Don't tear Buffy and Angel apart
You made us believe in their eternal love
And now there're embedded in our heart.

If it takes a little humility
We will do our begging on our knees
We'd do anything you would ask of us
If you will take heed of our pleas.

Oh Mr Greenwalt and Mr Minear
Can't you see how much our tears flow
You just can't let Angel love another
You know he is not an ordinary Joe.

Marti and Jane are quite a pair
And their writing is way above par
But if Buffy and Spike become lovers
That is taking it way too far.

All of you all together
Have created a story beyond compare
But to give Angel and Buffy new loves
Would be everything that is unfair.

Kate, Darla, Cordy, Fred
Do you put their names in a hat
Do you close your eyes and dig right in
Then Angel has a new love - just like that.

Angel doesn't need another lover
His true love is only miles away
He could do with friendship and understanding
Cause Buffy is in his heart to stay.

And what about poor old Buffy
She saved the world and earned her peace
And though we are so glad that she is back
We want talk of a new love to cease.

We - all the little people
Are asking for our voice to be heard
You told us Angel and Buffy were soulmates
So to change that now would be absurd.

You all are writers with a special gift
And we just ask that you use it well
Please don't pair Angel and Buffy with others
We are sure there are many other stories to tell.

We don't ask that you hold back your imagination
Take your pens and write well into the night
Please, please, please – don't give our heroes other lovers
Let their love be true while they fight the fight.

We are down on our knees and begging
And the tears track down our cheek
Angel and Buffy want to stay true to each other
They can't tell you so for them we speak.

Oh Mr Whedon and all your companions
When next you sit down to write
Don't forget what true love and forever means
And spare some thoughts for our plight.

We know for now – apart they must be
And we understand and patiently we will wait
No other love or lovers for either of them. please
It is something we so passionately hate.

So give us stories we know you have inside you
Stories that make us laugh and weep
Don't break our hearts the way you could do
So finally we can sleep a peaceful sleep.
