice said, "Why do you want me to do that? So she knows I'm with *you*?"

Angel swallowed hard at her remark and said just as calmly, "No. To tell her of the break in."

Buffy shrugged and ran her hands over the countertop of the bar. She accidentally kicked a shelf and her old notebook fell off of it. She picked it up, wondering what it was when she saw what she had written on it:

**"Buffy & Angel 4-ever!"**

A sob broke out of her and she dropped the notebook. Angel rushed over to her to see what was the matter. He cursed himself for not throwing the notebook away. Buffy was crying now and he knew he had to comfort her. He took her into his arms as she cried and her arms found their way around he neck, as did his around her waist. She sobbed into his chest until she had the ability to speak.

"Angel?" she said into his chest.

"Hmm?" he asked looking down at her.

"I've done very bad things."

"Like what?" he asked.

Buffy sobbed a little and said, "I cheated on you."

Angel looked down at her sadly and said, "You're only doing what I told you to do."

"No, Angel," she said. "I really cheated on you. I kept telling myself that every guy I've been with has been, well, you. I'd be happy as long as I thought they were you," she sobbed again before continuing. "Or I would try not to remember you and tell myself you don't exist." She looked up at him with tear-filled eyes and said, "I'm sorry, Angel."

"Shh," he said rubbing a thumb over her cheek. "I should be sorry, I left you."

And suddenly they were kissing. Kissing with the love they felt for each other and how much they had missed each other over months of separation. Buffy's tears stopped as soon as her lips touched Angel's cold, loving ones.

They didn't stop kissing, both knowing the clause was gone in his curse and it would be only fair to show each other what they felt. Buffy didn't think about anything, except the fact that Angel was there, kissing her. She didn't care that Riley would be heartbroken, she cared for only the fact that Angel was there and loving her.

*****

Buffy awoke with the feeling of peace in her body. She stretched out on the bed, only to touch something cold next to her. Her mind found the recollections of last night and she smiled to herself. Turning to Angel who was sleeping next to her, she sprawled herself over his cold chest. She lightly drew circles on his chest quietly humming to herself.

Angel opened his eyes groggily. Buffy was tracing circles on his chest, thus meaning he hadn't lost his soul.

"Hey," he said looking down at her.

She smiled up at him. She hugged him the best she could and said, "Hi."

"You look happy," he said to her smiling teasingly.

"I am!" she said playfully socking him in the arm. "I'm always happy with you. Unless…"

"Unless what?" he asked.

"Unless you're saying you're going to leave me," she said quickly and quietly.

"I'll never do that again," he said, lifting her chin with his finger. "Never again."

He kissed her lightly and he felt her smile against his lips with satisfaction of him being there… forever.
