Riley violently grabbed Buffys' arm. Willy looked on wide eyed as the small blonde pulled back her fist and punched Riley. Hard. But, Riley being the stupid little prick that he is, didn't stop. He slapped her, his hand making a sickening crack as it contacted with skin. Willy ran out of the bar, he knew Angel wasn't going to like this one bit.
************
*Bang, bang, bang!* Come on, come on! *Bang, bang, bang, bang!* When the door opened,
Willy came face to face with an extremely tired looking vampire. Angel starred down at the smaller man.
"Willy? Wha-?"
"Angel, buddy, pal, you gotta listen! It's the Slayer, she's in trouble and-"
"What?! Buffy?" Willy was pulled up by the shirt, coming to eye level with very sharp teeth. "What's wrong with Buffy?"
"This guy, a hunter or somethin', he comes in, starts dissing the customers, then slaps her. Please, you gotta go down. She's in bad."
Angel dropped the snitch, and ran back into his office. Quickly packing his bags, he was almost ready to leave when Kate walked through the open door.
"Angel, I didn't know you were up."
Willy backed into the shadows, something bad was gonna happen.
"Please, Kate, not right now. I've got to go somewhere," Angel tried to push his way past the annoying police officer, but to no avail. She didn't budge. He held back a growl, "Move, Kate."
"Where? You were going to leave town and not tell me?" Kate put her hands on her hips.
"It's urgent, I've got to go to Sunnydale. Now move!" The vampire tried to push by again, but Kate still stood her ground. Now he was mad. Slipping into game-face, he grabbed her by the neck and twisted. She fell to the ground lifeless.
Angel looked over to Willy. "Hey, I didn't see nothin'."

When Willy got back to the bar Buffy and Riley were gone, but the remnants of a fight was clear. There was blood on one of the chairs. Angel leaned down and sniffed it. It was Buffys'.
He growled. Whoever did this was going to die. Very slowly. Very painfully. Everyone in the bar said that the Slayer had chased Fish-Boy out the door, yelling at him. Angel couldn't help but smile at that, Buffy never was one to run from a fight. Always had to have the last word. Or punch.
Luckily, some of Rileys' blood had been spilled. Now Angel had the pricks' scent. There was nowhere he could hide from the angry vampire.
************
Riley tried to clean up the wounds as best he could. He couldn't believe it, Buffy, helping demons. Even Hostile 17. What's more, she had hit him. Beat him until he was almost completely blue and purple.
He was forced to stay with a friend, another member of the Initaitive. Buffy would look for him at his dorm, he couldn't risk going back there.
Harry Trusle, a particularly good-looking man that slightly resembled Guy Williams, walked in the room. He had black hair and a small moustache that seemed to accent his features even more. Setting down an icepack, Harry sat down next to his companion. "So, Riley, what did you in this time? Morah demon? Vampire? Little elf?"
Riley cast him a cold glare, "Don't push it, Trusle. I outrank you."
Harry shrugged, "Hey, just askin's all. You need anything, just beep me." Riley starred at the door. "Oh, right. Leaving now..."
As Harry hurriedly left the room, Riley was left alone with his limited thoughts.
***********
The door opened, then closed. Riley didn't bother opening his eyes. "Trusle, go away, I don't need anything." But the footfalls of large boots could still be heard. "I said, go awa-"
The commando looked up to meet Angels' gaze. "Who the heck are you?"
Angel grinned, then took a quick sniff of the air. Yup, this was him. "You're the one who hurt Buffy," his smile turned into a frown, "you're going to pay for that."
Riley didn't register fear, he wasn't afraid. Commandos were in peak physical condition, he had no reason to doubt the outcome of a fight. But, being the moron he is, Riley forgot about his previous encounter with a certain blonde Slayer. And his black and blue marks.
"Oh, you're not afraid, huh?" Angel kept an even tone, "You will be." He took out a long, curved blade from inside of his coat. Now Riley was afraid. "Hmm, never thought I was going to use this on a human." A beat passed. "Oh well."

Buffy sat alone at the Bronze. Where was Riley? He wasn't at his dorm, pretty sure he wouldn't go back to the Initiaitive base, so where was he?
Xander walked up and sat down across from her. Buffy didn't bother looking up. "Hey, Buff. Uh, you are alive, right?" The Slayer slowly raised her head, then promptly did a complete double-take.
"Oh my God, Xander! Your hair!"
The skateboarding boy put a hand through his now red hair, "You like?"
"You look like Oz," Buffy began to giggle.
"Hey, I-"
Willow walked up, followed by Spike a few feet back. "Hey, guys!"
Both vampire and wiccan registered shock, "Your hair!"
"What? Do you guys like it?" Xander had hope in his eyes.
"You look like Oz," Willow started to laugh. Spike joined in. Xander mumbled something unintelligible under his breath.
But Buffy wasn't paying attention. Her thoughts were focused on a man standing across the room. Angel. His love for her shone through the dim lighting of the club. They stayed locked in a trance, even as the vampire made his way to where she was sitting.
When the others noticed Angel, he was already arm's length away. Both he and Buffy starred at each other for a moment, then they were involved in a long, passionate kiss.
************
A voice came over the microphone, "Hey, ladies and gents, we have a special treat for you today, we were able to book 98º!" The crowd applauded. "Well, without further yakking, here they are, 98º!!"
Nick, Drew, Jeff, and Justin came out on stage. Each dressed in red-velvet suits, signaling a slow song. Once the applause had lessened in volume, the quartet began singing.
All I am, all I'll be
Everything in this world
All that I'll ever need
Is in your eyes, shining at me
When you smile I can feel
All my passion unfolding
Your hand brushes mine
And a thousand sensations
Seduce me 'cause I-
"Dance with me?" Angel extended his hand to Buffy. Smiling, she excepted. The two held on to one another, all the longing, all the love, was being shown. Neither ever wanted to leave that moment.
I do, cherish you
For the rest of my life
You don't have to think twice
I will, love you still
From the depths of my soul
It's beyond my control
I've waited so long, to say this to you
If you're asking do I love you this much
I do
Buffy laid her head down against Angels' chest. When she was with him, she felt safe. Nothing could harm her when she was in his arms. True, they had hard times, but the good outweighed the bad. They were going to make it work.
In my world, before you
I lived outside my emotions
Didn't know where I was going
'Till that day, I found you
How you opened my life
To a new paradise
In a world torn by change
Still with all my heart
'Till my dying day
I do, cherish you
For the rest of my life
You don't have to think twice
I will, love you still
From the depths of my soul
It's beyond my controll
I've waited so long, to say this to you
If you're asking do I love you this much
Baby, I do
I do...

As Spike and Willow watched them dance, the vampire stuck his hand a bit too far in on Willows' leg. Slapping his wrist, the wiccan went back to watching the two. Spike made a face. The hacker smiled smugly.
************
Buffy laid against Angel. The night had been perfect. Straining her neck up, the blonde laid a kiss on her lovers' lips. One which he gratefully returned.
"Angel?"
"Huh-hmm?"
"I have something I want to say, to tell you, actually."
"So do I, but you go first."
She smiled, "There is no curse, Angel." Buffy laughed as the vampires' eyes bugged.
"Huh-say-who-wha-?" He sat straight up, dropping Buffy to the mat. He looked down to meet her gaze. "You're serious." She nodded. "How long have you known this?"
"Oh, a few weeks..."
"And you didn't tell me?!"
The Slayer pouted, "You're mad?"
"Me? No-I-it's-just... Well, wow. I just thought that soul-permanency is something you tell the person who's soul is on the line. But, I'm happy you DID tell me and not hold it back." "Hmm, good." They kissed again. "Now, what about your little secret?"
He looked nervous, and Buffy was sure that if he wasn't already dead he would have paled. "Uh, Buffy?"
"Yeah?"
He took her hand and pointed to the claddagh, "The hands are friendship, the crown, loyalty, and the heart is for love." Buffy nodded. "But it's more than that. When I gave this to you, I pledged myself to you. Forever."
The small blondes' eyes got watery as she realized what Angel was trying to say. "Oh, Angel." They kissed, not breaking it for a long time.
************
Upon arriving at Giles' house the following night, Angel and Buffy noticed that Willow was passing out brownies. And that Spike had his mouth full of them.
Angel raised an eyebrow at that. "What? Red makes good brownies."
Xander walking up diverted his attention from the chocoate-loving vampire. "What the-? Um, anyone mind telling me why Xanders' hair is red?"
The male Slayerette threw his hands into the air, "I give up! Oz is the only one fit to change his hair color every few days, are you happy?"
"Xander?" Willow gave him a worried look, "Are you alright?" Xander sighed and fell back on the couch next to Spike.
Giles walked in, cleaning his glasses. "Oh, hello, Angel. I didn't know you were back in town."
Angel put on his most innocent look, as if to say 'What did I do?'.
Buffy just smiled.
Their happy moment was disrupted by the TV coming on. Spike held the remote. "What?"
'Earlier today, a large explosion rocked an area near the Sunnydale University campus. No one is sure of why the area suddenly blew up, but experts are looking into it.'
Xander grinned, "Hey, they deserved it."
Well, keep in mind it was a challenge. This was not spawned from my mind. I repeat; I DID NOT come up with this. It was the cat. ;-)
