Miscalculations

DISCLAIMER: I own nothing except Leigh and David everything else goes to the people that own the show (grr)
TIMELINE: After Darla and Angel have sex in Reprise
AUTHOR'S NOTES: I was doing my boring Math and I thought of this story and it wouldn't go away, so I wrote it down. The title makes absolutely no sense to the story, but that's okay! Also, when the font is bold it denotes dream, okay?
FEEDBACK: I love it, so send lots of it (otherwise I will be very sad and that will be bad cause I'm in a happy mood!)
RATING: G (literally, there's no swearing or anything)

Angel stared into space as he repeatedly asked Buffy self-consciously to forgive him for sleeping with Darla, hoping his demon would be to occupied with Darla to go after her. He swallowed once more before letting sleep claim him.

The sound of the door slamming woke Angel from dreamland. He rubbed his eyes wondering why his soul wasn't gone and why he had a pair of pants on. He scratched his head in confusion, swinging his legs on the side of the bed and walking out of the door…

And came face to face with a teenager carrying cleaning supplies.

"Sorry, Dad," the teenager shot him a quick smile and quickly moved past him to one of the hotel's bathrooms.

Dad? Angel looked back at the teenager, reasoning that she did look somewhat like him, with the deep brown eyes. But the dirty blonde hair was not from him.

Angel's stomach growled, so he made his way down to the kitchen. As he neared, he heard some commotion going on inside. He pushed the swinging door in to see Darla holding a young boy's arm forcefully, causing it to bruise purple.

"What's going on?" Angel asked loudly, eyeing Darla.

Darla looked up ad let go of the boy's arms and pushed her blonde hair behind her ear. The little boy ran to Angel, wrapping his small arms around Angel's legs, whimpering. Angel looked down and picked up the small boy, cradling him to his chest.

The little boy was the first to answer Angel's question, "She was trying to get 'the information' out of me."

"I was not!" Darla feigned shock, moving over to Angel and attaching herself to his arm, which he shook off. "Did I, David?"

Angel looked at David, who cowered in Angel's arms before responding quietly, "Yes you did, you want to know where Mommy is."

Darla raised her hand to slap David, but Angel grabbed it and twisted it behind her back, making her cry out in pain.

"You hurt my children anymore, I'll kill you," he threatened quietly before releasing Darla and turning around to walk out of the room.

"You've never cared before," Darla spat at him. "You said as soon as their mother came back you'd marry me so we could have a family."

"Or not," a voice said from the other end of the room. "That's what you think. When Mom comes back, Dad's gonna marry her, not you."

Angel turned his head to see the teenager he saw in the hall again. The teenager put the rest of the cleaning supplies up, coming over and taking David from Angel.

"You okay, D?" she asked, smoothing out his rumpled hair.

David nodded, "She wanted to know where Mommy was, Lee-lee."

"First she's gonna hafta know who she is first, right?" the girl's smile was oddly familiar.

David nodded, causing Darla to look at the girl, "David, he name is "Leila", not 'Lee-lee'."

Leila shot Darla a death look, "I prefer 'Leigh' or 'Lee-Lee', not Leila, it's to old for me."

Leigh shot Darla another look before putting David down and moving out of the kitchen with him.

Angel turned his attention back to Darla and told her threatening, "Don't touch my children."

Darla glared as he retreated out of the kitchen.

Angel was having a strange dream. Well, not that strange, Buffy was in it, but she had his two kids with her…

"I need you to take care of them," Buffy was telling him. "I'm obviously immortal. I haven't aged since I was 20 1/2."

"You want me to take care of your kids?" Angel remained casual outside, but inside he was boiling with Angel. Buffy wanted him to watch her and another man's kids? That was the knife in his heart going deeper and being twisted at the same time.

"Our children," Buffy told him, sitting down on his couch. "They're yours, too."

"And I haven't known about them why?" Angel raised an eyebrow, partially happy they were his.

"If Darla knew you have children with me they would be dead before the got out of the hospital, you know that," Buffy ran a hand through her short blonde tresses. "She's livid with jealousy that I can have your children and she can't."

"What's their names and how old are they?" Angel asked, giving in. "And why are you leaving?"

"Leila is 14 and David is 5."

"It's 'Leigh', Mom!" a voice erupted from behind Buffy. "'Leila' makes me sound old and it's so unbecoming."

"Leigh," Buffy rolled her eyes. "Go pick a room on the 3rd floor and put David next to you. And remember what I said!"

Leigh nodded repeatedly as she picked up David who was beside her and made her way up the stairs.

Buffy turned back to Angel and answered his last question, "Everyone is Sunnydale is aging, married, and actually knows how their children were conceived. None of those things fit in the 'Buffy' category and I have to figure out why. Dawn may stop by once in a while also to make sure Darla hasn't killed them yet."

A 'honk' of a horn stole Buffy's attention from Angel.

"Well, gimme a few years, okay?" Buffy smiled bitterly at Angel, picking up her bag from the floor.

"We're getting married when you get back," Angel looked up at Buffy, a smile tugging on his lips.

Buffy smiled widely, "Okay. Do I get a ring as a souvenir?"

Angel reached out and unclasped the chain hidden under her shirt, pulling off the Claddagh ring off and taking her hand. Angel slipped the ring onto her finger, pulling her to him and kissing her passionately.

"Till we meet again," Angel whispered against her lips before letting her go and watching her walk out of the door.

Angel woke up, panting heavily, looking over to the other side of the bed and finding it empty. His eyes strayed to the door, seeing Leigh standing in the doorway with David, looking at him closely.

"You have no clue what's going on, do you?" Leigh remarked as though it was the most obvious thing.

Angel shook his head and Leigh smirked.

"The dream you just had was true," Leigh moved into the room. "All comments go to D, family dream caster," Leigh stopped, David looked up at her. "The year is 2016. David and I have been her for six months. Darla wants us dead, but she needs a reason, but she does suspect we're her kids."

"Who's?" Angel interrupted her. "Bu-"

His mouth clamped shut automatically, with Leigh glaring at him.

"If Darla finds out, we're dead," she hissed.

"She'll hack us up into tiny little pieces ad shove us into the walls," David whispered hauntingly. "She said so."

"Why is she here?" Angel inquired, getting out of bed to put a shirt on.

"You were… mutually involved until we came," Leigh told him. "But now you won't even be on the same floor while you're sleeping. Darla's mad because you don't sleep together anymore and she knows it's because of us, so she's trying to get rid of us so you will."

"And that's in a nutshell," David piped up.

Angel smiled down at his son before looking back up at Leigh, "So where is your mother?"

Leigh looked down at David before answering cryptically, "Right at Boston, across the see, up two steps to Martyred cities. That's all I can tell you, otherwise she'll know."

Angel nodded his agreement, "I should probably find her."

"Don't need to," Buffy's voice came from the doorway. "Unless of course you want to walk the five steps to me."

Angel turned with a smile on hi lips, drinking in the site of Buffy in a red sundress. Buffy walked in slowly.

"You should have seen Darla's face," Buffy laughed. "It looked like her head was going to explode."

Angel's eyes got big as Darla entered the doorway, pointing a gun at Buffy's head, "Mine won't. But yours will."

Angel watched at Darla pulled the trigged and leapt onto Buffy, knocking her to the ground. Buffy watched the bullet make a nice clean hole in the wall and frowned, "Great, now somebody will have to fix that wall and clean up the dust."

"What dust?" Darla raised an eyebrow at the floor.

"This dust," Leigh shoved a stake into Darla's back and watched her turn to dust. "I never liked you anyway."

Angel rolled off Buffy, pulling her up with him.

"Well, one obstacle taken care of," Buffy muttered.

"And the other is?" Leigh asked with a "duh" tone.

"That your father and I get married, of course," Buffy told Leigh with the same tone.

"Yeah, it's about time," Leigh murmured under her breath.

"I heard that!" Buffy scolded before she was pulled into Angel's arms and kissed passionately.

"Ew!" David exclaimed, scrunching up his nose. "They're kissing!"

Leigh rolled her eyes and grabbed David's hand, "Get used to it. They'll be doing it a lot."
